The last time I went was 50 years ago. I don’t know how much it cost because my parents paid for it. But I’m one of five kids, and my parents didn’t have a ton of money. So, the fact that they were able to take us all to Disneyland would indicate that it was MUCH less expensive back then.

The last time I went to Disneyland was in 1980 on Christmas Day, when we were on our way to Tijuana. The temperature that day was in the high 70’s, and there was hardly anybody there on Christmas. There were absolutely no lines, so we had the entire park all to ourselves. I don’t remember what the whole trip cost because we drove down 101 and made a lot of stops along the way, (one of my favorite stops is Solvang with their great smorgasbord,) but if my memory serves me right, the cost of admission to Disneyland was about eight bucks, and I think parking was free, because I don’t remember paying.

Last time I went to Disneyland in 1991 with a group of volunteering with Campus Life, so I didn’t pay, but I think we got a group discount for 28.50/pp

Went about 28 years ago. Got a two-day pass. It wasn’t cheap back then. Lines were long, and our son got hot/tired quickly. Simply not worth it. But we are going to a two-day whitewater kayak class in North Carolina next week. Probably more fun and less expensive than Wokeneyland.

Many years ago when it was reasonably priced, lots of fun and unwoke.
Never again. RIP Walt Disney if you can.

..about 10 yrs ago ….we had a 3 day pass last time for both parks and it was around $175 each for the 3 days.

SmileWC August 5, 2022 - 1:11 PM - 1:11 PM

Planning a trip right now – Went last year and it was reasonable, 1 day, 1 park for 2 (tickets $104 each), hotel about $350-2 nights with free shuttle to park, food – like restaurants everywhere-a bit pricey, but the little bakery wasn’t bad for cinnamon rolls and coffee, Bengal Barbecue for lunch-reasonable to share, gas (cheaper than now I’m sure). Overall, not too bad. This year’s trip will be more-everything is higher.

January 2017 with one of our our daughters, her husband and our one year old grandson. I don’t remember what it cost. It was raining when we got there and we had a good time. With the direction Disney has gone, we’re not going back. We went almost every year for several years when our kids were growing up.

Never been and no desire to go.

jprcards August 5, 2022 - 2:11 PM - 2:11 PM

Honestly I have never been there and I actually have never really had that much desire to go there…..And these days with all the garbage I keep hearing about it there is no way that I would even go near the place. I have of course heard that it used to be a lot of fun.

LocalAntiLib August 5, 2022 - 2:15 PM - 2:15 PM

Late 60s when I was a kid even had our Jr high graduation there, they had tickets for the rides then and my dad reminded me they were like ke 10 bucks for a ticket book that covered just about what we wanted to ride. It was nice then as well with no lines, decent people working and going there unlike today’s diverse crowds..
You couldnt pay me to go there nowdays with the crowds and ridiculous diversity of people there..forget that crap.

Cowellian August 5, 2022 - 3:01 PM - 3:01 PM

About 1995, I took the kids shopping at the Pet Store in Clayton Station. Outside the store, I let each of them register for a free trip to Disneyland. One of them won with tickets to the park, airfare to John Wayne, rental car, and two nights in a hotel near the park. We had a great time with an excellent price.

Tsa August 5, 2022 - 3:07 PM - 3:07 PM

1990’s, paid a reasonable amount but will never go again. It used to be a good place, but just like California, it no longer is.

James August 5, 2022 - 3:23 PM - 3:23 PM

Went in 1977 when we lived in Canada.then moved to Calif in 1978 and havent gone once, even worked at Disneyland hotel (diff company0 and still never went.It has made Anahiem a tourist trap for criminals to prey on and hookers to be on every corner.and at one time had dozens of sleazy motels they eventually tore down and put a more expensive sleazy hotel in its place.
This why there is EuroDisney and Disneyworld. Before they did gthat I would laugh at the fact that foriegners saved up for years to come to Anahiem,an awful awful place.

FPN August 5, 2022 - 3:25 PM - 3:25 PM

Took my granddaughter about 10 years ago. All together tickets were about $350.00. Hotel was $150.00 a night and in walking distance of the park. Our first day there I thought the busses that took you to your car, drove you around the park. It was not until we drove right out of the park that I realized what I had done. The second day I had to be escorted back to our hotel by Anaheims finest men in blue because I could not find my way back to our hotel. We had driven to the beach. I was very lost. My full tank of gas was on empty, my wallet was in our room, my phone was ready to die, and I was in a bathing suit with only a towel tied around my waist. Good times.

It’s called a “map”
It’s rule #1 when on vacation.
It’s in the common sense file that can’t be taught.

DD August 5, 2022 - 3:26 PM - 3:26 PM

I used an “E” Ticket to ride the Matterhorn is how long ago. From what I keep hearing it isn’t worth the exorbitant cost these days. Sad.

Reasonable August 5, 2022 - 3:30 PM - 3:30 PM

January 2006 and stayed for 3 days. Stayed at the Grand Californian. A bit expensive but not like today. Also went to Knotts. Since it was after the xmas holidays it was a bit cheaper. Don’t have a hankering to get back there any time soon. Kids are grown now.

Cellophane August 5, 2022 - 3:36 PM - 3:36 PM

I went there once not long after it opened.

I didn’t like it very much. Too many people.

Never went back.

MY Dad was not happy with the entrance fee.

I don’t remember what it costs back then but $30 seems to ting a bell.

several years ago and even then it was overpriced. It was an add-on to So Cal for a family reunion in San Diego.

The Fearless Spectator August 5, 2022 - 4:38 PM - 4:38 PM

Eleven years ago and through a corporate deal went to Club 33 also. It was terrific and I’ve tried to forget how much we spent.

We are done with it now for two reasons:

1-They’ve become political.
2-A certain population likes to have violent family brawls on premises.

Disneyland perpetuated innocence and wonder in children.
Now it does neither.

$$$$ Standing in line land…. hated it.
Had to spend 3 days faking a smile.

Captain Bebops August 5, 2022 - 6:09 PM - 6:09 PM

I’ve only been there once and that was in 1996 with friends from work as we were in town for a tech show. I don’t remember what it cost but maybe $25 or less. We noted that some of the rides were starting to break down or show wear. Not something I would want to do again. I must be a real snob. 😜

PS: the tech parties were more fun and lavish.

GardensMom August 5, 2022 - 6:23 PM - 6:23 PM

Went for a quick 2 night, 1 day in the park, trip in April on the way to AZ. Hotel: free (won a 2 night stay on a Facebook promotion), 2 1 day tickets ($109 each, mostly paid with Visa rewards $). Food was less than $200, mostly paid with rewards $, breakfast was included at the hotel.

We went to both disneyland and disneyworld last year. It was a bit pricey, but after doing 60+ work weeks, it was nice splurging for the experience to unplug. Not sure if we would do this again. LOL

For disneyland, we went early summer. We spent about $3K for a three nights at the Grand CA, with two park hopper tickets between disneyland and CA adventure. We went around the summer of 2021, just when they started to ease the COVID restrictions. The crowds were actually not too bad, as disney was limiting access.

We then went to disneyworld in Florida. I would say with the airline flights and a week doing split stays with Wilderness Lodge, Rivera, and the Contemporary, that trip was around $7K with park hopper tickets. Attending the food and wine festival at Epcot was our favorite experience.

Yeah, 2021 was our year of disney, but I do agree with all the woke stuff going on, that has discouraged us significantly. The price points are significantly higher and a lot of the perks have been removed. I think we got our fill for awhile.

Hanne Jeppesen August 5, 2022 - 9:47 PM - 9:47 PM

I have never been to Disneyland. When my daughter was 4 years old, I was invited to visit a former boyfriend (he was just a friend then) who lived in Orlando, so I could take my daughter to Disneyworld. I don’t remember what it cost me, I paid for everything, the plane ticket from SFO to Orlando etc. My exhusband took my daughter to Disneyland, and now that my daughter live by Pasadena and have children herself, she has taken my granddaughter to Disneyland. She did mention it was expensive, even though it was just the 2 of them and they didn’t have to spend the night since they live in the area.

CJRN August 5, 2022 - 10:55 PM - 10:55 PM

Last Disneyland trip was about e0 years ago.
Can’t recall the price.
I really don’t enjoy crowds, so I really have no desire to return

Would rather go camping

1972….Senior All-Nighter. The Grassroots, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Robert John and Helen Reddy played shows that night, Helen Reddy played to almost an empty venue….lol. I think the whole trip was $80 or so, a week’s worth of net pay for me at the time but it was pretty fun.

ConcordMom August 6, 2022 - 12:13 AM - 12:13 AM

Last week. Had a blast. For two adults and one child, hopper and magic genie aka fast pass, tickets cost $1,100. Hotel cost $900 down the street. Been going since I was a kid. Continued with kids. Still feel the magic. Even marched in band as a kid in the Aladdin parade in 94. Better than any other theme park out there.

Rich August 7, 2022 - 7:23 AM - 7:23 AM

Disney puts its money where its mouth is for supporting Vets. I bought military tickets for the in-laws who helped out during my deployments at about 30% off. The trip to Disney world is still going to be expensive for lodging, food, rental car etc. at least with the ticket discount it opened the door
