My Assessment of everything currently at
hand:
.
1. Deep State drags out Midterm results so
we don’t get to see our Victory all at once,
diluting it.
.
2. Since we didn’t get the One Night POW! of
Winning back Congress it artificially feels like
a let-down.
.
3. Artificial Let-Down = Blood in the water =
All assets Deployed
.
4. Every remaining “Conservative Pundit”
sleeper is given the Order to “Bury Trump
once and for all”
.
5. All the big names come out of the
woodwork to blame this (not yet realized by
most to be Artificial) “Let-down” on Trump.
.
6. Create the narrative that Trump is
“done”
while also Touting DeSantis as a way to both
bury Trump while pitting the two biggest
Anti-SJW camps against each other.
.
7. They forget that we’ve watched wave after
wave of these style Psy-ops over the past 7
years and aren’t falling for it. Instead we’re
kicking back and letting their agents expose
themselves while still supporting both Trump
and DeSantis.

Trump worked his butt off on this election and cannot be blamed for any of the losses. However Trump continues to be a irritant to half the country and seems to be blaming other Republicans. I really don’t see him winning in 2024. Kevin McCarthy, Mitch Mcconnell and Trump have to go. Desantis is good and so are a few more Republicans. As far as the loss goes there is something to blame and that is the Supreme Court. Coming out with the Roe vs Wade thing. That was disastrous in a close election.

SAM November 11, 2022 - 9:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Nope. You really think anyone is falling for this? Defending murdering babies is why you will never have the high ground. You are another faker. I see your posts and knew you were going here at some point. Good luck rino rickey. Your worse than hanne for this one.

Ricardoh November 12, 2022 - 9:48 AM - 9:48 AM

Sam I am sorry you have the wrong interpretation of what I said. Being for or against abortion does not make you a rino by the way.. My opinion on abortion is that it should be legal for a short period of time. I am a conservative but not a religious conservative. My point is that the Supreme Court brought out the liberal vote that just wasn’t there before their announcement. If you can’ see that it is your problem.

13
4
SAM November 12, 2022 - 3:14 PM - 3:14 PM

I can’t see that. Nobody is actually pro abortion except the wackos. It’s a small fringe group of wackos who are actually for killing kids. I do not believe it’s enough to register in an election.
I said you were a rino because you are pushing the rino narrative about desantis. I’m not religious per say, killing babies is not cool. Simply not cool. I don’t care what the excuse is, I’m pretty sure we’re not supposed to do that. I could understand rape and health of the women but this has gone to far. If you haven’t seen what California democrats are trying to pass now, you better look. Post birth abortion is a sick proposition. I say shut it all down.

2
12
Ricardoh November 12, 2022 - 5:34 PM - 5:34 PM

Now you are calling Desantis a rino? Get real. I love Trump but there is too much against him to win anything anymore. That’s just the way it is. There are a few other conservative guys out there beside Desantis that I like. They don’t yet have the weight but they will.

3
4
SAM November 12, 2022 - 6:02 PM - 6:02 PM

No. I don’t know if desantis is a rino. But I do know the rino media narrative is attempting to make him that. When paul ryan is pushing desantis, it should cause you to question what the move is. Trump will probably run in 24. I’m not interested in anyone paul ryan or the RNC in pushing. I hope ron desantis is a good guy but he’s always been slightly suspect. He could also be working with Trump to shift the media attention and spotlight the fakers. Regardless, it’s obvious the media is pushing a riff between Trump and RD. Who started it?? Trump did…think about it. Why?

Chuq November 13, 2022 - 2:12 PM - 2:12 PM

Sam you say “Nobody is actually pro abortion except the wackos” but in pretty much every state access to abortion rights is the majority opinion.

Is Kansas a blue state? Because you saw how Kansans voted when abortion rights were put on the ballot.

The Dobbs decision helped a lot of people make up their minds in this last election.

@Sam, “post birth abortions” do not exist. By definition, to be pregnant means the fetus is in the uterus. Once the fetus is not longer inside a uterus, the pregnancy is over and there is no longer a way to perform an abortion.

If you can’t grasp this simple concept, you have no business making choices about someone one else’s medical care.

Your name checks out. Even when you post the same thing twice. 😂😂
I have every right to make (and I will) choices about what medical care someone receives. Especially when some nut bag woman thinks it’s ok to murder another life because…promiscuity and feelings. The body inside a woman’s body is not her body. Roe v wade was built on lies. Feminism is a pandemic. Humanity and the normal family will dominate every time. Deal with it. Teenagers are the most conservative generation ever because of all this nonsense. God bless them. The future is conservative.

People in California must be having a lot of sex. People in California must be the “Unprotected-Sex Capital of the Western World” to be so desperately in need of a whole industry devoted to abortion that it must be financed by taxpayers. Either that, or those who avail themselves of these services just must all be really, really stupid.

Captain Bebops November 12, 2022 - 10:45 AM - 10:45 AM

Trump had no business running for President. As I’ve said many times he should have tried his hand at being NY governor first and I would bet anything that would have been more than enough of politics for him. Hillary had no business running either. Bernie Sanders got far more turnout than Hillary did at events anywhere. I recall the huge turnout he got in Vallejo. Hillary declared herself winner in the 2016 CA primary before the polls closed. That’s considered very poor form. I think the weather would be a lot colder than it is now if Hillary had become President.

There are many conservatives as well as liberals who disdain the two party system. I recall the 1980 election where we had many different parties running candidates for President.

Ricardoh November 12, 2022 - 11:28 AM - 11:28 AM

Trump did an amazing job as president. Between the democrats, the press, and covid they turned it into a circus. Trump talks too much at times but what he says is true. Should he step aside now? Yes.

Captain: I know of a small country in Europe that has 23 different political parties and to form their coalition governments is a constant food fight and shifting of alliances. I suspect the only thing worse than a two-party system, is a multiple party system.

Captain Bebops November 14, 2022 - 9:15 AM - 9:15 AM

Probably true of a small country but we only had a small number of parties in 1980. Cost governors the number.

jjshawk November 14, 2022 - 8:05 PM - 8:05 PM

Why, f?$& around with, “roe v. wade” during an election year? There’s a lot of swing voters who will vote for the dark side if their “right to choose” is taken away. Conservatives can be idiots, they will follow their principles, through and through, even if it screws them come election time, all the while, the liberals (having no principles) will do whatever it takes to win an election. What the F__%?!!!!!!!

JWB November 12, 2022 - 6:27 AM - 6:27 AM

Trump is doing to the Republican Party the same as he has been doing to the whole country. The one time Lindsey Graham was actually right:

Destroyed? What is your problem? You sound like five year old. But rest assured I’m not going to join the Lindsey Graham fan club just because he was once right six and a half years ago. I have a broken watch for sale to you. I mean this watch is right twice a day so you must be so excited to have it.

But here is another quote for you this time from ultra MAGA Mo Brooks in an interview today with AL.com: “Donald Trump has proven himself to be dishonest, disloyal, incompetent, crude and a lot of other things that alienate so many independents and Republicans. Even a candidate who campaigns from his basement can beat him.”

So, what’s YOUR problem, besides having a bad case (and I mean bad) of TDS? Better keep your watch, son; as you said, it’s right twice a day, and that could be something for you to aspire.

Why are you so obsessed with this cult of personality. I know that’s the diet you are feed by the vast propaganda machine. But you seem to appear stuck back in high school where it was all about who is the coolest kid in class.
How about start focusing on solutions. That’s exactly the reason the “R” had the worst midterm performance of any opposition party in at least one hundred years.
And your leader Trump is like the Kardashian of politics all fluff choreographed rallies but no substance. Americans are sick and tired of it.

JWB November 13, 2022 - 4:41 PM - 4:41 PM

Since we got the posse together, please show me where I’m on a crusade pointing out corrupt politians? Yes I do think Trump after having seen his record was the worst president at least in my lifetime. But show me where I called him corrupt. I think he has no business being anywhere close to the WH. He doesn’t have anything that would qualify him to be fit for President.
Why you think that Hunter Biden is a politian? What elected or appointed office does he hold? Why do you believe only Democrats (Joe Biden, Barrack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton or Gavin Newsom) would be under your definition “corrupt”. It is quite clear that simply use the term “corrupt” for politians you don’t like.
I know none of you will answer these questions……..

7
7
Gittyup November 13, 2022 - 7:33 PM - 7:33 PM

Regarding Hunter Biden, “you’re known by the company you keep” and apparently he is quite well known to his father, Joe Biden, from late night calls getting their stories straight.

Trump heads a successful multinational corporation worth billions of dollars. If that doesn’t make him more qualified to sit in the White House than a blustering Biden, I don’t know what does. Biden has not accomplished a thing in all the years he has served in office.

5
6
JWB November 13, 2022 - 7:40 PM - 7:40 PM

Since you clearly don’t want to answer this. Let me tell you why would you even ask such a question. Of course if there was credible evidence of corruption independent of party affiliation it would need to be prosecuted in a court of law. Now with credible evidence I don’t talk about your propaganda rags or about the fake prosecution by special counsel Durham, which was huge embarrassment, but actual real world evidence.

Lindsay’s quote was from May of 2016. I think Trump and the Reps won pretty big in November of 2016. So in this instance, Lindsay was very wrong. That makes you very wrong as well (and as usual).

And don’t even try to gas light Claycord into believing that Lindsay was talking about Nov 2022 when he made his comments. It must hurt pretty bad when you agree with the opposition, even when the opposition position was proven incorrect OVER 6 YEARS AGO.

JWB November 14, 2022 - 12:29 PM - 12:29 PM

Now if that’s not a reason to celebrate it took Trump six years to finally destroy the Republican Party and not two.
And it is quite interesting that your objection to Graham’s quote (which of course did not give a time frame for the destruction) is not that the Republican Party is not being destroyed by Trump in 2022 but that the Party survived in 2016.

The Professor November 14, 2022 - 2:35 PM - 2:35 PM

Keep spinning Lindsay’s comments, JWB. His comment pertained to the 2016 election. Not my fault you’re too thick to understand that.

And I have no objection to his words, as wrong as they were. I’m just pointing out the fact that you are agreeing with an incorrect statement. Stupid is as stupid does.

I like to see the plodding bias of the Leftist Wikipedia to see who the Lefties prefer. DeSantis’s bio is dry and fact based. If you look at Trump’s bio it is very different. In the first couple of sections (I stopped counting after that), there were 14 full paragraphs and every single one of them had some kind of negative spin to it about him. It reads like propaganda from a time I will not mention. It’s clear who the Left prefers. And also clear how they are so caught up in their game that they don’t see how juvenile their stuff looks. Every paragraph.

That’s interesting, after all you have been telling us that COVID was a hoax. How can any drug be effective for the treatment of a disease that doesn’t exist?
1) And let’s look at the facts: Trump claimed to take Hydroxycloroquine for prevention. We know it did not work
2) When he was on his death bed and airlifted to Walter Reed he was not treated with Hydroxychloroquine but with the Regeneron monoclonal antibody. Why not if Hydroxychloroquine was the effective therapy as you claim?
3) Afterwards Trump elected to receive the COVID mRNA vaccine? Why would he do it if Hydroxychloroquine was an effective treatment?
Or do you actually think Trump is the deep state? Just wondering.

3
18
JWB November 12, 2022 - 5:05 PM - 5:05 PM

We are now more than two years into COVID illness and SAM still doesn’t get the most basic information. COVID is the disease caused by a novel coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. It is not influenza, more commonly “flu”. Wile influenza also is caused by virus it is caused by an orthomixovirus which is a different family than coronavirus family.
Hydroxychloroquine is a chemical derivative of Quinine (not Quinne). It has been used to treat Malaria, which is not a viral disease but caused by a parasite.
Maybe you want to re-read the wikipedia site you posted and check whether it says anything about being effective to treat viral diseases?
And here is a pro-tip nobody blames you for being uninformed and gullible but that’s still no excuse to call others “liars”.

India used Guduchi as a treatment. It’s known in the west at Giloy and you can even grow it. I understand it makes a good house plant. India uses it as an alternative to quinine and it is very bitter. I had some on hand for years. Sore throat or sniffles? It knocked it out fast. The problem with both is there’s no profit in them and big pharma wants big profits. And the objective of course was for people not to get well anyway. That would go against the narrative.

JWB November 14, 2022 - 7:49 AM - 7:49 AM

Janes since you’re asking. He went to Walter Reed for some health checkup on November 16,1219. This is how it was reported:
“Shortly before 3 p.m. on Nov. 16, President Trump arrived at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. The White House pool reporter on duty described the president as leaving the White House a half-hour earlier, “wearing a long dark overcoat and carrying what looked like a tan rectangle-shaped folder or envelope under his arm.” Until the presidential motorcade arrived at the hospital, though, news of Trump’s departure wasn’t reportable.”
So the answer to you question “would they usually drive him there”? Would be YES!

We need a National Election reform. You go to the polls and vote a paper ballot on election day and if you are infirm or are traveling you can apply for an absentee ballot. Half the country will never trust an election if that doesn’t happen. What is happening now in a few states is criminal. No registering on the day of the vote either. The other thing is there has to be many more places to vote. Standing line for hours is crazy. All easy things to do.

I believe it is clear that if Trump gets the nomination, the Democrats will easily win in 2024. Trump needs to give it a rest but his ego is just too large. DeSantis should get the nomination and yes select a female V.P. out of Tennessee or South Dakota. Trump is a poison pill. He reminds me of the fat wealthy kid in elementary school who never understood the word NO and this is coming from a life long Republican. Go Ron!

Trump will split the party so that the next Socialist will win in 2024. It’s time to move on from him and get the
DeSantis/Gabbard ticket going. Trump will spend the next 2 years defending himself vs the DOJ. Not a good look.
Bottom line is the next R candidate will have to win over independent/moderate votes to have a chance. Trump is not that candidate.

JWB November 14, 2022 - 9:29 AM - 9:29 AM

Why anybody would think that Trump cares about the Republican party or conservatism is simply crazy. For Trump it is all about himself and his ego. For years when his business centered around Manhattan, obviously a proud liberal bastion he was a card carrying Democrat, had the Clintons as guests for his third marriage, was pro-choice because it was what helped him and his business.
Once the country elected the first black President and the Tea Party started to rise he noticed that there was a large potential of angry white Americans. He tested the waters by making himself a prominent birther and figured that this could be his ticket to feed his ego to become President.
He cares about nothing but himself, so of course if his ego gets bruised and he would lose the nomination he would simply take the Republican Party down with him.

You know Biden dodged it as well when he was in college, then law school and then claimed his asthma as a child prevented him despite the high school athlete he was … or are you just picking facts to support your narrative?

Clinton and George Bush also deferred ….

Trump deferred …

If you are going to ask a question, please be prepared with all the facts so we the people can make informed decisions. Your question is a prime example of what is wrong in media (main stream, social, political, etc) because people ask a question that tries to make someone look bad without presenting all the facts.

What are you talking about?
Frank was trying to be smart, and I called him out on the fact that his (yours?) presidential choice also dodged the draft. Nothing more, but you took as an opportunity to challenge how I raise my children.

Personally I don’t think either is qualified to be president for many many reasons. Trump is antagonist, Biden can’t speak and there is a perception of him around females (regardless of age) and both dodged the draft. I think if you dodge the draft, you should not be allowed in a political office. I am not saying you must serve to be president, it I don’t think of you were asked to and you failed, that you should be allowed to run. Of course, I also think if you are found guilty of a misdemeanor or greater crime you should also be disqualified.

As for my parenting, I teach my children to look at all information and angles before making a decision – not just pick/choose facts that fit your narrative

I believe Trump had five, the same as Biden. Clinton and Obama never served eithe, as well as a few other presidents. Not sure what difference that makes though. What we need is another president who will put America first, as Trump did every day of his presidency. Will that be Trump again, or maybe DeSantis? Who knows. But what we don’t need is what we’ve got now…a president in Cambodia who thinks he’s in Columbia, giving away the store. (That is when he’s not showering with his daughter).

So we have Billlions to give to another country but we cannot house our homeless vets?

We have billions for another country, yet children in our country go hungry.

Do you starve your children as well so that the homeless in your front yard have food and shelter?

Sorry, we should be taking care of our own basic needs (food/shelter) before we are handing out billions to other countries.

Actually Janes this election proved that Americans are capable of split-ticket voting. There was a great fear that people’s political identities had been calcified and no one would ever think of voting for the other party. But in Georgia we see that plenty of people voted for both Kemp and Warnock (presumably because they saw what a terrible candidate Walker is).

Both Democrats and Republicans are going to need to come to terms with the fact that the members of the other party aren’t going away. If anyone’s plans for governing the nation rest on the other side not existing or being voted out entirely those plans will fail and we are going to watch every effort at meaningful change get filibustered.

Divert attention, change the subject back to 2020…. DNC standard manuever.

Here’s a laugh for you JWB. It was proven the ballots were transported from NY to PA and the reason given was:

Craig Lehman, the commissioner for the County of Lancaster, PA said “receiving absentee applications in which the registered PA voter requests their ballot to be mailed out of state, while it is not the norm, it is something that we see for every primary and general election.”

“Examples of the more common circumstances are: students who are attending college out of state, or even out of the country and PA residents who are on an extended visit in another state either visiting or caring for a loved one. We also see PA residents who may be in another state on a lengthy vacation which is long enough for them to receive mail at the address”

It’s easier to win in American politics as an advocate of self-indulgent wokeness than as a proponent of the natural moral law.
The Left has dominated American culture for decades because they appeal to the raw emotion of the lost and lonely, and the substance abusing failures.
Conservatives appeal to common sense which is harder to sell in today’s corrupted democracy.
Our culture is being destroyed from within by the Lunatic Left, and they don’t care who suffers in the process. They are encouraged and supported by America’s haters from within and without.

Companies unlike government have to be profitable to survive.
That said, greatest cost these days is human labor. Spent last 25 or so years laying out and building heavy industrial control systems. The company went from over 1,500 when hired down to 600 (1974 – 2022) mainly due to automation.
.
DEMs in CA for example decided to “HELP” farm workers. What they ended up doing was increase cost of human labor to a point where automation ended up being cheaper than human labor. Result, machines reduced number of humans needed
Romaine Lettuce harvester https://tinyurl.com/2p8z975u
.
Cost of automating a task or process continues to decrease giving businesses ability to reduce costs and as former employer referred to us as their employee ‘liability’.
.
Result of mandating minimum wage increases and red tape forced automation.
.
Best way to have job security and a decent wage is to aquire a skills set that an employer is willing to pay up for.
.
Automation is not going away, as machine vision and computer power increases the number of humans needed will decrease. In next decade would not be surprised only humans in Amazon shipping facility will be a small maintenance staff and software engineers to improve code controlling robots.

JWB November 15, 2022 - 3:03 PM - 3:03 PM

So let me try to understand your argument.
.
Corporations want to maximize profits.
Automation is a way to reduce cost of labor. This might be particularly true for unskilled labor.
.
I don’t think I would disagree with you on these points.
.
But I’m curios why only 24 hours ago you said that layoffs at Amazon were caused by high fuel prices?
.
Don’t you think that corporations want to reduce labor cost if they can independent of the cost of fuel?
.
That also would match your own example of your employer reducing the workforce from 1974 to 2022 by almost two thirds.

Hope this helps reduce, . . . focused tunnel vision.

The administration’s Ministry of Truth almost has the final version of their Pelosi husband attack story. It’s already getting harder to find the early media stories on it as they are “corrected.” In the latest court filings now the “attacker” has clothing and not just in underwear and some other problematic issues removed. Some problems remain however like officers discovered them fighting over a hammer, yet how did they get in the front door to see this? The NBC reporter who first said Pelosi opened the door and walked back to the “attacker” likely is sharing a cement slab with Jimmy Hoffa. This now gets fun because they now say the cops had body cameras on! They are really going for it and this might be our opportunity to see top quality deep fake material used politically.

We are now told when the police arrived they encountered Pelosi and attacker in a struggle. Who opened the door? Several news stories said there was a third person, and they now deny that. Another report from an NBC reporter who has literally disappeared without explanation (reminiscent of Stalinist disappearances) said Pelosi opened the door and then walked back to his attacker. Originally the attacker wore only underwear, a hammer and zip ties. Later, they gave him duct tape and so much other stuff they also decided he needed a backpack which is supposed to be at the back door. I think they had a big problem explaining where a naked guy would be carrying zip ties.

The answer is, Nancy and Gavin and people of their ilk are not in favor of LGBTQ causes. Their stated beliefs are exclusively politically motivated. They have no real beliefs, they are empty vessels devoid of soul.

It’s quite obvious that Trump is not running towards a Presidency but rather away from an indictment. Unfortunately for him it sure looks like the law has finally caught up with him.

I will quote VP Pence on Jan. 17th 2021 he said “I’m proud to report with just a few days left in our Administration, our Administration is the first in decades that did not get America into a new war. That’s Peace through Strength”

I believe that is obviously what Trump meant to say….. or perhaps there was an error on the teleprompter.

Either way, it was obvious what he meant… except maybe to those who are a bit slow or Liberal.

JWB November 16, 2022 - 9:37 AM - 9:37 AM

Thanks Jellyfinger I could not have stated it better ” it was obvious what he meant”. It is a simply fact that sometimes people giving a public speech make some errors. Not everybody is necessarily a gifted pubic speaker. And that may be particularly true if you’re also dealing with an impediment such as stuttering. Furthermore I’m glad that you finally accept that all politicians making major announcements use a teleprompter.
.
But you still have not addressed the hypocrisy of getting all worked up about a slip by Biden but being an adult about Trump?

5
6
Dr. Jellyfinger November 16, 2022 - 10:53 AM - 10:53 AM

The difference being the frequency and severity of the errors and if it is just a matter of having misspoke or actually believing the statements you make like the “54 States” claim or “all the economists” back his plans, writes off inflation as a temporary spike, insists the border surge is just “seasonal,” even calls his disastrous Afghan bug out a “success” (while falsely claiming his generals didn’t object) See article link.

https://tinyurl.com/54wpzkyw

Trump’s misspeak is comparable to Biden’s claim that Beau died in Iraq:

“I say this as a father of a man who won the Bronze Star, the Conspicuous Service Medal, and lost his life in Iraq”

Biden obviously was referring to his son’s exposure to chemical burn pits in Iraq that might have caused the brain cancer that ultimately killed him…. he just didn’t explain it properly.

That’s the difference.

I’m paraphrasing:
“57 states” – Obama
“Community banks are in the community.” – Kamala
“Guam will tip over and capsize” – Rep Hank Johnson (D, GA)
“I did not have sex with that woman.” – Bill Clinton
“All men and women are created equal, by, you know, the thing.” – Biden

There is no shortage of stupidity in DC.

These are just off the top of my head. We could fill pages of inane quotes from Kamala or pointless ramblings from Biden. Trump too. Some are surely lies. There are times when they misspeak. Sometimes they try to sound important and jumble their words. Occasionally, the undiagnosed dementia shines through. The point is, we’ve all said something incorrect, outlandish, or fibbed.

If you really see Trump as feeble minded as Biden, then you have a serious problem. A kindergartner could run circles around Biden in a basic mental acuity test, unless Joe has a teleprompter and an earpiece telling him what to say.

I don’t think it’s simply ignorance & hate.
Blind allegiance to the Democrat Party and all things liberal has plenty to do with it.
How else can any of them support Biden?
Since Biden’s first day in the pilot seat he has put America into a nose dive and there are mountains of trouble ahead……… but the window of opportunity is closing.
Russia & China may be thinking they will have to complete their objectives before America votes in 2024 to replace the bumbling Biden / Harris cluster (bleep) Administration.

Wow HAPPYPAPPY all these achievements. Just impressive, but unfortunately its only in your fantasy. People living in reality saw how Trump ran the US economy in a ditch. We have all seen the record job losses the high unemployment numbers or the shrinking GDP.
.
BTW even your fantasies make no sense. For example you really think under Trump the US Dollar was stronger than now? Think again as a matter of fact the US is now the strongest it has been in the last 20 years and it’s not necessarily a good thing.
.
https://tinyurl.com/4hbtyjh3
.
Also you think that “no inflation” would be a good thing. Think again the Feds actually strive to keep the inflation at about 2% annually.

So even your fantasies only show your ignorance.

JWB: I’m not sure if I’m the “ilk” you mention but I will reply. Thank you for that National Review piece, and I do mean that. It is an outstanding example of stupidity and an example of our state of journalism. Please re-read it carefully. One of the first paragraphs talks about how the country was so much better off in policy terms over the border, economics, international relations and war. But then all of that is quickly dismissed and the author turns it into a long diatribe against Trump personally, calling him shameful, grotesque, combative and so on. Really read this stuff. The author admits all the things that should matter about the country was better, but in this author’s view we can’t have someone as president he does not like personally. That’s all there is to it. This stupid National Review writer and others like him seek a father figure or spiritual advisor, when what we need is a CEO. Others have pointed out that many of the complete idiot voters have a BBQ test, that is, they will vote for the candidate they would prefer at their own backyard BBQ. This author wants the president chosen by how much fun he would be standing around in the backyard and with a beer and swapping jokes and stories.

JWB November 16, 2022 - 12:43 PM - 12:43 PM

TDL first of course true conservatives like the editorial board of the NR applaud tax reform and deregulation. But they certainly do not go as far as saying the country was “better off economically” let alone “much better off”. And you should really rest assured that the NR editorial board is not thinking about who they would enjoy at their own backyard BBQ. As a matter of fact they might even enjoy having Trump at the BBQ, who knows.
.
So why do you think the NR editorial board is not supporting Trump? It’s because they know that Trump is not a principled conservative at all. He is a populist and really only in the game to feed his own ego. He doesn’t care about the Republican Party or conservatism. They realize that Trump is well on his way to destroy conservatism. They have seen that Trump hurt their cause in the 2018 midterms, in 2020 as well as the 2022 midterms. He is actually the Democrats best hope for success.
.
I do believe the country need two strong parties to balance each other. And the sooner the Republicans can get rid of Trump the better off the country will be.

JWB: I was just looking at this as a stand-alone essay which follows a very common theme of admitting things were better with Trump but they don’t like him personally. As far as the also common theme of Democrats saying get rid of Trump and all will be well, I’m not buying that either. There is a multi-billion dollar Leftist media machine devoted to character assassination of their opponents and after a short honeymoon, that machine will launch itself into character assassination of whoever is next. Thats what they do. Trump was correct that the media is the enemy of the people, just look at the Pelosi attack and how they are trying but failing to lie to the public about it. The original NBC reporter is Stalinistically missing, but now another has stepped forward to call this current version BS and that Pelosi did answer the door and acted like that was his friend. The Democrats act like the book 1984 is an instruction manual.

JWB: Thank you for asking! No, I do not get tired of it and in fact it is the opposite. There are hundreds of millions of Chinese and several tens of millions of Russians who have exactly the opposite opinion you have on issues like Ukraine because of who controls the media. They are just as convinced as you are that they are right. I think it is fascinating how media can control those too lazy to question the sources. If it were up to Pelosi’s media supporters, her story would be one of victimization in the face of crazy election deniers, but instead seems to be looking more like a gay encounter gone bad.

These are achievements that even his conservative doubters and critics — including NR — can acknowledge and applaud”

Today California lawmakers announced we are expected to have a $25 billion dollar budget deficit next year. Recall one of the main talking points just a few weeks ago for Newsom’s election was how we had a huge surplus. I’m sure Newsom got regular updates from the budget office, so even while he gave speeches about “his” surplus, he knew after the election the opposite would be announced. But he won, and that is what matters to him and his supporters. I wonder if the office was even told to delay disclosing the budget forecasts. This is just so sleazy.

4
4
The Professor November 17, 2022 - 11:20 AM - 11:20 AM

I saw the same story. That $25 Billion number is probably too low. If there is a recession (HA! IF!) then the projection is more like $30 billion-$50 Billion, FOR NEXT YEAR ALONE!

Throw in the CA tax base pulling up stakes and moving to FL and TX, and you have a real disaster brewing. But by then Gavin will be running for President and it’ll be the next Dem’ Gov’s problem to pin blame for the shortfall on DeSantis.

It appears U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has risen to the title of “Capo” in the Biden administration crime family.
Since the midterm results his primary duty now is to create diversions to protect Joe, Hunter, and Jim Biden. This is likely in response to Biden’s pep rally where he begged for party votes by saying, “If republicans win they’ll impeach me”. He’s weak and Garland has been tasked with protection. It sounds like an episode of “The Untouchables”.
