What’s the point? Will people at the metal detectors be armed? Will every sing entrance to school grounds have a metal detector? And if caught, would Becton prosecute to the full extent of the law?

Frankly, the descent of this nation into anarchy astounds me and I wonder how long it will take before we see mass-vigilantism or an authoritarian government.

No! Too many punks are too eager to pull out strap these days because the dad isn’t around to teach them not to be a punk or fight like a man.

Simonpure October 6, 2021 - 12:27 PM - 12:27 PM

Why not…could have prevented a school shooting today in Texas. It was not a random act of violence. All started when a fight broke out and a gun was pulled.

Jacknife925 October 6, 2021 - 1:59 PM - 1:59 PM

You don’t know what happen,, you know only what they wanted you to hear. Don’t judge until you know!!

Simonpure October 6, 2021 - 2:32 PM - 2:32 PM

Just going by the police reports…I’m not a conspiracy type of guy. Read it again real slow…judged no one. Have a good day.

Jack, I really agree with you on that. I tried to research it some, and just got to the point that there are some strange things going on here and I want to look into this later. That school is 50% black, almost 90% minority, over 50% economically disadvantaged, but I Google map drove around the surrounding areas there are huge housing developments with all the houses looking almost the same, very neatly kept up almost in military style, almost no people out, and no individuality in any of the houses like personal gardens or flags or anything. There was one group of 4 kids waiting for the school bus, and three of them flashed gang signs at the Google camera. It was like from one or two pictures, space aliens tried to create what they thought an American suburb should look like. The residents and the look of the place did not line up. Yes, I know my post is too long but something is very weird here.

Randy October 6, 2021 - 12:51 PM - 12:51 PM

… unfortunately yes….and each entrance be staffed until locked for the evening

Ricardoh October 6, 2021 - 12:52 PM - 12:52 PM

Should we have kids go to schools wearing bullet proof vests? No, and no metal detectors.

MoJo October 6, 2021 - 1:26 PM - 1:26 PM

Yes- I believe that all schools should have mental detectors in order to weed out the psychotic liberal instructors.

greg October 6, 2021 - 1:32 PM - 1:32 PM

I think between metal detectors, bullet proof backpacks, and arming teachers, we can make our children feel safer than ever!

Jacknife925 October 6, 2021 - 2:00 PM - 2:00 PM

I don’t want the leftist teachers in the schools armed!!!

inmotion October 6, 2021 - 1:51 PM - 1:51 PM

No, spend that money on teachers and better curriculum.

Martinezmike October 6, 2021 - 3:03 PM - 3:03 PM

No! Spend the money on reeding, riteing, and rythmatic. And also speeling 👨‍🎓

Dawg October 6, 2021 - 3:11 PM - 3:11 PM

Metal detectors are a bad idea because they will only instill fear. Schools are already teaching kids what a horrible country we live in, and a metal detector will only reinforce that belief. A better idea is to teach kids how to be kind to each other. It really isn’t that difficult, instead of teaching critical race theory, and how to hate America because of its flaws, teach them what a great country America is in spite of its flaws, and how to be proud Americans, and to stand up for one another.
I was fortunate enough to grow up in a time when Americans were proud, and we had teachers that were proud, and they did a pretty good job of teaching us the Golden Rule.

Weedeater October 6, 2021 - 3:26 PM - 3:26 PM

Perhaps just raise children to respect the sanctity of life, and all things good, rather than how to be gay, change genders, and to hate white people…

Concord74 October 8, 2021 - 9:46 AM - 9:46 AM

Right On!!! Being Gay and transgender will not trigger a metal detector! With advent of “ghost guns”, metal detector will only pick-up the cartridges to be used!

Jeff (the other one) October 6, 2021 - 3:30 PM - 3:30 PM

in a purely educational aspect, by installing metal detectors in primary schools, the kids can learn at an even younger age how to bypass these detectors. In a fiscal sense, there has to be some relative or dear friend of one/some of the bureaucrats who can win the contract for these detectors, or some integral part of them, to make for a nice vacation next summer.

Schmee October 6, 2021 - 3:32 PM - 3:32 PM

Richmond high school in west contra costa has had metal detectors for 25 years+. Granted Richmond is one of the roughest cities in the nation.

Deb Shay October 6, 2021 - 3:34 PM - 3:34 PM

No, but every classroom should have cameras with a live feed that parents can view anytime.

jprcards October 6, 2021 - 4:07 PM - 4:07 PM

That would be great…..Of course they would then eventually need to close the schools because most people wouldn’t have their children attend any longer.

Ricardoh October 6, 2021 - 4:21 PM - 4:21 PM

I was just thinking of my high school. It had many ways to get on campus. Which was handy. Metal detectors are no good without a guard. So if you have a dozen ways to get in you need a dozen detectors and a dozen guards.

Cellophane October 6, 2021 - 8:03 PM - 8:03 PM

I heard some guy on the radio today talk about the 3 “R’s” being outdated.

He jabbered on about all sorts of stuff and redefined what the 3 “R’s” should represent.

Nothing he said talked about being responsible.

So, yes, schools should have metal detectors, body scans and everything else.

Because no one will be responsible.

Shannon Bottorff October 6, 2021 - 9:57 PM - 9:57 PM

Metal detectors? No
Drug sniffing dogs? Yes

Original G October 7, 2021 - 12:04 AM - 12:04 AM

Take Clayton Valley High campus as example, physical layout of buildings makes metal detectors not cost effective and easy to bypass.

Want to to protect kids at school then have trained armed law enforcement and ex military administrators who train with law enforcement and pass shooting qualifications two or more times per year at each school carrying concealed weapons. Mass shootings at schools would drop !

Community Mental Health Act of 1963, signed into law by JFK, Passed by 88th a DEM controlled congress, that should come as no surprise.
CMHA they passed forced mental health treatment down onto local level.
Appears congress has not revisited or attempted fixing that DEM blunder.

In 1950s appears there were no mass shootings.
From 1965 thru 1969 there were 6.
In 1970s there were 14.
In 1980s there were 22.
In 1990s there were 29.

Did Community Mental Health Act of 1963 seed problems we see today,
daily in our communities ? ?

Gun Free Zones are open invitations to rabid mental defectives out to top last mass shooter, in order to make a mark in “history” their pathetic lives would never afford them.

These gun free zones accomplish two things.
Gives mass shooters a guaranteed kill zone, until “good guy” with a gun shows up to Put Them Down.
Other thing gun free zones do is, ensure there will be a body count of young people to further gun control measures by politicians.

‘Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990 was passed by 101st congress (1989 – 1991), senate was DEM controlled 55 to 45, and
house was DEM controlled 259 to 174.

Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990 Introduced in the Senate as S.3266 Do your own internet search to find out which senator introduced that bill,
you might be surprised . . . then again you may not be surprised.

medrex October 7, 2021 - 9:03 AM - 9:03 AM

Why not. The high school I attended had metal detectors and that was back in the 80’s.

Sam Malone October 7, 2021 - 9:22 AM - 9:22 AM

I have many of my family who are teachers and they are plain disguisted by the leftist crap they have to teach now days. The future of our country is not being given all the facts and history is being diminished to push the new green-progressive-entitlement-socialist agenda.

How sad our country is being torn apart. if we do not correctly teach history it will sadly repeate itself, despite the taking down of historical statues. Old dinosaurs like me will still be here for awhile to remind the yournger generation of reality and not what the leftist media only wants us to hear.

Bring back punsishment for crimes, common sense and law and order.

redrazor October 7, 2021 - 12:24 PM - 12:24 PM

+1 to SM from another Old Dinosaur!

Janon October 8, 2021 - 12:11 AM - 12:11 AM
