REMINDER: Congressman DeSaulnier To Host Town Hall On Safety At Local Refineries

by CLAYCORD.com
32 comments

Congressman Mark DeSaulnier announced he will host an in-person town hall on safety at local refineries on Monday, March 25 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. With recent safety incidents leading to investigations at two separate Martinez refineries, the Congressman wants to hear directly from the Martinez community. He will be joined by experts to discuss the recent refinery incidents, including representatives from Contra Costa Health, Bay Area Air Quality Management District, and the Chemical Safety Board.

The event will be held in the multipurpose room at John Muir Elementary School and will be streamed live on Congressman DeSaulnier’s Facebook page (facebook.com/repmarkdesaulnier).

CAUTIOUSLY INFORMED,
.
We’re much better off having Congressman Mark DeSaulnier as a “feckless, do-nothing, and pandering politician,” rather than having him be in a position to pass and implement his agenda for America.

Cautiously Informed March 26, 2024 - 4:22 PM - 4:22 PM

We are better off having a politician in place the actually does some good for the country.

WHENWILLTHEYLEARN,
.
Congresswoman Mark DeSaulnier’s townhall meetings are normally standing room only, often with several hundred attendees. He doesn’t have to hope an audience will show up, he has a dedicated following who show up at his meetings, along with non-followers who attend because they may be interested in the subject he’s speaking about. Why would you think he wouldn’t be able to attract an audience when he routinely receives 2/3 of the vote or more in his district elections?
.
Just remember that Congressman DeSaulnier is only in office today because he was a Republican, Republican voters put him in office, and a Republican governor appointed him to a vacant seat in higher office, which then set him up to switch parties in order to stay in office and seek higher office.

WHENWILLTHEYLEARN,

So, you really think the roughly 2/3 to 3/4 of District 10 voter who consistently vote for Congressman DeSaulnier and make up the majority of the attendees at his townhall meetings are all homeless individuals? You only have Republican voters to blame for putting him in office to begin with when he was running as a liberal Republican.

Why are you his spokesman?

He always has Town Hall meetings over things that most of us don’t care about. He wouldn’t dare have one about the really hot topics like 10 million illegals who snuck into the country:
; crazy crime, and the majority of American families having a hard time making ends meet because the democrat economy..

Will desaulnier speak about the $1,200,000,000,000 bill of additional government spending he signed yes to, as well as the $460,000,000,000 bill signed earlier in March? Will he explain how this fiscal control really helps with the current $34,596,676,500,000 national debt and the $213,990,500,000,000 in unfunded liabilities? Bet he doesn’t, or if he does, he’ll say how important it was to secure a bill that allows mass release and parole of illegal aliens and allows Remain in Texas, or to fund clothing for transgender children, or fund the WHO.

JEFF (THE OTHER ONE),
.
No, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier will likely not bring up any of the topics that you raised, he generally stays on topic. All questions asked must first be written down, they’re then filtered by his staff, they’ll first ask the questions that are on the topic he’s speaking about, if time allows they may ask questions that are off topic, but undesirable questions such as the ones you brought up would likely not be asked, but his staff may answer your questions by mail, email, or possibly by phone, if you left that information on your question card. If you choose to wait in line to speak to the Congressman directly, you may have to wait up to 60 – 90 minutes or longer, and you’d likely be unsatisfied with his answers and the brief time he’s willing to give you.
.
Congressman DeSaulnier’s typical answer to your national debt, deficit, and spending question would be that millionaires and billionaires don’t pay their “fair share” of taxes. He never really addresses the fact that we have an income tax and not a wealth tax, and just because someone is a millionaire or billionaire doesn’t necessarily mean they earn millions or billions in taxable income each year.
.
Congressman DeSaulnier’s typical answer to your illegal alien question is that “we have a broken immigration system, we need a pathway to citizenship for those individuals in the country illegally, and we need to increase the number of legal aliens we allow into the country each year.” He’ll also say that we need more legal immigrants to pay into Social Security and Medicare, basically describing them as a pyramid scam. We don’t have a broken immigration system, illegal aliens entering the US illegally does not equate to a “broken immigration system,” we do have a broken land and water border security system, a broken visa system due to the number of individuals overstaying their visas, and a broken asylum system.

The Canadian illegals are making the most of the America’s porous border. They just walk across through the woods.

SOMEONE should build a wall from there Pacific Ocean to Lake Superior before the Deep State replaces our native born population with illegal Canucks!

Illegal aliens are definitely entering the US over our northern border, but the vast majority aren’t Canucks.

thank you The Black Knight. I knew all this, generally, I just used it as an opportunity to highlight to those who are open to reality how large the national debt is. Guess you could say I was clever by half, but no matter.

there is evidence that a dearth of higher functioning brain cells is not a deterrent to such a gig, at least in Boston or a certain neighborhood in NY.

OREOOOH,
.
Our lying, cheating, crooked, corrupt, preacher, Assemblyman, and future State Senator, Tim Grayson, has made it clear that he intends on replacing Mark DeSaulnier in Congress. As bad as Congressman DeSaulnier might be, a Congressman Tim Grayson would be much worse!!!

gebertx March 25, 2024 - 6:58 AM - 6:58 AM

pandering to his groupies, he’s done very little, is not effective, and is more ideology driven than wanting to help his constituents, i wish he would work on insurance rates, homeless, crime, utility rates … basic stuff impacting his District, he has a core gaggle of followers that are more interested in “feel good” rhetoric than solutions and execution

THE BLACK KNIGHT March 25, 2024 - 11:47 AM - 11:47 AM

GERBERTX,
.
Having Congressman Mark DeSaulnier working on insurance rates, homelessness, crime, and utility rates would likely result in those things becoming worse, not better. Do you really want Washington having a greater influence over the entire country because of problems that California has largely created itself?

10
Fed Up March 25, 2024 - 10:12 AM - 10:12 AM

Never forget that Mark carried the water for the Public Safety Unions on the 3% at 30 + Spiking, that has bankrupted almost every Municipality and County LE Pension program in the State. And I am sure he was behind the Plan Labor Agreement for CNWS re-use, so nothing will ever get built there.

The entire Concord City Council is and has also been pro-PLA. They fear the unions when it comes to them running for reelection and seeking higher office.

THE BLACK KNIGHT March 25, 2024 - 1:53 PM - 1:53 PM

FED UP,
.
The majority of Concord residents don’t want the inland portion of the former CNWS developed at all. If it was left up to a vote of Concord citizens the former CNWS wouldn’t be developed at all, but would be declared open space. We’re still waiting for the Concord City Council to tell Concord residents how we’re actually going to benefit from this project.
