Concord Police have confirmed this morning’s double shooting in North Concord was in fact a murder.
As we first reported, at approximately 9:48 am, Concord Police Dispatch received a call regarding gunshots being heard in the area of Solano Way and Broadmoor Ave.
When Concord Officers arrived on scene, they located two people suffering from gunshot wounds. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene and the other was transported to the hospital.
Police are not releasing anymore information at this time, however, we can confirm police did detain a person of interest in the backyard of a nearby home about 2 hours after the shooting.

Anybody with half a brain is going to start hoarding guns and ammo. Get cameras and lights outside your house. We desperately need to allow all law-abiding citizens to carry firearms. This is out of control. When seconds count, the police are moments away.

Only an idiot would use a long gun for a face to face confrontation. A pistol or revolver would have been more efficient.

Im sure CPD has obtained videos of the area since it is a retail center and are actively pursuing leads and compiling evidence.

Wow, at 9:48 in the morning?
Even as bad as things are getting I usually feel safe running around in the mornings doing my errands and work. It’s afternoon and at night when the thugs seem to be active. I always thought that bad guys were never really ‘morning people’. Unless our politicians and leaders put a lid on this crime, and stop holding the criminal higher up than us the good public, I think American citizen is right!
According to News 24-680, the shooter ‘s accomplice was described as being “white, blond, mid-20s, 5′ 5″ to 5′ 6″ tall, 140 pounds in a creme colored hoodie.”
Being reported one arrest 19 yr made, one suspect 20 yr outstanding but they know who he is.
