Happy Thanksgiving, and welcome to the Christmas holiday season.
Mr. Christmas, who passed away in October of 2017 at the age of 87, would light up his house on Olive Dr. in Concord every Thanksgiving at 7 p.m. for 36-years to kick off the holiday season.
It’s 7 p.m., so in an effort to keep his tradition alive, click ‘play’ on the video above and enjoy his show.
NOTE: His former house on Olive Drive now has different owners. This is an old video of a lighting from a few years ago.

He was a classic. If he saw the PG&E rates today, he probably wouldn’t do it. With that said, he made a lot of people really happy.
Thank you for posting this.
So nice the memory of this “tradition” is kept alive here.
Remember sitting out in our car admiring those lights on a freezing cold winter night; Mr. Christmas brought light to our world in a colorful and welcome way. Blessings on his name; may he rest in peace.
Great memories. Thanks for sharing!
It did not feel like Christmas until his lights were on. Great memorys.
House on Halifax goes live tonight
My husband took me by Mr. Christmas’ house one cold winter night on the back of his motorcycle when we first started dating. I grew up in the South Hayward/Union City area and was new to this part of Concord at the time. We married 4 years later and I absolutely love living here. One of my favorite memories. Merry Christmas all!
We used to go see his lights every year and he would come out in his light up jacket & say hi to my kids & remember the 3D glasses he always put out? He was a real treasure and he brought true holiday joy to this town. Thank you for remembering him each year. He handed out postcards one year that had a squirrel next to his picture & a whole little story about how squirrels tried to chew up his lights. We put it on our tree every year & it always makes us smile!
