As part of the community’s continued partnership to keep Pittsburg’s schools safe, the Pittsburg Police Department recently provided the school district ALICE training for Pittsburg High School staff.

ALICE stands for ALERT, LOCKDOWN, INFORM, COUNTER, EVACUATE.

Staff learned several tactics to effectively respond to an Active Shooter situation in order to minimize loss of life.

At this rate, this should be back to school night training for every school in the United States.

Now they need to arm them.

By locking down, you trap kids in a classroom without escape, possibly maximizing the number of victims. My kid in high school said the best situation would be to run like crazy so that everyone is evacuated quickly and there are no targets left. Beware of people pretending to be experts. On 9/11 the security staff at the World Trade Center got on the loudspeakers and told those trying to get out of the building that they need to go back to their offices since the firefighters were having trouble with the crowded stairs. Those who listened to the experts all died. If an emergency happens, do what you think is best. Even in the last weeks, the “experts” are now considering changing their recommendation for office workers from “try first to run, then hide, then attack if nothing else works” to simply attack first. All these experts, and just because of one event in Monterey they are changing their expert opinions. What buffoons. Anyone telling you they are an expert on this is lying like hell and their arrogance and cluelessness might get you killed.

Exit 12A, please explain yourself? Would you say the same thing if training happened at Northgate High?

But do they get firearms and training in returning suppressing fire?

When I was trapped in a corporate job and endless training of every sort, we had active shooter training courtesy of the US Govt. they recommended using a fire extinguisher as a weapon. A long blast in the face of an attacker can be pretty effective, no match for a firearm, but a blinded attacker is easier to beat to a bloody pulp with the empty fire extinguisher…. carry one in your car.

Far better would be issuing conceal carry permits to teachers with previous military service and have them qualify regularly.

Gun free zones are nothing more than free fire zones for rabid mental defectives so liberal politicians can achieve a tender age body count for their gun “control”.

This makes me question my training. “When in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout!”
