The entire state of California would be on our black list but we live here so black list certain cities. 39 34 Ricardoh October 25, 2023 - 1:16 PM - 1:16 PM Exit 12 When you boycotted Anheuser-Busch what beer did you switch to because Anheuser-Busch owns 500 brands. 15 8 Exit 12A October 25, 2023 - 2:43 PM - 2:43 PM . Firestone Brewery’s 805 . 11 7 Bobfished October 25, 2023 - 4:25 PM - 4:25 PM Me too!!!!’ 5 3 Dr. Jellyfinger October 25, 2023 - 6:17 PM - 6:17 PM I drink Shiner Bock from the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner Texas! Try it… you will see. I quit drinking Bud-ahrea before I was old enough to drink 9 4 Original G October 25, 2023 - 12:24 PM - 12:24 PM Absolutely, any company stupid enough to embrace woke stupidity and companies who mistreat their employees. 33 17 Concord Resident October 25, 2023 - 1:45 PM - 1:45 PM How would you define mistreating employees? For example, let’s say an employee is a member of the LGBTQIA community but the company hasn’t embraced woke stupidity and doesn’t recognize the same-sex marriage? Is that mistreating employees? 10 38 Cyn October 25, 2023 - 2:02 PM - 2:02 PM @Concord Resident Listen to the recent audio of Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee berating her staff……that’s a terrific example. 24 3 Original G October 25, 2023 - 2:07 PM - 2:07 PM Big box store meat cutters Unionized so company did away with fresh product they produced. Eliminated their jobs. Haven’t set foot in any of their stores since, been 23 years so far. Additionally will boycott any company advocating chemical, physical or mental mutilation of children. 19 4 Dr. Jellyfinger October 25, 2023 - 6:19 PM - 6:19 PM @ Concord Res. I would define it as “Who Cares?” 2 9 Yoyohop October 25, 2023 - 7:07 PM - 7:07 PM If the coffee shop sign says “Our staff is vaccinated for your saftey.” I avoid that place. No need to enable tyranny. 17 22 xj October 25, 2023 - 1:15 PM - 1:15 PM Yes. Agree on the City list above. I will add Concord, Martinez, PH after dark (most of the time) even though I live here. Heck, saw a homeless dude walking down the middle of the street in the morning talking to himself suddenly stop, drop his stuff and start hitting his head and yelling. Glad I locked my doors before I got to that guy. It’s not the first time I’ve seen crap like that happen either. 25 12 Jeff (the other one) October 25, 2023 - 1:30 PM - 1:30 PM Yes, I have and do. NFL, NBA, MLB, Target, Dick’s and Nike are a few. I have chosen not to provide any business/consumer interaction with any of these organizations. I have not been a consumer of Anheuser-Busch for about 20 years, so could not/cannot boycott them. I was disappointed when they ended the Clydesdales, but since I was not a consumer, could only voice my opinion. Since AB has canned (no pun intended yet will take it) the dullard who thought to use a mental case as a spokesman, all the while insulting the customer base, let us hope they come back to embracing America and Americans. 27 11 domo October 25, 2023 - 1:35 PM - 1:35 PM Yes, Kohl’s for their lack of support of the 2nd Amendment , anything supported by Newscum, Chevron due to their terrible service by their employees , and when I learn of other businesses that won’t support the 2nd Amendment I’ll boycott those 22 19 Hammer Head October 25, 2023 - 1:36 PM - 1:36 PM Yes, I vote with my dollars when I can. 29 1 Angry American October 25, 2023 - 1:54 PM - 1:54 PM No, I just simply chose an alternative. “heard that from someone and the practice works well” 12 3 inmotion October 25, 2023 - 2:23 PM - 2:23 PM Nah, woke this, woke that, who cares. If you don’t like something don’t buy it. Don’t need to make a whole production out of it. 19 6 Concordejet October 25, 2023 - 2:24 PM - 2:24 PM If we boycott kellogs into bankruptcy Would that make us cereal killers? Credit goes to u/stonkfreefuture 23 5 RunDog October 25, 2023 - 2:43 PM - 2:43 PM Yes, frequently. If they won’t rectify the situation, or If they won’t let we talk to a Supervisor who will, I’m done with them. ATT for sure. I have filed multiple complaints with the FCC about them. Specifically, how they don’t refund deposits and hope you’ll just forget that they charged $50 to install a phone, or yank a wall phone off the wall and say., “Now it’s a desk phone.” 11 1 Badge1104 October 25, 2023 - 2:43 PM - 2:43 PM Yes I’ve started to! Usually it was the left and liberals that would boycott any business that did not agree with their philosophies. So I had to add balance so I’m doing the same! I boycotted Bed Bath & Beyond, Anheuser-Busch, American and Delta Airlines. And it feels good! I will boycott any companies that take an anti-American or anti-family or anti faith stance. 25 13 iKrissy October 25, 2023 - 3:25 PM - 3:25 PM I WILL NOT GIVE MY MONIES TO: Costco, StarYucks & VickieSecretes…. But, I don’t spend a lot of money…very frugal…only buy what I need when I need it. 9 12 Burnbabyburn October 25, 2023 - 3:29 PM - 3:29 PM Yes. When Nike pulled the Betsy Ross flag shoe because of some hypocritical p.o.s. advisor named capernick, that marked the last time I will ever buy anything that they sell. 28 6 Commonsensenor October 25, 2023 - 3:38 PM - 3:38 PM Great topic, and I can answer for many friends and family members here when I say absolutely, we use our dollar as both reward, and punishment, for companies that do not adhere to common sense guidelines. I’d list all the companies we no longer do business with, but really all you have to do is look at stocks and store closings to find them. It makes me proud that the silent majority, who have been quiet for far too long (that’s what has got us in this mess) are finally standing up and speaking out, and using their dollar as a very clear message as to what is, and is not, acceptable. I’ll leave it at that. 29 5 Whoe Jim October 26, 2023 - 6:33 PM - 6:33 PM I will not eat at any fast food establishments anymore after Newsom just recently approved a state mandate giving fast food workers a minimum wage of $20.00 an hour and benefits. Just today I bought 2 sandwiches from a deli in Walnut Creek and was charged $30.00. No chips or soda. Thanks Gavin for the increase in prices. I won’t eat there ever again either. It’s probably better not to eat fast food anyway but not because of a mandate from a progressive liberal politician. 2 2 KAD October 25, 2023 - 3:40 PM - 3:40 PM Apple products and Amazon. 14 5 Antonius October 25, 2023 - 3:45 PM - 3:45 PM because Anheuser-Busch owns 500 brands. They do not, the company that owns them (AB) InBev does own many brands including AB. 5 Ricardoh October 25, 2023 - 9:32 PM - 9:32 PM Full name Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA BUD Not worth the argument right? 5 1 Dawg October 25, 2023 - 3:47 PM - 3:47 PM I strongly believe in liberty for all, including those who have a point of view that I don’t agree with. And why should I boycott? Who will it benefit? Unless thousands of people participate in the boycott, it certainly will not hurt the business, and most likely, they will never even know that I am boycotting their business. Furthermore, what will I get out of it? Satisfaction? Will it make me feel virtuous, like the Hollywood types that are constantly canceling out anybody and everybody they disagree with? I have too much pride, dignity, and self-respect for such nonsense. 22 4 Cautiously Informed October 25, 2023 - 4:02 PM - 4:02 PM I don’t follow any of what used to be sports and games. Also, I want absolutely nothing to do with and refuse to support the whole Hollywood woke politicized phony movie industry and all the fake pompous actors. 24 4 Original G October 25, 2023 - 4:10 PM - 4:10 PM Another consideration, SAFETY of you and your family. Observe cash handling and cash register placement, etc. Do employees count large amounts of cash in view of customers during shift change? Is cash drawer stuffed with cash and large denomination bills? At your bank do tellers loudly count out cash withdrawals? . Criminals observe what goes on with eye towards how easy and how much money? Flashing cash, loudly counting out cash can result in follow home robberies. 10 2 PESFG October 25, 2023 - 8:18 PM - 8:18 PM @Original G Sound advice to keep in mind. Washington Mutual came up with a system where tellers didn’t handle cash. Customers got their money by inserting a withdrawal ticket into a money dispensing machine, if I recall correctly. 1 Atticus Thraxx October 25, 2023 - 5:38 PM - 5:38 PM Not for ideological reasons. But there’s a number of other ways a business can piss me off. Bad parking comes immediately to mind. 16 1 Rollo Tomasi October 25, 2023 - 5:48 PM - 5:48 PM Yes, but I don’t make an issue of it by expecting others to do the same. 16 Dorothy October 25, 2023 - 5:54 PM - 5:54 PM I don’t call it boycott, I call it voting with my wallet. Won’t name them but I really liked one that I don’t spend at anymore. 19 2 The Fearless Spectator October 25, 2023 - 6:19 PM - 6:19 PM If a company is smart enough to stay out of religion and politics, I will use their goods or services I have a need for. The same for companies I invest in. When a company has management or marketing people who can’t keep their mouths shut, such as Alissa Heinerscheid, they are insisting I take my business elsewhere. I see no reason not to accommodate their insistence. 10 Concord Resident October 26, 2023 - 12:54 PM - 12:54 PM I take it you don’t support any Trump products or businesses? 2 3 Rollo Tomasi October 26, 2023 - 1:38 PM - 1:38 PM OK, I’ll play along. Which Trump products or businesses are involved in politics and religion? And I must insist you be specific. 3 1 Yoyohop October 25, 2023 - 7:02 PM - 7:02 PM Boycott businesses that refuse to take cash. The extra 3% or so that the credit card companies take, inflate the cost of whatever you are buying. And yes, mandatory digital currency is an existential threat to all of our freedoms. 17 2 PESFG October 25, 2023 - 8:15 PM - 8:15 PM @yoyohop Businesses should give a discount to cash paying customers since they don’t have to deal with credit card fees. Gas stations do give that discount, or at least Safeway does. 7 3 Beanzy October 25, 2023 - 8:25 PM - 8:25 PM Don’t boycott. Just stop going because of whatever. For instance, when I had cats I’d shop at Walmart for the canned Friskies. Now I don’t have cats, so I don’t go to Walmart. Also whenever I was in Berkeley, I’d stop by Monterey Market for produce, as it has some of the best a shopper could possibly find. Now I get it closer to home. Also don’t go out much for meals. Because I got some killer new heavy-duty pots and pans and have turned out to be a decent cook. 2 1 mike favar October 26, 2023 - 8:45 AM - 8:45 AM Sleep Number because they will not hire older employees. Also Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic because John Fisher (A’s owner) is a majority owner. 3 Well Folks October 26, 2023 - 8:54 AM - 8:54 AM There are a couple of national establishments I will not patronize because of sexism and bigotry and several of my friends do the same. But I don’t tell others to stay away as it’s their choice who the support. But a couple were shocked when the asked my why I don’t patronize them and I told them why. At that point they stopped patronizing as well. 1 5 You've got to be kidding October 26, 2023 - 9:07 AM - 9:07 AM If you have a rainbow flag or a BLM sign I’m out. I don’t want to hear about your sex life and I don’t give my hard earned money to anyone who supports anti America, pro Marxist groups. 11 4 Fred M October 26, 2023 - 10:10 AM - 10:10 AM Many of the companies listed above for their wokeness. I quit watching all sports, except for Battle Bots, when the players started calling me a racist because I disagreed with their opinions and the leagues caved in to them. I was a twenty-year season ticket holder so I spent a lot of money on tickets and merchandise. Not anymore. My reasoning is that they need me and my money; I don’t need them. I don’t miss sports at all. Now, on a personal note, there isn’t enough money in the world that you could pay me to buy a Samsung product. They screwed me back in the 90s when flip phones first came out. I bought two of them for $150.00 each. After about five or six months, my phone actually started coming apart at the hinges to the point that the wires were sticking out. I took the phone back to the cellular store and the guy behind the counter looked into his computer and said, “Yeah, that’s a KNOWN DEFECT” and proceeded to give me a new phone. A couple of months later, my wife’s phone started doing the same thing. So I took it back to the same store. This time, the guy behind the counter said I was out of luck and that I would have to purchase a new phone. When I told him that two months ago it was a “KNOWN DEFECT” he said that he couldn’t do anything about it but I could email Samsung ad basically plead my case. So I emailed Samsung’s CUSTOMER NO SERVICE department and got a reply that amounted to the digital finger. I have never nor will I ever purchase another Samsung product. My only regret is that I didn’t save the email address so that every time I purchased an electronic product I could send them a message showing them the receipt for the product and letting them know that they didn’t get my money. I know it doesn’t hurt their bottom line but at least I have the satisfaction of not giving my money to a company that doesn’t stand behind their product. redrazor October 26, 2023 - 12:16 PM - 12:16 PM BATTLE BOTS is the most fun show on all of TV! Thursday nights. SOOOO much fun and interesting. Always recorded if we can’t watch it at regular time. 👏give it a fair look-see and you will be hooked!! 3 The Professor October 26, 2023 - 11:22 AM - 11:22 AM I have always boycotted Acme Inc. Their products never work. 6 The Professor October 26, 2023 - 11:37 AM - 11:37 AM Macy’s. Just after we were married, my wife and I returned some wedding gifts (partial china sets, partial silverware sets, etc.). We were given store credit on what was essentially receipt tape. No gift card. The next day, her purse was stolen and had the credit/receipts in them. We went to the Sun Valley Macy’s where we made the return where we spoke with the manager. Manager said that we were SOL because they had no way to track these things. I pointed out the register that generated the paper, gave him the approximate time that they were generated, and asked him to pull the register tape from the prior day. No dice! He explained that they didn’t have them or couldn’t locate them (I forget which). We walked out of there pissed off and out approx $1,100. I wrote a letter to corporate and CC’d every executive that I could find. Finally, the regional manager called to arrange a meeting where he offered us a $200 settlement. Take it or leave it. We took it and I told him that I’d never shop in Macys again and that this would cost them alot more than $1,100. That was almost 30 years ago and I’ve kept true to my word. The only time I even set foot in that store is when I need to take a leak and their bathroom is the closest. Sorry, Hanne, but F Macys. 4 2 Cowellian October 26, 2023 - 3:58 PM - 3:58 PM I boycott Bud Light. Actually, I’ve been boycotting any drink with “Light” or “Lite” in the names since forever. 3 1 Chicken Little October 26, 2023 - 9:35 PM - 9:35 PM I wouldn’t necessarily say I boycott them, but I do avoid patronizing businesses that engage in practices I disapprove of, and do my best to support those that are more aligned with my own philosophies. 2 1 Comments are closed.
