More reasons to defund BART.

They’re a transit agency, not a social service agency. They’re failing at providing safe, clean and timely service – but instead throw money around (ie, waste) on programs that have nothing to do with their mission.

They spent “hundreds of thousands “ on one homeless person ? That’s inefficiency at best and fraud in the worst case.

Time for a grand jury Investigation. Then time start firing people.

You don’t say .. the government spent a ton of money with basically nothing (only one homeless person) to show for it. I mean, I would be shocked if this was the first time the government spent a ton of money with nothing to show for it .. but it isn’t. We went form a 20+Billion dollar surplus to a 20 Billion deficit in less than a year!

Has anyone caught the California High Speed Rail train yet? LOL

Barts answer: “don”t have a cow man!”

Nothing to see here, move along

That makes sense. If you ask a homeless person if they need help they nearly always say “no interest.” They don’t trust cops or anyone that smells of government or authority as those people then start trying to take control of the homeless person’s life, telling them how to live, etc.

So between BART and the Salvation Army, one whole person was helped at great expense. That person must feel so special. Not surprised that BART was involved but expect better of the Salvation Army.

.
Like I previously stated, BART should stick to their charge of providing safe, convenient, efficient, and affordable public transportation.
.
BART only excels at wasting public monies.

Anytime a group or agency is afraid of the light of day it’s time to look under every stone

That is the real issue-the homeless don’t want help, only money. They won’t give up their “lifestyle” in exchange
for treatment. They prefer to be feral. So it’s easy to see that BART is pouring money down a rat hole. There has
been no solution put forward, just huge spending. The homeless industry just grows and grows…

When will these so-called do-gooders learn, the drug/alcohol addicted homeless don’t want their help?

..another example of how mismanaged BART is and their leadership needs to be replaced. They obviously have too much money and should be able to have 10 car trains and have them running reliably.

Several years ago, they became confused as to what they were tasked with managing. Hence decisions since that time have not been in the interest of public safety or the electric railroad. It’s time for a much overdue tune up, and that means a comprehensive management housecleaning.

Lori February 7, 2023 - 8:48 AM - 8:48 AM

So what are they going to do about it? Is there a punishment? Are they going to be forced to help a lot of homeless, for no extra money, to make up for what they didn’t do? Or do they just say “shame on you”, and nothing happens?

BART is an embarrassment to public transportation. Defund BART. Fire everyone. Start Over.
