Contra Costa County achieved the third highest Census 2020 self-response rate of all California counties with a rate of 77.4% for the once-a-decade count of all residents.

The County’s self-response rate also surpassed its Census 2010 rate of 72.1% by more than five points or a 7.4% increase.

Now the U.S. Census Bureau will prepare the data to present to President Trump on December 31, 2020.

The redistricting process will begin in Spring 2021.

We should be proud.
What counties were first and second?

RTC December 1, 2020 - 8:01 AM - 8:01 AM

San Mateo had 78.6 and Santa Clara had 77.7.

Mitch December 1, 2020 - 12:54 AM - 12:54 AM

Our dead people also vote Democrat at an amazing clip, yay, Contra Costa!

Biff Nelson December 1, 2020 - 7:05 AM - 7:05 AM

What’s the point of redistricting, when the software on the voting machines already have a predetermined winner?

RTC December 1, 2020 - 10:56 AM - 10:56 AM

@Biff

Prove it.

NoMoreFreeRide December 1, 2020 - 4:51 PM - 4:51 PM

What have you been smoking?

Noj December 1, 2020 - 5:06 PM - 5:06 PM

Apparently RTC hasn’t been watching the election fraud hearings.

Path 1) The respective states legislatures select their own electors.
Path 2) The Supreme Court steps in and overturns the election.
So many ways this can unfold.
But, Joe Biden will never be president.

It’s easier to fill out their nosey form than to chase them off my property.

FPN December 1, 2020 - 8:15 AM - 8:15 AM

@Biff, Do you think city council or anyone in our Calif. goverment discuss our county having bought those cheat machines?

Comrade Grandkid December 1, 2020 - 9:02 AM - 9:02 AM

Why would you chase them off your property?

Rollo Tomasi December 1, 2020 - 9:52 AM - 9:52 AM

“Why would you chase them off your property?”

Because they weren’t invited and they’re not welcome.

JRocks December 1, 2020 - 8:20 AM - 8:20 AM

I did not fill out the census. I am sure an illegal alien filled one out in my place.

Pyrrhus December 1, 2020 - 12:57 PM - 12:57 PM

This just proves you don’t know what a census is.

Stove December 1, 2020 - 9:51 AM - 9:51 AM

I made sure to under report the people in my house. HAHAHA

Yes, let’s look at the last 12 years.

Before Obama took the Oath – Republicans were already attacking him and saying they would not work with him. Blocked Garland et al

Under Trump – Republicans showed they have no beliefs – biggest debt run-up ever – 2x more than Obama.

And then Republicans whined about Democrats not capitulating to them.

Hillary conceded the NEXT DAY after the election – Trump is still sitting in the White House basement, tweeting, whining, and telling everyone that Liberals are such geniuses they have millions of illegal votes cast – that note A SINGLE Conservative can find that they are willing to tell a Judge about when they could be held liable bor lying to a Court.

Noj December 1, 2020 - 5:55 PM - 5:55 PM

You left a part out. .Hillary Clinton on election night: “If that b@$^$d wins, WE”LL ALL HANG FROM NOOSES!” Now why on earth would that thought come to her mind? Let’s discuss.

concord one December 1, 2020 - 10:28 AM - 10:28 AM

how do they know its 77% if they need the census to know how many people there are???? LMAO

RTC December 1, 2020 - 12:33 PM - 12:33 PM

Once very 10 years is not “Constant.”

Pyrrhus December 1, 2020 - 1:08 PM - 1:08 PM

If we had kept the same districts that we did 30 or 40 years ago it would not be representative of today. Just be thankful we have a commission that is made up of both parties and independents Here’s how California works. https://ballotpedia.org/Redistricting_in_California

“Commissioners must meet the following requirements in order to serve:

1.)Members must have voted in at least two of the last three statewide elections.

2.)Members cannot have switched party affiliation for at least five years.

3.) “Neither commissioners nor immediate family may have been, within 10 years of appointment, a candidate for federal or state office or member of a party central committee; an officer, employee, or paid consultant to a federal or state candidate or party; a registered lobbyist or paid legislative staff; or a donor of more than $2,000 to an elected candidate.”

4.) Members cannot be “staff, consultants or contractors for state or federal government” while serving as commissioners. The same prohibition applies to the family of commission members. ”

We could be like Texas, Georgia, or Florida where they have horrible gerrymandering. .

Cellophane December 1, 2020 - 3:38 PM - 3:38 PM

I can’t help but wonder what impact the illegals had on the count?

ChuckStir December 1, 2020 - 5:52 PM - 5:52 PM

If I am ever contacted by phone for the Census and they ask my race, I am an american. Simple, I live in America. If they are looking for numbers that is all they need.
