An arrest has been made in the 1994 cold case murder of Concord resident Terrie Ladwig, who was murdered inside her Adelaide St. apartment.

The following is from the Concord Police Dept.:

On Thursday, January 26, Concord PD detectives with assistance from the Salt Lake City Utah Safe Streets Task Force, arrested 55-year-old James William Grimsley for the 1994 murder of Terrie Ladwig.

Ladwig was murdered in her Concord apartment on December 2, 1994 and the case has remained unsolved until recently. Concord PD has kept this cold case open and under investigation since that time. Recent developments led to the identification of Grimsley, a truck driver who was living in Utah at the time of his arrest.

Concord PD worked closely with the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office and the Contra Costa County FBI Safe Streets Task Force to obtain the warrant and locate Grimsley.

Anyone with information to provide can contact Concord PD Detective James Cartwright at 925-603-5829

I don’t agree with gay or trans life styles but I respect their freedom of choice. This person did not deserve to be beaten and murdered. I hope this suspect pays for his crime if truly guilty.

It’s never too late to solve a cold case. Kudos to Concord PD for keeping the case open.

Ladwig would probably be alive if “she” had called the cops instead of “her” “husband.” I use quotes because I refuse to play their game.
