Another atmospheric river is expected to hit the region from Monday evening until Tuesday afternoon, according to a forecast from the National Weather Service.

Forecasters predict that heavy rains and strong gusty winds will develop on Monday and continue through the next day.

Flooding and landslides are likely, the weather service said.

A flood watch and high winds warning is in effect for the entire Bay Area for late Monday through Wednesday morning.

The area at most extreme risk continues to be Monterey County as it endures river flooding.

As for the rest of the week, Thursday will likely have drier conditions, though flooding will likely continue, and weaker rain showers will start on Friday and continue through the weekend, said the weather system.

Déjà vu. Didn’t they say the same thing last week? It was supposed to rain all through the weekend.

Bring on the warm rain. Sure beats the hell out of the cold and dank precipitation we got in January and February.

Seems like people who predict the weather and providing financial advice from silly-con valley bank can be grouped in the same category.

@ T__T ~ That may be so, but don’t include our native American Injuns in that crowd… they really know whats up with weather. For instance, I believe this next weather system will be a fizzle based on the last shopping trip I tagged along with Nana and all the tribe ladies were buying beach blankets, sunglasses and getting bikini waxes at the beauty parlor. Really, all of ’em (just look in the dumpster behind the parlor it looks like somebody skinned a bear in there).
