The Walnut Creek Police Department on Saturday night responded to an in-progress carjacking in a parking lot in the 2500 block of N. Main Street that involved two male suspects.

The suspects opened the front passenger and driver’s side doors, dragged the male victim out of the car, and then kicked him in the stomach in an attempt to steal his car, police said.

A citizen intervened, causing the suspects to flee.

Officers arrived within minutes and located the suspects running on Third Avenue.

Responding units quickly set a perimeter, located the suspects hiding on Cameo Court, and safely took them into custody.

The suspects, who are both Pittsburg residents, were identified as William Hleza and Emmanuel Hleza.

Both were arrested for attempted carjacking, kidnapping, and conspiracy and were transported to the county jail in Martinez on $350,000 bail each.

No weapons were involved, and the victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Shout out to the brave individual who assisted the suspects. The D.A’s office better hold these thugs accountable-and I don’t mean a temporary ban from Walnut Creek. Long prison sentences for both. If not, We the people should protest, send emails, and call out elected officials when they fail us.

@ Chris ~ I agree… the guy that assisted the “victim” must be a pretty big guy… give him a medal.

Sorry I’m pessimistic about any chance for justice. These two have probably done this before and have been let loose to do it again. And they will be let loose again. The public needs to wake up but it may not happen until everyone gets assaulted. For some reason we have immense empathy for criminals and very little for victims.

I was driving on Clayton road west bound and turning onto la vista on sat. When a man tried to open my passenger door. My window was open as well and when i hear the door handle I screamed at him to go away and he turned and took off. I had my 7 year old with me. I called to report it and they caught him. They asked if I wanted to press charges and of course I did( he was also under the influence). Then cop then told me that he watched the whole thing happen. And when I showed up to I’d the guy they told me there wasn’t really anything. They could charge him for. Um he crossed 3 lanes of traffic and tried to open my door. Thank god it was locked and I was ready to fight back. Or maybe he would have been able to get in and do more. So frustrating. My son was terrified

Crime is getting worse by the second but good lawful citizens continue to get their 2nd amendment trampled and are unable to lawfully protect themselves! Shame on these dirty democrats who run this state!

Woke Walnut Creek is getting what they voted for unfortunately. I wonder where those people were standing in front of the police department with signs chanting defund the police?
Folllow the case. George Soros sponsored Becton will do little if anything. The reality we live in.

Becton is county. People in Walnut Creek don’t deserve this anymore than the people of Antioch. Blame this on people not having to pass a simple test before being allowed to vote. You can also blame this on people who are qualified not wanting to run for office in california. They have given up. No one deserves this just as no one deserves Blieden being the president.

Well Ricardoh, Walnut Creek kind of has gone out of its way to become ‘ progressive ,diverse, inclusive….: you know, all the trenday buzz words. But with it has come a lessening of quality of life and safety. Which is always the case with communities they go this route. Frankly I wish they’d keep this philosophy in San Francisco Oakland Berkeley where is absolutely ruined things. At least I give it to Danville and San Ramon they don’t want this down there and they are much more pleasant communities to live in.

I don’t know if Walnut Creek voted for her. Do you? No one deserves bad government even if they voted wrong. There are so many people who haven’t a clue about the person they are voting for. Especially city councils and county officials. I wonder if anyone who voted for Biden would admit it was a huge mistake. I would like to hear from at least one of them.

Exemplary work from concerned (Big Hero) citizen and Walnut Creek police officers. Perps should get 30 years minimum and not turnstyle political justice. Society is only as safe as you want it…

The two monsters should get attempted murder for kicking the poor guy in the stomach . Most would not have survived that!

The Fearless Spectator March 19, 2023 - 3:04 PM - 3:04 PM

Given the new legal direction in our country they should be able to charge the perps with attempted murder.
The victim just has to claim they identify as a woman, a pregnant woman, who just lost their baby as a result of being kicked in the stomach. It’s been made abundantly clear it’s no longer who or what you are, it’s how you identify.
Throw these guys in jail, and while they are awaiting trial, they can claim to be transitioning and demand to be housed in a woman’s prison.
It’s the wonderful topsy turvy woke world. Rather shortsighted isn’t it………..

LOCK THE DOORS ANYTIME YOU’RE IN THE CAR, DRIVING OR SITTING IN A PARKING LOT!!! Yes, they can break windows, but it will give you a few seconds to drive away.

Kudos to the good Samaritan, last time I fought off 2 rough panhandlers that assaulted me I almost got arrested, then both of them came after me for their medical bills cuz they both had to go to the hospital.
Was it worth it, well luckily there were witnesses that told the cops they assaulted me first and then I knocked them both the f out.

Again, sometimes you just got to step in and stop the insanity so again kudos to this individual too bad he didn’t put them both in the hospital and they ran off.

Lets all remember that the WC cops were ordered to “stand down” when the hood rats stole $500,000 from Broadway Plaza in front of them. There was video (I saw it) & the person taking it was yelling at the cops to do something (like arrest them) – but nothing happened. WHO gave that order ?
I dare anyone to answer that. It told the world that the liberals run this city & you can do anything you want here.
DEMS rule – you lose

In terms of “restorative justice”, the injured victim should be allowed to kick each perpetrator in the stomach.
