Yes, boring but very necessary.
I add a drop or two of lemon to give it a little flavor.
I’m trying to get in the habit of drinking more of it.
Is there a good bottled water brand ?
Morning: Folger’s – plain black coffee. Farmers Bros. is good too.
Afternoon: A&W Root Beer.
Evening: Shiner Bock Beer – Jim Beam Bourbon, neat. When the winers come to dinner it’s Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel.

Strawberry Lemonade on Ice, Aquifina cold and Peet’s Lemonade. More than one. Those are the best to me. A good cold swig of beer in a glass bottle is my favorite of alcohol. Just pass it by in the market. Haven’t drank alcohol in over a year or more.

Chai latte in the morning, and either hot/cold tea (any kind, camelia sinensis or not, except peppermint or chamomile) or unsweetened (whether flavored or not) sparkling water the rest of the day. I have plenty of the first two and a sodastream for the third, whether at home or at work.
I just LOVE Soda Stream. The ability to mix how you like is such a great way to drink more water. It’s even better for alcoholic drinks, as I like to be creative with SS and vodka. The newer system with glass carafes are wonderful – no plastic taste.

Sugar free Smirnoff Seltzers over ice , very refreshing !
In high school, we used to drink Two Fingers tequila … “Two Fingers is all it Takes” was their tagline … but it disappeared in the late 1980s … nice surprize to find it on the shelf in Saigon … been doing plenty of home brews here … made a strawberry wine after scoring a gunny sack of fresh-picked strawberries in Da Lat for $6 usd … 12kg haul … turned out very well … also made my own version of Jagermister … was great … steeped Johnny Walker Black with dried chili & super strong tobbacco from Sapa region … that was amazing … the spice gives a nice burn as it goes down and then you get a nice niccotine kick in the head … this year doing multi-fruit steeps with rice whiskey from Japan, Korea, and local hooch … it’s fun to come up with yer own unique recipes … I bottle it and give out as gifts during New Year celebrations … strong drinking culture here … people know how to party hearty in Southeast Asia
More plain ice water than anything, also sparking water over ice. Alcoholic, mostly wine, the type of which depends on what I’m pairing it with. Favorites are chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, prosecco and Tuscan Chianti. When we’re in Italy, Tuscan Chianti and limoncello spritz. The best place to drink a Tuscan Chianti is in Chianti, where we were in June. The Napa Valley is beautiful; Tuscany is spectacular.

Non alcoholic, V8, Diet Sprite, Water, not in any particular order, orange Fanta, but rarely drink it too much sugar, if there is a diet one I don’t care for it. Recently discovered sparkling lemonade without sugar, can get it at Safeway or Raley’s, sparkling Ice classic lemonade is says the label. Oh, and can’t start my day without a very strong cup of black british tea with a little sugar added. Don’t drink coffee in the morning, but sometimes midday, usually a latte, or ice coffee when it’s hot.
Alcoholic, these days mostly Chardonnay, or Sauvignon Blanc, occasinally a bloody mary, I like to mix my own, I don’t like it too peppery, but like it with horseradish. Use to drink Vodka tonics, black russians, screw drivers and margarita, still like a margarita at times, unlike vodka drinks, never mix it at home. Like it with crushed ice and salt on the rim. The Cadillac Bar and Grill and San Francisco (south of Market) served a mean margarita.
Water. I don’t drink anything else really. It’s all my body needs.

Black coffee in the morning, water the rest of the day. Infrequently, a couple evenings a in a week, I will do damage to a bottle of wine (a cab or a ruby port). That is it.
I do not get heartburn, but since I have any alcohol so infrequently, it gets me buzzed right quick, and since I am not a sipper, a glass gets downed much like water (good thing I drink infrequently). But I do enjoy that particular wine.
Isn’t Madeira different from Port, at least in Europe it is. Years ago when I was going out on the town in San Francisco I met some guys at Perry’s Union Street, met some guys that were on town for a liquer convention, they bought me the a very good port (expense account I assume). Nice guys we just chatted for a few hours and then went our separate ways. I also like the Danish Cherry Heering, but has to be the real one, not imitations, it is hard to find here. When I lived in Foster City the only place I could find it was a liquer and wine store in Menlo Park, they closed a few years ago. I forgot their name, but they were well known.
My husband introduced me to Gammeldansk a few years ago; I do not care for liquorice, and Danes seem to like it strong and salty. I treating palates, and to each his own. You might try Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa for the Hearing, as they have a nice liquor selection.
I don’t care for Gammel Dansk at all. I do like liquorice the candy, Cost Plus have several from Holland and Germany that are the same as the Danish ones I grew up with. Yes I like it salty, only indulge around Halloween and Christmas for the most part. As for the Heering I can probably get it on line. However, I think it has gotten quite expensive, it was never cheap. Also I don’t have a lot of people over for Christmas as I use to (anywhere from 6 to 10 Christmas eve) so I don’t buy it anymore.

Press black coffee, very intense for mornings. And sometimes a small cup or two later in the day or night (doesn’t mess with my sleep). Over the years starting in 1990 owned home espresso machines but most would not last very long so went to an AeroPress, much less hassle, less cleanup and works.

Since I’m a Certified Sommelier, I’m a bit picky about the wine I drink: it absolutely MUST have alcohol in it!
Prefer Pinot Noirs over all other wines, but like to sip on Rosés, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. I love Italian wines, especially with food, so any Barbaresco or Barolo will do and French Burgundies is also a favorite. Cheers!
Coke original, preferably Mexican Coke.
