Democrats, repeatedly claim they care about children.

Yes, it’s the mean old democrats who won’t participate in the dog & pony show. Totally outweighs cutting SNAP funding.

“Kids, we know you are hungry. But AOC didn’t clap.”

8

Failing to acknowledging a child that has suffered thru brain cancer surgeries, REALLY ?
How many voters have children?
A former co-worker used to say CLM (Career Limiting Move). Call it what it was, a callus and brain dead move, that will haunt democrat congressional reelection campaigns. Until a better example comes along, it’s the new STUPID.
.
Hmm, . . . . . somewhat suspicious ? ? ?
“snap benefit cuts” are mentioned almost simultaneously by congressional democrats, alphabet propaganda media wing of democrat party along with obscure websites.
.
Mentioned a while back, “Mount Rushmore syndrome” also known as “Washington Monument syndrome”. National Park Service in 1969 faced budget cuts. Then director of NPS ordered popular Parks, such as Washington Monument and Grand Canyon National Park closed two days each week. Counting on the public to put pressure on congress.
https://tinyurl.com/tbu72rcz
.
Dig far enough into “snap benefit cutpanic, don’t be surprised to find this “CRISIS” is another example of “Washington Monument syndrome” scare tactic, being used to force a political goal.
.
Doubt “Washington Monument syndrome” is taught to high school student. To demonstrate how manipulation of public opinion for achievement of a political goal is possible.
.
Too many people these days, fail to realize, when they’re being played ! ! ! !

Ken,
.
You don’t have to depend on the federal government for SNAP/FOOD STAMP funding. Every state, county, city, and school district are free to develop and fund their own SNAP/FOOD STAMP programs. Maybe you should lobby your state and local governments to develop and fund their own SNAP/FOOD STAMP programs, so that citizens and residents don’t have to depend on federal government resources, since you’re so concerned about federal SNAP/FOOD STAMP funding being cut.
.
You’re even free to create your own non-profit to fund and/or feed your fellow citizens and residents in need, just as you’re free to self-fund food donations to your fellow citizens and residents in need of food.
.
You should also recognize that not everyone receiving SNAP/FOOD STAMP benefits are “in need” of those benefits. Just because someone qualifies for SNAP/FOOD STAMP benefits, doesn’t mean they’re “in need” of those benefits.
.
Everyone in Washington, D.C. knows how the game is played. Since you actually believe that federal SNAP/FOOD STAMP funding is being cut because Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez didn’t “clap,” then you have nobody to blame but Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, herself. You should work hard towards her being primaried and losing The People’s House Seat, which she been entrusted with and currently occupies.

Here for another weekend of hypocrisy theater….

The democrats conduct at the State of the Union speech was absolutely despicable!
I guess we can see who really is dividing the country! I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to sabotage good things for the country and his people. Did you see their faces? Think I’ll save them for Halloween ! Shame Shame Shame!

47
17

AL Green was given warnings to comply with the rules and he repeatedly refused.
He obviously wanted to be expelled and chose to be…. he got what he wanted.
Why cry about it?

31
13

Who is really crying here?

Al Green got what he wanted, attention. Heck, the Republicans even got what they want, a cause for outcry.

7
29

I’m not crying, just pointing out the obvious. And for a step further, Pelosi ripping up papers years ago was stupid too

5
11

MTG standing up for women, walls, and America is no comparison to that ugly, despicable display of dems NOT standing for a cancer stricken boy or for surviving family members of murdered girls. Concord Resident, you should be ashamed for even trying.

32
17

It was not a State of the Union address. It was simply a speech.

1
9

Do you also claim that Trump is not your President?

Like it or not, it was the State of the Union speech. As a teacher, I would expect that would not have to be explained to you, especially one so well versed in the constitution.

You continue to provide examples of why our students don’t understand the government.

6
1

@MDUSD Teacher
It was not simply a speech. It was President Trump’s Joint Session of Congress speech.

7

Dear Mr Musk,
I’m going to need you to send me a list of five reasons why your rocket failed again.

Even Gavin Newsom is trying to distance himself from the party.

36

Does anyone really care about that?

Typical liberal pretzel logic.

25
20

Elon is doing neither, has never done either.
What are you getting at?

12
32

Ken, I can explain it to you but I can’t understand it for you.

24
11

Elon is Not Finding Wasteful
Spending… He’s Finding Kickbacks,
Money Laundering & Theft.
No wonder they’re
screaming for him to stop.

21
13

Swap finding with getting and you hit the nail on the head!

5
14

Elon is finding proof of corruption while the Democrats lie and make excuses for that corruption.

13
5

“When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion–when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing–when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors–when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you–when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice–you may know that your society is doomed.” –Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged, 1957
.
Edward Dowd…”We and our children and our children’s children are like indentured servants, who will live their lives working to pay off both the principal and interest on tens of trillions of dollars stealthily borrowed in our name by others, spent by others, and given to others without our knowledge, input or consent.”

And there are those that continue to not see what is in front of them but windmills…imaginary enemies or evils.

30

You thought I’d feel better by reading something that confirmed my beliefs, didn’t you. 😔

9

“Who is John Galt?”

8

I assume this is not a serious question, since I assume you know that John Galt is a character in Ayn Rand’s book “Atlas Shrugged”.

3

I can’t fool you Hanne.

5

How does Donald Trump and Elon Musk not fulfill everything Rand brings up?

5

25

I don’t think that was a lie but some funding that was uncovered. But I think there was also bioweapons research using mice as delivery and why we’re seeing this increased infestation of those stinky rodents who seemed to have been trained to avoid mouse traps regardless of how sophisticated the trap.🤣🐁🐁🐁

17

I would… but the mice are being used for more involved studies, not just flipping them for mad scientist type fun stuff.

We don’t believe your lies, Snakekeeper.

The latest scare is saying that Gene Hackman’s wife died from Hantavirus. However the report from the medical investigator said that she had gone shopping the day before and the next day died. That didn’t quite sound right to me because it takes some time, days to die from that virus. It also didn’t sound right to a friend who is a medical practitioner and treated people with the virus and mentioned this on his podcast.

Why can’t Hunter Biden sell his super expensive private sale artwork anymore? I heard he’s now broke. I wonder what changed.
There is no way he was selling access to his dad, I refuse to believe it. Joe and Dr Jill are way too decent for that. I wonder how kamala’s supermodel stepdaughter’s carrier is going. These people are decent, come on man

17

Or you could charge 5 million dollars to have dinner?

14

If Methadone Is Free To Addict’s Cause They
Have A Disease… Why Is Chemo Not Free For Cancer Patients?

27
8

Because cancer is a big profit item for pharma. It’s not about curing the disease but treating it for the bucks. I could see way back in the late 1970’s that medicine was going be the next big game for the hucksters.

17
4

Maybe ask the guy who just raised prices on insulin.

You know what would make both free?

Universal Health Care.

10
37

I’d be POed too if I expected the government to take care of me and act as my mommy.

18
6

I’m glad you’re rich and not disabled. Not everyone is as lucky as you. My father went out on SS disability in1969 and collected until his death in 2001 without SS I don’t know what we would have done. Yes my mom worked. Sorry it’s the not the government being mommy. Life happens you never know what the future holds.

6
15

Rich? Not even close.
In my case it’s called ambition, a work ethic, having and going to a job every day, self sufficiency, self reliance and self respect – some of the things that made our country what it is today. Not reliance on someone or something else take care of mine or my families needs – which the democrat government pushes.

13
1

I guess you are saying if you collect anything from the government you have no ambition, self respect or work ethic? My father broke his back at work and was in chronic pain for years. He couldn’t take narcotics for it because he was allergic. Reality is some people need help even people that worked hard are ambitious and have good work ethics. I think it’s great that you never had to collect but not all people are so blessed.

4
11

Yes, you are only guessing. You could guess pretty much anything and or everything.
In reality, what I’m saying is that those that never contribute anything and then expect the government to support them are freeloaders. They are the ‘I need a mommy forever’ citizens.
On the other hand, those that worked for their benefits and contributed to the system, like your dad, are the ones that truly deserve it.

9
2

Democrats need to maintain a constantly dissatisfied underclass of people who depend on government provided welfare to subsidize their existence which keeps them unwilling to make any effort on their own to improve their situation other than simply continuing to vote for Democrats promising more of the same.

8
9

“In order for the Democrats to win the White House they don’t have to get 50 percent of the black vote or 60, or 70, or 80, or 90, Democrats in order to win historically need 90 to 92 percent of the black vote. If only 70 percent don’t like Donald Trump, that means 30 percent are open to his argument. If he gets half of those, he’s president.”
   –Van Jones May 2016
.

6
1

So many are so quick to assume that there’s a big part of the population is lazy and just want to collect free money or rely on the government. Those people do exist, but I think most people want to work and want to feel productive and contribute something.

2
10

Universal Health Care is absolutely NOT free.
BTW……
Those spoil sport South Korean “scientists have discovered a molecular switch that can reverse cancer—turning cancer cells back into their healthy counterparts”.

16
12

That would be joe biden. I would ask him why he raised insulin prices after Trump lowered them but unfortunately he hasn’t been able to answer for anything for years.

13
15

Ken,
.
“Universal Health/Medical Care” isn’t “FREE.” It never has been “FREE” and it never will be “FREE.” Canada and EU NATO-OTAN member countries can only afford to offer their citizens “Universal Health/Medical Care” because the United States subsidizes the military, security, and defense costs of those countries as a result of NATO-OTAN membership. If these NATO-OTAN countries actually had to pay the full costs necessary for their military, security, and defense costs, instead of living off of the US, then they’d never be able to afford “Universal Health/Medical Care” for their populations.

37
2

Move to Canada, everyone in BC goes over the border to the USA for medical care,or wait 3 weeks.
You are clueless.

2
3

Tariffs are on again then off. Trump cant make up his mind. Why doesn’t he like the new NAFTA deal that he signed in his last term?

Trump and DOGE’s chaotic effort tried to release billions of gallons of California’s water. Luckily they were stopped from wasting our water. What was their motivation?

14
35

Don’t blame Trump for mess Biden left him. It will take awhile and a lot of work to clean that up if at all possible.

27
14

Stopped?

It’s now clear that Army Corps officials knew that the sudden dam releases wouldn’t help Southern California, per the Post’s Friday piece, which featured information from an internal memo. But they dumped the water anyway.”

Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has paused a multimillion-dollar contract from the Biden administration to create a new Covid-19 vaccine.
“While it is crucial that the Department [of] Health and Human Services (HHS) support pandemic preparedness, four years of the Biden administration’s failed oversight have made it necessary to review agreements for vaccine production, including Vaxart’s,” Kennedy said.

The new vaccine scam is with the bird flu. Millions of healthy chickens are being killed. They are killed at our expense. We are reimbursing the farmers for the value of the chickens and its eggs. And then we are paying inflated prices at the supermarket because of the shortages.

Yes, it is the 21st century and our tax dollars are paying for animal sacrifice.

Ask yourself, if the bird flu is so prevalent why aren’t we seeing our cities littered with dead pigeons, seagulls and turkeys?

15
4

You are right…it is all a scam. I wish more public discourse on this subject, but it seems the menticide continues unabated. The supposed measles outbreak in Texas is also a fear mongering tactic to get more uptake of the MMR shot. No doubt about it…we are witnessing a global democide depopulation event.

401k’s are down but it’s Biden‘s fault. Oh wait a minute it’s Obama‘s fault oh wait a minute it’s Biden‘s fault…….

6

Yes, democrats destroyed this country financially, morally, and physically on the way out. We told you every step of the way.
You do realize that Blackrock could tank the entire global market in 10 seconds if it decided to dump stocks right? The daily fluctuations of the market are great for trading if you’re smart enough. We are loving this volatility. 401ks will be just fine.

5
12

The simple way to avoid the tariffs is for companies to manufacture their products right here in America (gee, I wonder if Trump has thought of that?).
And speaking of tariffs, why not check and see what tariffs other countries impose on us?
Trump says he wants parity, do you consider reciprocal tariffs to be unreasonable?
It may take some painful adjustments but the choice is fair trading practices or America can just keep taking it in the keister.
New deals are being negotiated.
As far as China, Mexico & Canada go those tariffs are a punishment for them failing to stop the illegal immigration & drug smuggling with much more than fair trade at stake.
Those countries have an obligation to make it stop, which they aren’t doing.
Trump is taking action to make it stop.
Stock Market is down? Time to BUY.

.
IF biden had imposed steel tariffs US Steel plant in Pittsburg might still be open. Paying living wages and propping up local economy, which took a hit after closure. Was very unfortunate Congressman George Miller wasn’t still in office.
.
As for stock market being down waiting on a couple more conditions to be met, to buy.

8
3

Original G,
.
I believe it was President Reagan who also imposed tariffs on steel. The problem was that US steel companies didn’t use those tariffs to be competitive and stay in business. They instead raised the prices of their steel to about equal the price of foreign steel with imposed tariffs, in order to make larger profits on the products they made. I hope that we don’t see a repeat of using tariffs for greater profits, instead of using these tariffs to remain in business, be competitive, and create jobs.
.
It was Congressman George Miller who convinced then Contra Costa County Supervisor Mark DeSaulnier to switch parties and become a Democrat, and it was also Congressman George Miller who endorsed then California State Senator Mark DeSaulnier to replace him in Congress. To this day, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier listens to the solicited and unsolicited advice of former Congressman George Miller.

18

Were three constants with US Steel upper management, greed,
short sighted stupidity and a rampant US vs THEM mentality, when
dealing with their workers. Managers were given bonuses for every
job they were able to eliminate. Another tactic was to contract out
jobs once performed by Union workers.
.
George was a strong and firm friend of steelworkers,
mark was a disappointment.

Exactly. And millions of people’s retirement portfolios have taken a major hit thanks to the Orange Felon’s chaotic approach to our economy. Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better.

6
21

“…people’s retirement portfolios have taken a major hit…”
.
Retirement portfolios are just what name implies, they’re for when you retire.
A person contributing same amount monthly is better off during times of a down market, due to dollar cost averaging. During a down market those monthly contributions buy MORE shares and as market goes back up those extra shares will increase in value. An as you get closer to retirement age you’ll move into less speculative, safer choices.

Thing about retirement, YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT.
Get educated so that statements such as ‘retirement portfolios have taken a major hit’, don’t panic you into making a decision that sabotages ending amount you’ll have for retirement.
.
Always consult a financial planner, preferably by age18 – 20 and see at least 4 or 5, that way you can gauge who is after commissions thru churn and who can actually be trusted.
When you sit down with them and they immediately say buy this and this and this, get up and walk out.

13
3

And still it’s way better than life under China Joe Biden, kingpin of the Biden crime family.

4

2
5

Concord Guy,
.
Investing in the stock market for retirement purrposes is a long-term investment. There will be ups and downs, there will be booms and busts, but if one is worried about day-to-day fluctuations in the stock market, then those individuals probably have no business investing in the stock market in the first place, they’d probably be better off investing in other, less volatile, investment options earning lower rates of return.

7
1

Part of “The Art of the Deal” is testing the waters. Trump does this a lot, so it doesn’t mean he’s actually going to do some of the things he’s proposed. He wants to know what will float with the public.
.
Unless people were asleep there was quite a contrast between the Trump and Biden years and it’s going to take some time to fix Biden’s inflation mess and money laundering giveaways to foreign interests.

10
3

Even some conservative talk show hosts are starting to be critical of Trump’s handling of the tariffs, not only that he imposes them, but also the off and on. Stock Market does not like uncertainty, and Trump is creating a lot of uncertainty.

4
11

And when stock prices drop low enough and the big guys buy it all up the grumpy lefties will say Trump did it just so his rich friends could get it cheap.

6
8

Behavior of many democrat voters and politicians towards President Trump’s speech and their 2024 election losses remind me of our young Great Granddaughter when the smell is obvious.

Regular posters here go on and on ad nauseum about their belief in the myth that President Biden and Democrats have screwed up the United States. This couldn’t be further from the truth. From an economic standpoint, in the last 35 years over six presidencies, the United States economy has followed a cycle: A Republican president presides over a recession, a Democratic president gets elected and cleans up the mess. Then a Republican gets elected and screws everything up all over again. It is a good bet this cycle will continue with this second Trump presidency. Only this time a Republican president (and convicted felon) is trashing the economy at a rapid pace. To those of you who voted for him, you have no agency to complain about your investment portfolios sinking. This is on you.

5
16

“… investment portfolios sinking”
.
Retirement portfolios are just what name implies, they’re for when you retire, their monetary value is realized upon retirement. A person contributing same amount monthly is better off during down market times, due to dollar cost averaging. In a down market those monthly contributions buy MORE shares and as market goes back up those extra shares increase in value. Think of a down market as stocks are on sale. Concord Guy,

Recessions don’t just happen. They are caused by unexpected short term shocks to the system, as well as longterm, metastasizing issues that aren’t dealt with early enough. Blaming the sitting President during the recession is easy and seems logical. But in reality, the blame goes a long way back, and is usually caused by things outside of any president’s control.
1969-1970- Nixon- lasts 11mo.
The government financed the Vietnam War through borrowing vs. increasing taxes. While this was happening, the Fed raised interest rates, compounding the problem. Nixon also took the US off of the gold standard and tried price controls to rein in inflation. Nixon’s fault.
1973-1975- Ford- 16mo.
Oil prices quadruple due to OPEC, raising prices for anything that uses oil in manufacturing or distribution. Not Ford’s fault.
1980- Reagan-6 mo. The Fed raised rates to combat the high rates left over from early ’73 and ’79 oil crises. Paul Volcker (Fed Head) realized that the only way to stop the runaway inflation was to aggressively raise interest rates to slow everything down. Not Reagan’s fault.
1981-82-Reagan-18 mo. The recovery from the 1980 recession was a head fake as fallout from the ’79 oil crisis (Iranian revolution) continued to weigh on an economy with a very aggressive monetary policy. Volcker stayed on course and killed the inflation monster. Not Reagan’s fault.
2001-2002 Bush-18 mo. The stock market was already reeling after pulling back from ridiculous valuations due to “irrational exuberance”. The 9-11 attacks pushed a jittery public to continue to sell stocks. Not Bush’s fault.
2007-2009 Bush Jr.-18 mo. Loose lending standards and low interest rates combined to create a housing bubble with unsustainable valuations. It came to a head with the failure of Lehman Bros in late 2008. The lending standards were set up when Jimmy Carter was in office. Bush even warned about the dangers of the lending standards before everything blew up. Not Bush’s fault.
2020- Trump-2 mo. Covid washes over the world. Governments panic and shut down everything. After a sharp 2 month slump, the market and economies regain their footing and run much higher. Not Trump’s fault.

So, you are right that the Reps controlled the White House when recessions have hit, but they were hardly the cause. They also were not necessarily the reason that the recessions ended. For fault and blame, one can point to: President Nixon’s socialist economic policies, OPEC greed, OPEC and Iran and horrible Fed policy from the early ’70s, Bin Ladin, Jimmy Carter, and lastly China’s reckless Covid experimentation.

Don’t believe everything that you see on CNN or Fox. They have an agenda but history does not.

And regular leftist liberal troll posters here are hypocrites and delusional.

Well…. it’s either that or they are just like a bunch of Goobers & Gomers and all the conservatives are Andy Griffiths who constantly have to straighten them out with patient (mostly patient) simple explanations that even lefties can understand.
There are also some real doozie lefties out there who fall into the Ernest T. Bass category and they are beyond hope.
That’s just the Mayberry analogy, there are a lot of others that are similar.

And just think, we almost had the female version of Otis Campbell as President.
Talk about dodging a bullet.

Such a welcome change from previous invertebrate presidents,

This morning,
“have instructed my Secretary of Commerce to add an ADDITIONAL 25% Tariff, to 50%, on all STEEL and ALUMINUM COMING INTO THE UNITED STATES FROM CANADA, ONE OF THE HIGHEST TARIFFING NATIONS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. This will go into effect TOMORROW MORNING, March 12th,”

Wondering if about now US Steel is regretting closure of Pittsburg, CA plant?

Canada has backed away from it’s planned 25% tariff on energy exports to the US. They announced this tariff in retaliation to Trump’s 25% tariff on Canadian steel and aluminum. Canada only rescinded their tariff when faced with an additional 25% (50% total) on the metals.

Mexico is suing USA gun manufacturers for all the guns Mexico seized from cartels that were made in America…. Problem is that over 70% of the guns were originally sold to the Mexican government for their army.
¡Lo siento México!

In Jan 2024, the Dem geniuses in CA decided to expand Medi-Cal to include and cover illegal aliens. They predicted that the cost to CA taxpayers would be approx $3 Billion per year.
Now Gavin is forced to borrow almost $3.5 Billion to pay for the line jumper’s healthcare because we don’t have the money.
$3 Billion stolen from you and me, and given to illegal aliens in 2024. $3.5 Billion (so far) of borrowed money, stolen from the taxpayers and given to illegals in 2025. These bonds pay interest, so the stealing will continue until the bonds mature. At that time, CA will need to steal $3.5 Billion from our kids to continue paying for past political mistakes.
Billions wasted every year by the Sacto Dems. High speed rail between Merced and Bakersfield. $24 Billion for homelessness that disappeared. Billions given to illegals. It never ends. Imagine how many roads could be fixed, how many parks and open spaces could be maintained, how much lower your taxes could be, if CA politicians were ousted?

“I think there is a deep sense of outrage and betrayal and this is not just progressive Democrats — this is across the board, the entire party,” New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told reporters Thursday night at a party retreat in Leesburg, Va.
“I think it is a huge slap in the face,” she said.

I’ll bet she balled her fists and stomped her foot down hard too….. I’m really enjoying the Democrat antics lately.

Why does anyone, anywhere give a hoot what AOC has to say. She’s nothing more than a doe-eyed idiot who can’t work a garbage disposal. All she is trying to do is elevate her “political status”. After his latest failure, AOC is actually getting some calls to primary Chuck. Probably from the same bunch that thought Mike Avenatti was worthy of their vote in ’20. Laughable!
