BART’s Mask Mandate To End On Oct.1

BART’s mask mandate will expire on October 1.

The mandate was approved by the BART Board at its July 28 meeting. Once the mandate expires, BART will strongly encourage riders to wear masks in the system.

Free masks will continue to be available at Station Agent booths and from BART PD personnel.

Follow the SCIENCE!!!

WC Resident September 24, 2022 - 6:12 PM - 6:12 PM

Science apparently says that the virus looks at and observes the calendar. Up to midnight on September you are required to protect yourself and maybe others by wearing midnight. At the stroke of midnight on October 1 the virus deactivates itself and you don’t need masks. Isn’t science amazing?

I learned from board of directors ‘Janice Li’ to Ignore BART and their rules. It was Li who was protesting BARTs no eating on trains or platforms policy.

BTW, Nobody followed that draconian mask suggestion anyways.

Why wait? Power-hungry jerks.

Heard on KCBS this morning

a spokesperson actually said: When you buy a ticket you were required to wear a mask.

so…

does that mean if you jumped the gate……
???

spokespeople from BART also strongly encourage riders to buy a ticket. You tell me where the enforcement comes into play.

Over here in our free state, some places still have a box of masks if you want to wear one. Most people don’t. We follow the actual science here. If you feel sick, stay home. Avoid casual hook-ups. Eat meat and three at least once a week, and drink an adult beverage when you grill or light your bonfire.

BART is the one place I would wear a mask.

WC September 23, 2022 - 1:05 PM - 1:05 PM

In the place I went today (small offices for businesses) no one had masks on save for one office with 2 people, and both had masks on. Go figure.

ConcordRez September 23, 2022 - 1:49 PM - 1:49 PM

On most of my trips, maybe two other people besides me wear masks

sideline September 23, 2022 - 3:11 PM - 3:11 PM

it’s about time.
interestingly enough, lots of people followed BART’s mask mandate to the bitter end….
Next; remove the “no food on BART” rule…..
I am always surprised to see all their rules posted everywhere, yet,I see people smoking, eating and drinking (and urinating), and nobody does anything about it.

ON DA September 23, 2022 - 3:39 PM - 3:39 PM

On Oct. 2nd. it will read wear masks.

Wanda September 23, 2022 - 4:23 PM - 4:23 PM

Well, 50-60% of the people in the bart cars are not wearing mask. Nobody is enforcing the mask mandate. So those mandates are useless. BTW after being to the East Coast for 2weeks and coming back to our BART I can tell you that the more entitled and inconsiderate passengers are here. I never paid attention before but the difference between DC and NY vs CA is huge.

Concord Guy September 26, 2022 - 9:45 AM - 9:45 AM

Just another reason to not ride BART.

p.s. The pandemic is not over.
