Daylight Savings Time: When people change their clocks and cats wonder why we’re messing with their meal schedule.
My dog takes seizure meds. Having to spend the last week adjusting the time she takes them sucks.

Almost forgot it’s Friday. Book report: Gremlins Go Home, Ben Bova & Gordon R. Dickson, 1983. A kids story about aliens who want to go home and talk a couple of kids and a dog into helping them. Humans call them gremlins but they ran away from home a few thousand years ago. They want to tie a magic kite to a space ship heading for Mars but are highly allergic to iron and steel. Short book with some really cute drawing every few pages. Even grownups might get some chuckles from this one.

I was watching the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix and heard this from the announcer as Carlos Sainz (Ferrari driver) made a nice clean pass:

Here’s a quick way to save a few bucks, and it works for most people. Call your cable company and say you want to pay less. Throw in that you’re shopping around for other providers if you feel gutsy. I just called Astound and am now saving $83.03 per month for 6 months, and saving $37.00 per month thereafter. They basically treat you like you’re starting over and give you all the incentives for a new customer. I was astounded!! (Get it? Astound?) Seriously, it’s worth the 20-30 minutes on the phone. Yes, once my 2 year plan is up, i always call them and they give me the same lower rate for 2 more years. We been with Wave for 9 years.
I’ve been doing that for years with AT&T, I only pay ten bucks a month for internet. Here’s another hint, if the customer service person can’t or won’t help you, ask to speak with their supervisor.
My girl friend in New York is doing something similar. However, it seems every once in awhile, she has to switch to a different company, thus changing her phone number, she still has a landline, so a bit annoying for her friends. She also switches accounts by putting it in her name, and then when it is time to switch again put it in her husbands name. However, I know a couple of times she had to go to a different company to get a good rate.

Yes, … We have been with Astound for 20+ years.
Once a year when the price goes up, we go in and ask for a ‘new’ rate adjustment.
This year was really good, … we are paying $10 less per month from last year’s rate(s).
FYI, …if you do a walk vs. phone call, and present your statement bill, we have notice even better savings.

Alameda has done it. Sacramento has done it. Fresno is currently trying to do it.
Contra Costa County needs to have an alternative.

Serious question: What local Hispanic restaurant serves the best Pozole?
Pozole is a Mexican soup, so I recommend try a few different Mexican restaurants near you to see which one you like best. Now, remember pozole comes in different colors, like red, green, clear etc and it is usually made with pork. But I think it is safe to ask what meat is it made of when calling a restaurant, if is not specify on the menu. I say try them all colors…you will be surprised of the taste.

I saw that also, and noted it leaned heavily toward the lesser advertised places, which is good. Give a little press to those places not getting all the attention, like Spaghetti Factory, Luna, La Tapatia. I would like to mention a favorite, though, which seems to be struggling; Fiore. They appear to be suffering from the lack of traffic, after the closure of K Mart, years ago. Fiore now is a destination place, not somewhere you drive by and decide to give it a try.
