Criminal Steals Armful Of Sweatshirts From Concord Foot Locker – Says “Have A Nice Day” On The Way Out

A criminal stole an armful of sweatshirts (about 10) from the Foot Locker in the Sunvalley Mall in Concord on Wednesday.

Witnesses say the man walked in, took the sweatshirts and coat hangers, and fled the store. On the way out, he said “have a nice day.”

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s.

Anyone with information should call the Concord Police Department.

This really pisses me off. The lack of customer service there, to force someone to carry everything in their arms without a carry bag is atrocious. I say cancel Foot Locker.

That’s too bad. Maybe if the stooge could simply fill out a job application, the Foot Locker. not only would hire him for gainful employment, but he could be a provider to his grateful family.

The Lone Star State ain’t the vigilante paradise y’all fetishize. It’s a place with some good folks and some bad folks and a lot of “meh” folks, just like any place else.

“A black male in his 20’s”
is that being racist 🤔 ?

Tired Bob March 21, 2024 - 6:49 AM - 6:49 AM

No V, that is not being racist. That is being descriptive so that people who were in the area can provide possible leads that mean something to help the police instead of wasting their time. If this criminal broke into your house and did this instead of Foot Locker you wouldnt purposely leave out race and age of the criminal you actually saw for fear of being labeled a racist. How would expect the Police to canvas the area and catch the person? Stop and search everyone in a mile radius? Describing what you saw is just that, Describing.

Seems to me Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao’s people are leaking thru the Caldecott tunnel to commit crimes in CoCo County.

This is what happens when there is an inconsistent application of law, order, and prosecution on a regional basis.

That mall is a lost cause. Last time I was there about a month ago oddly enough it was to see if Foot locker has something in stock for my nephew. Once I was walking towards the store there were teens on motorized scooters riding through the mall at a high rate of speed weaving in between people. Very dangerous. Then there was some chaos with a group of late teens/ early 20’s all with dark hoods running out of the mall (no idea what happened but it probably wasn’t good). I get to Foot Locker and I am not sure if employees are allowed to play music of their choice or what (vs the service most corporate businesses pay for for store music) but it was music that had every swear word you could imagine and talked about drugs and women. I was like ok, time to go and off we went. The staff probably never even noticed we were there as they were all having a social hour on their phones. Anyhow, lesson learned Sun Valley Mall never again! It’s just out of control there in every way possible. Thankfully my windows were still inact and I had my catalytic converter when I got back to my car so there was that.

Sadly, there have been lots of smash and grabs in that parking lot. So it’s best to leave absolutely nothing visible in your car and not open your trunk until you are leaving the mall. And you are right about Hilltop. I have a co-worker that went there for less than an hour and their car was stolen.

Unfortunately CA laws are very accomidating to the criminals (benefits outweigh the risks for them) while the law-abiding citizens suffer.

Why not shoplift? Shoplifters don’t get in any trouble, just break the law, grab what you want & walk away free as a bird.
It’s like illegally entering the USA… no punishment at all, in fact they are rewarded for breaking the law!
Money phones & transportation all paid for by us taxpayers who have no choice because we are governed by Democrats who don’t follow the rule of law either.

Better start carrying that “sock full of nickels” again!
Mace, pepper spray, squirt ’em & walk away…. don’t wait for cops to show up to arrest YOU and let the real criminal off like he’s the victim!
Enough of this sh*t… let’s take our cities back……nah! that would be “illegal”.

Unfotunately Malls are like a Disneyland for Thieves.

caskydiver March 22, 2024 - 9:07 PM - 9:07 PM

So sick of this. When are shopkeepers (and homeowners) gonna be able to shoot those that steal like this? Theft like this endangers the victim’s livlihood and an armed response is appropriate and, in my opinion, would definitely reduce the number of incidents like this. Just ask the Korean shopkeepers during the Rodney King riots how effective that is.

whenwilltheylearn March 22, 2024 - 10:22 PM - 10:22 PM

They need to go to court to ask permission to enforce theft and burglary laws, because someone might get offended if they dont,,but thats burglary.
