Thank you very much for the pictures. Whenever I see something like this I just assume it is a red tailed hawk so I will have to start looking more closely. I like his attitude just staring back.

My goodness! What a beautiful animal. And , lucky for Rebel to get photos of it. That’s one I haven’t seen before. I’ve taken up bird watching with the cat in the morning. It’s something we can do together which helps with bonding. He has some attachment issues! I’ve seen Red-Tailed Hawks and Kites, but not one quite like this. Thanks for the treat!

My husband saw it in our backyard, as well. He ran into the house to grab his phone, but by the time he returned, it was gone.
Initially, my husband was standing at the window looking out, having just filled the bird feeders. He noticed a shadow, looked up, and saw the hawk swoop down, then fly upward, and perch on a wire. God’s creation is awesome.
