Garbage transfer station prices contribute to illegal dumping.
Not unusual for trash laden vehicles to leave transfer station after they were told what it would cost to dump their load. Wasn’t unusual to see dumped loads on Loveridge Road and Antioch Pittsburg highway.
.
City might want to call Oakland,

Program like Oakland’s might save Pittsburg some money.

Uh, have you seen Oakland lately? Who wants to emulate that hellscape?

That may help but what Oakland is obviously not the answer. I work in Oakland often and can tell you that the City is an both an absolute cesspool and public dumping ground no matter where you look. Stiff penalties will help but we must enforce our laws on everyone, including the homeless.

Hint, . . .
most any week there is a selection of Free Range home furnishings along Kirker Pass Road.

I hope they are successful – Oakland & SF should be doing the same

Its always been so bad out there that they tell residents if something is dumped in front of your house its your responsibility to throw it away or get cited for dumping…they are so good to their'”people’

If you want illegal dumping to end get the dump fees down to a reasonable price.
It should not cost $35 + to dump a load of non toxic junk from a 1/2 ton PU Truck!
Then triple the fines to scare the cheapskates into using the dump!

Maybe start with Delta Fair/San Jose. Seems there is a business that dumps stuff they pickup for people instead of taking it to the land fill

Setmefree March 7, 2024 - 6:31 PM - 6:31 PM

Well you can start with the drug addicts homeless criminals

Feral concord criminals are clearly trashing the peaceful, law abiding neighborhoods in East county!

Or they should have there city workers pick up stuff dumped on streets. Ive seen city of concord employees pick up stuff that they dump on virginia lane regularly . Im glad they are quick to act on it.

The only way to combat this issue is to pay the people that take the refuse to the legal dumps. Not the other way around. The Governor could easily draft legislation. However, being surrounded by complete incompetence there is little chance this would ever occur.

If the landfill corporation’s weren’t so greedy and let the public dump free there would be no illegal dumping anywhere probably. They make enough money off our monthly garbage bills.
