According to a Babel Lane homeowner, five out of 36 nearby eucalyptus trees have fallen since 5 p.m.

Use an alternate route to get to either Clayton Rd. or Cowell Rd.

Stay away from eucalyptus trees in high winds.

.
Fallen trees should be replaced with a better species like a pistache, elm, or oak when distant of power lines. PGE publishes a guidebook for planting near powerlines. Some favorites include crape myrtles, flowering pear, redbuds, and cherry.
.
Neighborhoods that have a lack of large trees look “naked”. Visit some older neighborhoods in Richmond, Oakland, or other places and they look VERY bleak.

You know what doesn’t fall in high winds? Palm trees. That’s why SoCal is full of them.
