Dutch Bros. coffee shop, under construction since June of 2022.
The Dutch Bros. coffee shop on Clayton Rd. in Concord (next to Taco Bell) is coming up on its one-year under construction anniversary.
Construction started in early June of 2022, and it’s still not complete. It’s only an 850-square-foot building.
To compare, Nation’s on Clayton Rd. was completely gutted in February of this year, and they plan to be done with construction by mid-June.
A little further down, McDonald’s was completely demolished and a new McDonald’s was constructed in just 65 days in 2012.

Commercial builders vary widely… it is HIGHLY dependent on the quality and clarity of the development plans, the construction manager, and the subcontractors.

Let’s not forget coordination with the utility companies sewer, water, and … PGE is a nightmare in terms of coordination.

This article is not accurate, they barely broke ground 6 months ago. Do you really think it is the business fault that you need to jump through burning hoops plus give up your first born to iron out all the contractual red tape in order to do business in Concord? My company has the contract & dealing with the city of Concord has been an absolute nightmare, they are a complete joke.
They broke ground in June of 2022.

When was the site development permit issued? What about the building permit? Those ultimately determine how much time has elapsed since actual start of construction.

“Breaking ground” could have been purely ceremonial.

When permits are issued, then that’s the green light and the clock starts ticking.
Eating at taco bell a few times I watched in amazement how stupid the construction workers were. They are amateurs and this must be their first attempt at construction.
The article correct, it is going on a year now since they started construction.
No they didn’t, it was & has been held up by the city of Concord
Try to find anyone to do anything. It is taking two months to get a retaining wall built.

I still say the Dutch Bros drive thru is WAY too small. I don’t know what they were thinking.

Dutch Bros. no longer makes coffee. If you ask for drip coffee, they will look at you funny. I’ve been to the other Dutch Bros. in Ca and 100% of the time they are selling $6 blended smoothies. And they rarely deal in cash, it’s usually Apple pay. Also, THEY SHAKE YOU DOWN FOR TIP! They stare you in the eye like a used car salesman and pressure you to give them tip.
