Multiple callers reporting as many as six shots and the sound of the vehicle speeding away in the area of Claudia Dr. and N.6th St.
Concord Police are in the area.
UPDATE 3:14 p.m.: So far, police have found no evidence of a shooting.

Antioch is back in town
I saw police in the area but I didn’t hear anything that sounded like shots.
I didn’t hear the big boom last night that everyone was talking about either.
Lot’s of bad hombre’s in town these days.

It was not gun fire. It was a black honda style street racer that purposely mad his car backfire while sitting 3 cars from the light on Port Chicago and N6th where the cement wall is for the bart tracks that reflected the sound. Don’s market confirmed this and I saw this. The cars with illegal exhaust is the problem and the high speeds down our neighborhood roads. Never see any enforcement stopping these dangerous people and obnoxious cars with excessively loud exhaust.
An illegal exhaust is not what causes the popping nor is it the cause of high speeds down our roads as said above. It’s the tune on the car that they change to make it purposely do that.
Now granted very high horsepower high performance vehicles will pop like that because the tune has to be changed for all that power and most of the times the exhaust will pop like that.
I know guys that race Teslas, they make absolutely no noise at all, have no exhaust to speak of so what causes the problem with those street racers speeding down our streets?

As juryisout has stated that racing down our streets is not a problem and he knows of Tesla’s that race and make no noise has nothing to do with what happened yesterday and makes no sense. The point was that the popping was a gas powered small car that was fitted with a bunch of illegal racing parts that created the problem and the high speeds the the car did after creating the disturbance is not new. The fact that it happens all day and all night everyday is the problem and now it has caused a serious situation that startled people and caused our police department to respond in a serious manner by blocking off streets and walking up and down our neighborhood streets armed with real guns that could have caused serious injuries to the public as well as taking them away from their jobs of protecting us. This is a serious issue and for the immature actions of these axxxholes is not to be tolerated. These individuals that put our neighborhoods in danger need to be stopped.
First I was there. Second you can set the car tune on the fly with programmable controllers that would make the car back fire by detuning the timing as well as being able to make your exhaust obnoxious with a “Y” pipe that is controlled with an electric actuator to direct exhaust to a straight pipe to make your car much louder then it can be switched back to the muffler so police have a hard time enforcing the disturbancing of the peace. Third Don’s market has already confirmed that it was a back firing racerx that was trying to be obnoxious and create a problem that took our valuble police away from doing there job of protecting the public and wasting tax payers money for there little kid games. It also scared a lot of people thinking it was gun fire and could have gotten someone seriously hurt. Last it happened on Port Chicago Hwy. Not Claudia drive. So please stop posting misinformation. Thank you

A modified zippy car backfired… left the area, and now peace & tranquility have been restored…. until the next immature driver with a “need for noise” decides to impress us all with with his loud exhaust or obnoxious noisy car stereo blasting, booming, crappy music with vulgar lyrics.
I would also like to mention that I have observed people that have been harssing the house on the corner of Claudia drive and N 6th. They peal out and race by there house. I observed some one pulled over and popped in front of there house and I’ve seen people key their cars. SMASH their car window out and steal their property.They are good neighbors and I dont understand why these people continue to disrupt harass and cause them undo harm almost daily.
I call the drivers of these loud cars, the look at me crowd. These drivers need attention so bad, that they don’t realize their attention seeking noisy cars, make most of us laugh. Come on attention seekers grow up. Go find a race track and stop embarrassing yourself’s. No one is impressed.
