The following is from the Concord Police K9 Association:

On February 1, 2023, officers of the Special Enforcement Team contacted an occupied suspicious vehicle.

During the investigation, K9 Nikki responded to the scene to assist.

K9 Nikki alerted to the vehicle, and officers located approximately 26.9 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and packaging materials.

The subject was ultimately arrested for possession of narcotics for sales.

A creative defense attorney would claim that the meth was for personal use. The arrestee’s scale and baggies were to apportion the meth for metering the use of the meth over the next 52 weeks.
