Suspected Burglars Arrested After Chase In Antioch

The following is from the Antioch Police Department:

On February 1, 2023, at 3:08 pm, the Antioch Police Department’s Dispatch Center received a call from a resident on Durness Court reporting a burglary in-progress of an occupied residence. Information received reported the occupant was possibly an elderly female.

Officers immediately responded to the scene and were assisted by the CONTRA COSTA SHERIFF Air Unit, which was overhead within minutes. The Air Unit advised the back door was shattered and there was a vehicle backed into the driveway. When officers arrived on scene, the suspects, Donley Thompson and Delancey Huff, fled in the vehicle that was in the driveway, striking a police vehicle. No officers were injured because of the police vehicle being struck.

Officers pursued the vehicle with the assistance of the Air Unit. Ultimately, the suspect vehicle got onto State Route 4 and collided with a guardrail near the Hillcrest Drive off-ramp. Huff and Thompson ran across westbound traffic on State Route 4, over the BART tracks in the middle of State Route 4, and through the eastbound lanes of traffic. Huff and Thompson were attempting to carjack people that were stopped on the eastbound State Route 4 off-ramp at Hillcrest Drive.

Officers chased Huff and Thompson on foot and ultimately took them into custody on the off-ramp. Officers located the victim’s stolen property in the vehicle that was abandoned by the suspects and her property was later returned to her. She was not in the residence at the time of the burglary.

Huff and Thompson were arrested for felony burglary, conspiracy, and reckless evading of a police officer. Huff was on parole for residential burglary and was released from custody on December 22, 2022.

We would like to thank the alert resident who saw something suspicious and contacted our Dispatch Center about it. We would also like to thank the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office Air Unit for assisting our officers in the capture of these suspects.

Great work by all departments involved. We thank you. Now hope our judicial system will keep these repeat offenders off the streets.

.
No attempted carjacking charge? Surely that would add a few years at sentencing.
.
And no assault of a law enforcement officer?

Soros funded Judge no doubt. And to think the D.A. won on “Criminal Justice” reform.

So arrested two months for burglaries, now doing the same again, caught yesterday and I bet you they’re out today! Are we stupid? How long are we going to put up with this?

Diversity is our strength. This is why police helicopters should be equipped with GE mini guns.

Too bad a BART train or car didn’t take these two worthless idiots out.

I wouldn’t feel one bit of remorse if I found out the person I hit on the freeway was running from the cops after robbing a house.

Cops see them drive out of driveway of the burglarized home… lights and siren sblaring & they continue to flee, abandon car, run across busy freeway and electrified BART tracks & then across freeway again…. cops capture & arrest them…. and they are only suspects? LoL!

C’mon DJ. You know that you are a suspect all the way until you are convicted or plea guilty or no lo. At that point, you can legally drop the whole “suspect” thing. If you use words like “perpetrator” instead of “suspect” prior to the plea or conviction, then you open yourself up to all kinds of liability from the multitude of shysters out there who are just dying to sue you for “slander” and “defamation”.

You know they did it. The cops who were chasing them know they did it. We all know they did it. Still, at this point in time they are just “suspects”. Their Momma must be proud.

Consider Alec Baldwin. He is only a suspect in the double shooting and one death on his movie set. At this point, he only “allegedly” shot two people.

As a genetic biologist (I play one on tv) I can say with certainty these guys are both product of inbred parents. Look at their distorted facial features. Like sloth from the goonies

The Judge is limited by what charges DA refers to The Court.
