The city of Oakley is holding a community meeting Wednesday evening to gather input on plans for a 55-acre park.

The park, which would be located at the north end of Sellers Avenue, north of Delta Road, could feature fishing, kayaking and sports activity options as part of the plans, according to city officials.

.
Oakley residents should emphatically stress the prohibition of all homeless camping or any other form of emergency dwelling/housing in ANY part of the future park.

They should make space for advocates to feed feral human so I can find a place to park my RV and live there basically for free.

Concepts:

Include a wide range of facilities that can be used by the entire community.

Active recreation facilities like basketball courts, volleyball pits, all-abilities playground, skate/skateboard park, dirtbike courses, small and large group picnic areas, multi-use greens, jogging, bike, and walking paths…. I wanna be able to fly a kite.

Passive recreation… Green space (no active sports areas), walking paths, shaded open spaces with tree groves. Designated and fenced large and small dog parks.
.
Multiple safe, clean, and surveilled restroom facilities. Benches, bike racks, water fountains.
.
Tree groves, community gardens/plots.

Just so long as they allow day use only, no overnight camping, maybe the access road should have a gate that can be locked after sundown.
That area will need more parks with so many new neighborhoods being built.

New neighborhoods are under construction along East Cypress Rd. and Bethel Island Rd. and a new shopping center is planned. The Delta Coves on Bethel Island are still building too.

And there are plans to develop Frank’s Tract into a prime recreation area.
Islands and beaches and dredging to make the water deeper will improve boating, water skiing, fishing, etc.
