The unfreezing of assets for the release of 5 Americans is still extortion, if not worse. This is OJ going to the hotel to retrieve “his property” and we all know how that ended.

Kushner has negotiated trade deals in the middle east and North America. He has an actual investment firm with money from many parts of the world. He also pays his taxes and the deals are all above board and money is not invested in secret account after account. Kushner may have more experience negotiating deals than Hunter. It is not illegal for Hunter to engage with private businesses. Do you have a clue as to how the electoral college works? Electors can’t vote for both a presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate if they’re from the same state, unless the electors split their votes. So, because you’ve decided to support a Weiner-Newsom ticket, should they win the general election, you’ve just insured that only one of those candidates would be elected or neither would be elected by the electoral college. In the case this would then becomes a contingent election and is thrown to Congress to decide the election where Republicans control a majority of the state delegations in the House and would presumably elect the Republican candidate for president and the Senate would elect the vice president, presumably a Republican, as Republicans are expexted to gain 2+ seats in the 2024 election, and the contingent election would be held by the incoming Senate that will be seated on January 03, 2025. It’s also extremely odd that you’d choose a state senator as a presidential candidate and a governor as a vice presidential candidate.

Let’s get some facts on the table:
U.S. attorney David Weiss, a Republican holdover from the previous administration and now assigned as special counsel to oversee the Hunter Biden investigation, was appointed by Mr. Trump in 2017 and confirmed by a Republican controlled Senate.
Everyone has a price, ‘eh James. For some being safe from false accusations and harassment of themselves and their families is all it takes.
He was recommended. Trump knew nothing about him.. We are dealing with the swamp here. The deal he made for Hunter is not excusable. No honest person would have made a blanket amnesty for a drug addicted crook.
That would be prejudicial. The charges had to do with tax fraud, not narcotics. That is it’s own charge and should not influence how the court proceeds in regards to the tax issue.
I just said he was a drug addict. It goes to his character not the law.
And Mr. Weiss acted as a defense attorney in the creation of Hunter Biden’s plea deal. Yes, he was titled as a prosecutor, however he was clearly working on Hunter’s behalf and attempting to slip one past the judge.
Garland appointed him special counsel so he may continue to work on Hunters behalf. Let’s face it, Weiss makes Mr. Rogers look like Jack Smith. He’ll protect and coddle poor little Hunter.
The goal is two fold: Avoid disseminating information under the guise of “an on going investigation”, and also to run out the clock.

Not all registered Democrats and registered Republicans take action and/or think the same way on everything, just because it has been reported in the news that Special Counsel David Weiss is a Republican is meaningless. This idea that just because someone was nominated, appointed, or confirmed by a President and/or Senate of a certain party that that person will only act in the furtherance of that party’s beliefs or that Presidents wishes and agenda is just a false narrative.

Are you familiar with how US Attorney’s are chosen? Senate tradition allows a states two US Senators to select and/or sign off on who the US Attorney nominees for their state will be, and the President then nominates those individuals, remeber, advice and consent. In the case of David Weiss, it was Senator Chris Coons and Senator Tom Carper of Delaware, both Democrats.

The problem with US Attorney David Weiss being named as Special Counsel by Attorney General Merrick Garland is that a person chosen as a Special Counsel is legally required and “shall” come from outside of government employment, and not from within government employment. Weiss’ naming as Special Counsel is a violation of the law. The other problem is that the Special Councel law doesn’t all for the matter to be fought in court, so Merrick Garland and David Weiss are knowingly and flagrantly violating the law as Weiss is charged with prosecuting violations of the law.

If your point was to show that Senate Republicans asked for Weiss to be named Special Counsel, fine. I’m unfamiliar with John Salomon, but I will respond guessing you meant John Solomon. I’m familiar with his “Just the News” website, but I didn’t get any right wing talking points from him. I actually find his website annoying and irritating with the way it’s designed and set up. All of the media bias ratings that I’ve seen for his website have listed his website reporting as being in the “center,” no left leaning bias and no right leaning bias. The information that I read was from television interviews of two lawyers on the subject of David Weiss being named Special Counsel. One I don’t remember at this time, but the other was Jonathan Turley, hardly righr-wing, he’s definitely left leaning. I heard Jonathan Turley on the radio today and he said that Attorney General Merrick Garland has turned the Special Counsel statute on its head by not appointing someone Special Counsel from outside of the Department of Justice and briefly explained why appointing David Weiss was different from Attorney General Bill Barr appointing John Durham. This is coming from a liberal Democrat constitutional attorney. There was also a conservative Republican attorney on that insisted David Weiss wasn’t a Special Counsel. I think the DOJ needs to change its regulations so that a person from outside the DOJ is called a Special Councel and someone from inside the government is called a Special US Attorney or something else that distinguishes the position with a different name.

China makes weapons ‘breakthrough’ (Maui?)
Beijing’s military scientists have claimed success in enabling high-energy lasers to operate “indefinitely” without overheating
Chinese military scientists have reported a research breakthrough that could make it possible for Beijing to develop high-energy laser weapons that can shoot for as long as their operators desire, without interruption and without any degradation in performance.
Scientists at the National University of Defense Technology in Changsha, China, published the results of their research earlier this month in Acta Optica Sinica, a peer-reviewed Chinese journal. They claim to have developed a new cooling system that makes it possible to operate high-energy lasers “indefinitely,” without any effects from overheating.
“This is a huge breakthrough in improving the performance of high-energy laser systems,”the team said in its research paper. “High-quality beams can be produced not only in the first second, but also maintained indefinitely.”
The cooling system controls gas flows to remove heat from inside a laser weapon, preventing vibration and disruptions in performance. It can enable longer operation, increased range and greater firepower, the scientists said. They noted that 60 years on from the invention of the first ruby laser, weapons developers haven’t been able to create “death rays that can instantly kill targets.”
Some of the most high-profile US laser weapons projects have been canceled, despite shooting down targets in testing. “The true reason for the cancellation of these projects was that their destructive power did not meet expectations,” the Chinese scientists said. Longer, continuous operation times are needed to extend the range of laser weapons beyond a few kilometers, they said.
Such weapons generate high-energy beams that heat up the gas in their path as they pass through the air, creating turbulence. This effect can distort the beam, diminishing its accuracy and strength. The heated gases can also contaminate the mirrors in a laser weapon, reducing performance and potentially damaging a system.
The Chinese researchers said they developed a system that blows gas through the weapon to remove waste heat and keep the mirrors clear. Their technology is already being used in a number of laser weapons that the Chinese military has under development.
Beijing reportedly intends to use such weapons against drones, missiles and aircraft. They also could be used to target satellites, disrupting enemy communications, navigation and surveillance capabilities.

Change in venue questions will never reach the Supreme Court. There is plenty of settled law on this question. He might be successful to remove the GA case to Federal Court. But since it would still be Offenses against the State of Georgia he could not issue a pardon, neither for himself nor for his co-conspirators. The Constitution is explicit on this. Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 provides: “The President … shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨, except in Cases of impeachment.”
