The 1313 Galindo Street Affordable Housing Project in Concord will be pouring concrete on Saturday, April 22, starting at 2 a.m.

One lane of traffic will be closed, and the sidewalk between Laguna Street and south bound Cowell Road will be closed.

The pour will finish at approximately 1 p.m., at which time the traffic lane and sidewalk will be reopened.

The contractor will have traffic control in place to improve the flow of vehicles while lane closures are in effect. However, if you are traveling in the area, please use caution, observe traffic movement, and keep intersections clear when navigating through this construction zone, as blocked intersections further contribute to traffic congestion, and increase the chances of traffic related incidents.

For complaints, please contact: Kevin Nejad at 510-209-7979

…. is it going to be wood frame? wasn’t there housing going up a while ago that got torched? …. they’ll need a fence around the construction from the beginning and guards – better yet with a watch pooch too.

I hope they put in a pedestrian walkway across Galindo so that low-income criminals can walk home from jail after being arrested.

It’s okay, we’ll be a 15 minute city before you know it. We will own nothing and be happy. Make sure to keep that social credit score up.

@ no excuses You got that right, the same Bozo’s have been trying to lower the boom in Clayton also. The majority of Clayton is against it but now a few council members are for it. Oust those and thru the cracks other manipulate there way on board.
Money talks but luckily too many people are against the low income housing bs in Clayton.

JURYISOUT,
.
The State of California will likely force “low income housing” and “affordable housing” upon the residents and citizens of the City of Clayton no matter what you all want.

HonestAbe April 21, 2023 - 8:11 PM - 8:11 PM

Stop cramming more people into this city FFS! The new housing on Clayton Rd. and Pine St. and all the new apartments on Grant in downtown and now this! Concord is becoming the new Pittsburg.. DeNova is building new million dollar homes in P.Hill why can’t they build them here in Concord?

HONESTABE,
.
It was about a decade ago that ABAG and the MTC came out with their Plan Bay Area/One Bay Area, which called for enough additional apartment style housing in downtown Concord to house an additional 22,000 people. The past and current incarnations of the Concord City Council have been and are fully on board with the decisions their ABAG and MTC overlords demand, because they represent ABAG and the MTC, and not the citizens and residents of Concord. How often do you see the current incarnation of the Concord City Council push back against further housing projects? Not offen enough, if at all! If approval of these apartment projects in downtown Concord required voter approval we would have a much different downtown Concord than the one the Concord City Council is forcing on us.
.
Councilmember Edi Birsan recently said “I prefer urban chaos” when discussing development of the CNWS property. The voting citizens of Concord City Council District 4 should be aware their district councilmember is voting for urbanization, and changing Concord from a suburban city to an urban city.
.
By the way, the Concord City Council voted to give several million dollars for the construction of this affordable housing project.

Liberal’ transit village brain fart from late 1970s, thinking everyone would ride bart to work come home to high density housing and wouldn’t need a vehicle.
.
Advances in internet speeds and more powerful processors have made commuting to work no longer a necessity.

President Biden just announced he’s running for reelection. The freebies will continue, and the taxpayers will pay for it.

Old Timer: I agree! I am Frugal. The Biden supporters see me as Privileged. I went without normal living standards: Cable TV, fancy vacations, the usual clothing, hair and beauty purchases. Concerts, weekly/daily dining and morning coffees. Movies, new automobiles, extravagant gifts, etc. I live well enough. Learned to cook, eat healthy (Lobster! SeaBass! Abalone, Steak!). Even found the elusive Good Man. F those whiners. LOL
