Thinking of my father today who joined the Navy in WW2 at the age of 17 and served on a destroyer and later joined the Army. Gratitude and respect to all veterans who served our country.

Thank you, father, for devoting your life to military service retiring in 1978 from the Army.
(d. 1987). Running away from home to join the War effort, you were denied because you were underage. Your precision and discipline always created a safe and happy home for us — my mother, my sister, and me.. Thank you for your service to our country. I salute you on this Veteran s Day! 🥕🌝

Thraxx, Thank you, this Veteran’s Day, for your service. I have a feeling for the commitment and sacrifice it takes.

The History channel had a TV special on today on the Vietnam war. My three years in the Army were up as that war started and I had other plans. My younger brother wasn’t so lucky so he put his thirteen months into that mess. Luckily he got out with just some bad memories. You have to wonder why leaders are not good enough or smart enough to keep the world out of wars. Fifty five thousand troops died in that war that no one won. That was just on our side. Now you can visit VietNam as a tourist These guys that start them are never the ones to fight them. Maybe one day we will have a better class of leaders. I happen to believe things are negotiable without giving up our rights or way of life. You still have to have respect for the hundreds of thousands who had to endure man’s inhumanity to man.
