A 24-year-old man has been arrested after investigators found more than 80 items worth at least $14,000 that had been stolen from Home Depot stores around the Bay Area, Redwood City police said Tuesday.

Detectives learned last Friday of possible organized retail theft involving Eric Crossman and did a probation search at his home that resulted in the discovery of many high-end power tools and electronics that had been taken from Home Depots in San Carlos, San Mateo, Colma, Pittsburg, Brentwood and San Jose, according to police.

Crossman was booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of commercial burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest, police said.

Anyone with more information about the case is encouraged to call Detective Sgt. Nick Perna at (650) 780-7672 or the Redwood City police tip line at (650) 780-7110.

Well what a surprise on probation,
possession of a controlled substance,
possession of stolen property.

About only thing missing might be, failed to graduate high school and has no job skills.

Month or so back at antioch big blue box hardware store saw an employee walking towed front of store with ripped up power tool packaging, talking with another employee. Seems person had been caught removing products from packaging, . . . did not get impression person was being held for police.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he was one of the many prisoners Newsome released.

From what I understand, San Mateo County has a pretty tough DA who’s fed up with Gavin Newsom’s soft on crime policy. He’s been working with other counties that are also experiencing the smash and grab phenomenon, sharing information, and crime analytics, to investigate and prosecute the suspects involved in organized theft schemes. The ACLU has criticized him for being too tough.

I’m the people woke up that the ACLU is now a sham. They don’t care about most people’s rights or civil liberties they only care about the liberal crazies and criminals. They’re the ones they want to have the rights not you and me the good law abiding tax paying citizen.

Been to the Concord Home Depot lately?

Wonder why they have had the self checkout lanes roped off and closed for months?

I don’t.

I goto Concord Home Depot 3-5 times a week.
There are 6 self check registers. 2 have been not open for a long time. 4 are always open.
Dont spread lies, it’s not becoming for a person of good character.

My wife bought an air purifier at Home Depot today and I feel robbed.

There is a “supply chain issue” with the Biden inflation BS and with California over priced gas so with Newsome’s loosey goosey laws what else can we expect and #47 steal away.

The laws have to be way more stringent and so do the police. Watch out DA’s and politicians we are sick of your lax ways. We want you out of office replaced with lawful politicians.

Yeah, San Mateo doesn’t play around. If this was our county, Diana would already have cut him loose with an apology. Time to use the RICO Act. Bonta probably hS no idea what it is.

The public needs to see what these lowlifes look like! How about mug shots?
These morons continue to steal and victimize until someone nails them. Retailers pass along the cost of thieves to the rest of us and we’re getting fed up.

Really need to see their pictures while they are wearing stripes. Preferable pink so they stand out if they escape. If I was the governor I would use the National Guard to protect stores. We have reached that point of lawlessness.
