Antioch police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with the shooting death of a 31-year-old man Monday night in a convenience store parking lot.

Officers responded to a 7:41 p.m. report of a single-car collision in a parking lot at 2700 Hillcrest Ave. Witnesses reported seeing two people running from the vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers found a man with at least one gunshot wound sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Paramedics responded and provided treatment but the man died at the scene.

In a news release early Tuesday, police said evidence at the scene indicates the shooting appears to have taken place inside the vehicle. The suspects remain at large.

After all it is woke antioch.
A city of only 115,000 with so many shootings they’ve installed shot spotter sensors to pinpoint gunfire.

I grew up in Antioch and all I know is after section 8 opened up everything in Antioch went down hill. It’s sad I don’t even wanna say from there anymore.

Every town opened up to section 8 goes bad. The one that really took a dump was Palmdale in the desert. Cute little desert town wrecked.

Palmdale was a beautiful oasis. Now it’s just a complete garbage dump. The literally move homeless from the beach to Palmdale, give them money and housing and to hell with the people who live there. Shame

Palmdale, Victorville, etc. imploded after the military scaled back operations in the high desert following the Cold War. Disciplined low income servicemen’s families left and the dregs of greater LA filled the vacuum.

Similar story to Concord (NWS closure) and Vallejo (Mare Island closure), Fairfield (Travis scaled back), except the high desert is more isolated from LA’s economic orbit than Concord/Vallejo/Fairfield are from the core Bay Area.

What do you expect. It’s antioch. It’s taken over by scummy trashy ghetto people and there’s no consequences for their actions. stop giving people the benefit of doubt. People are dying … this has gotten out of hand and itll take a lot of structure to get better but of course that won’t happen any time soon. Too many criminals and ghetto people playing victim. They know exactly what they’re doing…..

Fire the mayor and maybe then, they can cleanse that city.

@Andrea – Do you mean the way Serbia “cleansed” itself in the 1990s?

Lamorinda Larry May 3, 2023 - 8:22 AM - 8:22 AM

Antioch is becoming the new Northgate!
