California State colleges were originally supposed to be free of charge to state residents.

Unfortunately, the House vote on the “Biden Student Loan Forgiveness Program” is largely symbolic and meaningless. The House Resolution either won’t be taken up in the Senate, won’t pass the Senate, or if by some chance it did pass the Senate, it would then be vetoed by President Biden, and both houses of Congress lack the necessary votes to override a presidential veto. We’ll have to wait for the Supreme Court to rule on the issue.

When I heard Joe Biden make those comments about Obama it reminded me of that SNL skit. I can imagine Joe, in his prime, saying something similar.

While the City of Concord did adopt the policies of a “Sanctuary City,” they chose not to adopt the term “Sanctuary City.”

A tentative agreement has been announced on the debt limit. It affirms the huge permanent federal 50% spending increase above 2019 pre-Covid budgets and never ending $1.5 trillion dollar deficits into the future. Somehow we seemed to have enough government in 2019, but according to Democrats such a budget now would lead to massive starvation, elimination of medical care for many and eliminate jobs for first responders putting us all in danger. Biden and McCarthy both declared victory, Biden for winning and McCarthy because he would look like a door mat if he didn’t.

Target did not make a mistake. A mistake is an error in judgement leading to unintended results. Target knew from Bud Light what would happen with pushback from customers, modest retreat, then outrage from the LGBTQ community. The CEO has a long history of LGBTQ support and for whatever calculations he did about not having to care since he is wealthy, his actions were intentional. Not a mistake.

Congress will pass some kind of version of this spending bill which shows $1.5 to $2.5 plus trillion dollar deficits forever, which really isn’t forever since at that rate the US will default, whether it ten or more years it is just a matter of time.
