Not one of the better HydrantCides I’ve seen. Still kinda nice how it is split by the wires.

The bisecting wires are nice, also it appears to encompass the traffic signal and streetlight. Not bad.

We live two streets down and the power has now been restored.

In pursuit of the vehicle, or, in pursuit of the driver? Is the person who hit the hydrant and shown above the suspect or an innocent person?

Dr. Jellyfinger September 14, 2019 - 5:26 PM - 5:26 PM

He ran away after knocking down the tree so he’ll be charged with leafing the scene of an accident.

Thank you for clarifying!

Just went by it again and they can not get the water to turn off. Don’t be surprised if we don’t lose water pressure or have no water at all

Watch out for cars speeding down Whitman and nuala bypassing the accident trying to get to David.

Hopefully after the guy gets out of jail they send a bill for the mess.

Was this the same vehicle that CHP was pursuing on HWY 4 coming from Antioch? The car looks the same. If it is I’m glad they got him.

Likely, CPD was all over the area of Meadow/Oak Grove/Monument. He came up Oak Grove at a high rate of speed but was not being actively presued by CPD when he flew past me. As he encountered traffic approaching Whitman he simply lost it… CPD was on scene within a minute.

Dr. Jellyfinger, ‘leafing the scene of a crime” should get him so cage time, I hope that he will have to pay for a new, full sized tree and for the Concord water bill, I will not hold my breath, however!
Too bad they could not get the water turned off, do not the “powers” that be have plans in place for this sort of thing, that was a rhetorical question?!

WC Resident September 14, 2019 - 9:22 PM - 9:22 PM

Car wash, Concord style.

Jeff September 15, 2019 - 9:13 AM - 9:13 AM

He’s lucky I didn’t get my hands on him……………..108RS

Tim September 15, 2019 - 9:22 PM - 9:22 PM

Suspend his driving privileges-forever! Lucky he didn’t kill someone. It’s time to get tough on evaders.

Sam Malone September 16, 2019 - 8:15 AM - 8:15 AM

Make the driver pay off his debt to the city of Concord and other LE agencies that had to waste their time and lives chasing this fool. He endangered the public but of course he will only get a slap on the hand. I agree take away his driving privileges in California permanently.

Thank you Law Enforcement once again.
