A vigil will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday for the victim in an unsolved 1996 strangulation case in the unincorporated town of Crockett.

Priscilla Ann Lewis was a 21-year-old Vallejo resident who was found dead Sept. 24, 1996 in the basement bathroom in the Valona Square Mall, where she worked as a waitress at Four Corners Pizza at 628 Second Ave. in Crockett.

There were four businesses in the mall at the time and they shared the restrooms in the basement.

She was the sister of a friend of mine. So sad. Hopefully they find the jackhole who did this but odds are he’s already in prison somewhere.

On a side-note, Four Corners Pizza is very good. If you’re in Crockett you should stop by for dinner.

How do you know the murderer is a male if the person has never been caught?

Stop being sexist. Many women are in prison right now for murder.

“numerous pieces of evidence”

I hope the police have DNA from the scene and will cross-check it with these genealogy sites.

Miracles do happen.

It would bring some little closure to her family.

I wonder if the widespread use of surveillance cameras would have prevented the perp from attempting this crime. If a low life knows he or she could be on video, I like to think they would decide not to risk it. Of course, the “privacy” idiots would argue it’s an infringement on their rights, but you’re not in a private setting in a public place.

From all the videos that have been posted of porch pirates stealing packages from door steps, and of thieves stealing from retail stores, and robbing banks, it looks like they don’t care or are too stupid to realize they’re on camera.

Most of those videos did not result in the arrest of any suspects either ….
