.
Please be accurate.
.
The building was vacant, not “abandoned”.
.
Abandoned means that the building is vacant AND property taxes are long past due/delinquent and the owner has no intention of paying said taxes.

“He was runnin’ top speed ’til he was outta breath
Knocked an old man down and swore he killed him
Then he made his move to an abandoned building
Ran up the stairs up to the top floor
Opened up the door there, guess who he saw?
Dave the dope fiend shootin’ dope
Who don’t know the meaning of water nor soap”

Cause? … there’s so many fires started in that area… I think we all know the cause…

Two likely possibilities:
.
1. The mortgage papers experienced extreme friction against the insurance papers.
.
Or,
.
2. Homeless vagrant bums set it on fire.
.
Any other guesses?

These fires seem contagious:

In March 2017, Atlanta bums set a fire that melted I-85.

This morning, someone set a pallet fire under I-10 in Los Angeles that has closed the highway for the foreseeable future. The bums in the area are highly inconvenienced, but there don’t seem to be any major injuries.

You know, it’s easy to start a fire by rubbing two pallets together.

You can direct blame to the homeless parasites who break in and occupy every empty building. They certainly started a fire in there to either stay warm or cook something. It got out of control, and here we are now.

Squatter’s Squab

Snag a couple of young Pigeons, cut off heads, pluck & gut ’em.
(Just use a tangle of fishing line tied to a rock and throw some old fast food bun pieces on top of it they will get stuck).

Now preheat a pie tin over a can of Sterno and add 2 packets of KFC fake butter, place birds in tin back side down and cover with another pie tin or foil or something. Add a splash of fortified wine and let it reduce while stirring to get those tasty bits off the bottom.
Season the squab with salt and pepper turning to sear on all sides ….roast for about 10-12 minutes. Halfway through, baste the bird.
Rest for 5 minutes before serving, sit down & smoke a fat one.
Put the lid on the Sterno!

I was looking at that’s next door to this one a couple of months ago, wondering why the owners were not trying to rent it. It has been empty and seems unused since mid-2016. Homeless people started breaking into it around that time. The doors and windows were boarded up in 2018.

The building with the fire seems to be the one on the corner. It was occupied and in use when I went by a couple of months ago.

Correction – I went by the site and saw that it was the vacant building next to the corner that had the fire. The occupied/in-use building on the corner is fine. In the picture for this article most of the fire department vehicles were in front of the corner building and the smoke looked like it was from over there too.

The vacant building has extensive damage from the fire throughout all three “wings” of the structure.
