It appears theft season never ends at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Pleasant Hill.
Here’s the latest round of shoplifting incidents that occurred this week:
March 2 – 11:33 Shoplift – Five pairs of shoes, valued at $740 were stolen by a black male adult in a blue jacket.
March 5 – 1:59 Shoplift – Black male adult stole a $1,400 electric mountain bike. Fled on Buskirk Ave. riding the bike.
March 5 – 7:04 Shoplift – White male and two white females stole jackets.
March 6 – 2:13 Shoplift – Black female adult fled with a shopping cart full of items. Got into a van and drove away.
March 6 – 4:06 Suspicious Circumstances – Two white male adult suspects just took items and returned them for money. Store has been having a problem with these men.
March 7 – 4:37 Shoplift/Arrest – White male adult in his 40s left with a pair of shoes. Police arrested the man before he fled the scene.
March 7 – 6:30 Suspicious Circumstances – Four black male adults placing items in bags upstairs. All appear to be looking for security cameras
March 8 – 7:37 Shoplift – Three black male adults ran out with several pieces of clothing.
March 9 – 4:30 Shoplift – Hispanic female adult stole Nike clothing. Suspect was wearing a mask.

I was thinking, l how notorious gangster Al Capone was never able to be convicted for his crimes but the IRS got him for tax evation.That’s what finally sent him to Alcatraz. So maybe these criminals need to be convicted for not paying income tax on their gains. ( Which I’m sure their are not doing )

I’m sure most if not all shoplifters have a police record. It’s a revolving door down at the jail or they just give them a ticket and let them go. It’s only going to get worse.

Dicks famously stopped selling AR type rifles years back after a shooting. They cancelled Christmas orders people were expecting to receive. They then hired an anti-gun lobbyist to go to DC.

What do you expect with the likes of Gavin Newsom and Diana Becton running the show? What I find fascinating is that there are so many naive Democrat voters who refuse to admit it is the Democrat Party that is responsible for the sudden increase in shoplifting and other various crimes. It was the passing of Prop 47 that changed many felonies to misdemeanors, including stealing anything under $950, and it was the passing of Prop 57 that granted early release and consideration for parole to a whole host of criminals. It was Gavin Newsom who released thousands of convicted felons into our communities when he granted them an early release from prison, and it is Diana Becton who is refusing to do her job as a prosecutor.
Every time I hear the term “Proposition 47”, I have to bring up that it was named “The Safe Neighborhood and Schools Act” by none other than Kamala Harris when she was State Attorney General. I This Is How the democrats tricked the voters to pass the measure. All it really did was let criminals out of jail and has stopped sending any new ones to jail. “Social Justice” they claim.
I’m sure Kamala believed every word of what she said.

Just put up a sign that says “Now Hiring”. That should reduce the shoplifting.
That’s what those who voted the liberal Democrat politicians into office want; or, they are just simply too dumb to know what they voted for.
No store or business deserves to be shoplifted. They decided there were items they didn’t want to sell. They have that right and the public have the right to decide not to shop there, that is the free market. People stealing is breaking the law, they should not be compared. Just because someone does not like their political views, wishing I’ll on them is meanspirited.

So all you law and order conservative (by the way just because l’m liberal does not mean l’m not for law and order)you are okay with a store getting robbed just be cause you don’t agree with their supposedly political view. How does that make sense?

Do you actually know liberals that condones shoplifting, stealing other crimes? I will concede that some elected officials might be somewhat soft on crime. However, I don’t see any difference between my liberal and conservative friends when it comes punishing those who steal, shoplift, which of course is also stealing. I think
many conservatives just repeat what they heard from someone on TV, the radio or other outlets spout. We all want an orderly society where we can shop and go about our day feeling secure.

Dick’s Sporting Goods doesn’t prosecute so even if the shoplifter gets caught the police can only cite and release them. Dick’s management need to grow some balls and start prosecuting.
