Pleasant Hill City Council To Discuss Allowing Delivery, But No Other Cannabis Businesses

The Pleasant Hill City Council will consider approving ordinances to allow up to two “delivery only” medical retail marijuana businesses in their city, and banning all other commercial cannabis enterprises.

Under the proposed ordinance, medical marijuana delivery businesses would be allowed in certain business districts. Any such business would have to be at least 600 feet from schools, day care centers or youth centers.

No other types of cannabis businesses – production, processing, or adult-use (recreational) – would be allowed in the city per the ordinance.

The Pleasant Hill City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. tonight in the City Council chamber at City Hall, 100 Gregory Lane.

California just can’t get anything right it seems.

You’re late to the game and still wondering how to play.

Check with your neighbor to the north, Oregon.

Now check with your constituents and see what the citizens want.

Complete fail at governance.

Make sure they don’t sell any of those vaping things though.

Get with the times, pearl clutchers.

Classrooms are overflowing because of “underfunding” yet they still want to demonize one of the safest drugs in existence.

Legalize it, tax it, and use the money to fund education.

Good for Pleasant Hill.

Legalized recreational (so-called “adult use”) cannabis is an emerging health disaster. Overall use has doubled in states who have legalized it, and youth habituation and intoxication is going through the roof. Parents should be aware vaping or smoking high THC cannabis products is rampant in schools. When kids hear “its legal” – use goes up.

And the marijuana “experts” come out of the walls again.

Mike, maybe this society should get back to parenting and do a better job of policing their children. I have used marijuana for decades. have no health issues from this. There is no evidence of a health disaster as you indicate. I have worked hard all my life, my house is paid for, cars paid for and have no dept. I sorry all that marijuana has ruined my life. Get it together. You probably voted for the train to nowhere as well.

A lot more parents are going to have problems with their kids. In Concord, it looks like the idiots who run our city are being overrun by the retail marijuana lobbyists.

Ask yourself, if there is going to be more tax revenue, where is it going to come from?

At what cost?

Greedy “purveyors” will become far more powerful. It will be almost impossible to get rid of them, once they become entrenched.

@Gone,

If you have been smoking it, please know that every puff contains 33 chemicals known to be carcinogenic. Like cigarettes, every puff buys you another ticket in the cancer lottery.

If you need to get high, better to eat the cookies or candy and ingest orally rather than smoking or vaping. Talk to your doctor and take care.

Oh, they’re pretending it’s not happening now? That’s quaint. Missed tax revenue.
