Dorothy December 3, 2020 - 12:33 PM - 12:33 PM

Most likely for a while. If I were a man I would be a belt & suspenders type.

Justifiable languor December 4, 2020 - 6:47 AM - 6:47 AM

No. I want to exercise my immune system. Go organic.

chuckie the troll December 3, 2020 - 12:35 PM - 12:35 PM

Hellno!

Jeff December 3, 2020 - 12:38 PM - 12:38 PM

No, I will not. I barely wear it now, as I have a hard time breathing through it.

Kirkwood December 3, 2020 - 2:18 PM - 2:18 PM

Unless your mask is made from a blanket, I suggest you see a respiratory therapist.

Wes December 3, 2020 - 3:43 PM - 3:43 PM

I plan to wear a mask when I’m sick and hope that catches on.

Wes December 3, 2020 - 3:46 PM - 3:46 PM

This was supposed to be a main thread comment. Do what you want Jeff, I understand it’s a pain to wear.

MoJo December 3, 2020 - 12:49 PM - 12:49 PM

Yes- As my face continues to deteriorate from old age I will keep donning my Richard Gere face mask when carousing in public. The chicks dig it and I can hardly fight them off anymore.

Raiderette December 3, 2020 - 2:13 PM - 2:13 PM

😂😂😂😂😂

Simonpure December 3, 2020 - 12:51 PM - 12:51 PM

Yeah…everyone says I look better with it.

KT December 3, 2020 - 12:52 PM - 12:52 PM

If wearing a mask is no longer required, I will no longer wear one.

Dawg December 3, 2020 - 12:55 PM - 12:55 PM

No, no, no, and no. I abhor the thought of placing my hands anywhere near my face to adjust, or remove my mask after I’ve been pushing a filthy shopping cart around. Of all the things in the world that might be frightening, breathing on other people, or other people breathing on me isn’t one of them. But placing my contaminated hands near my face before I have a chance to wash them is very frightening. I simply don’t like being sick, and I believe wearing a cheap mask does not protect us from most germs.
I have not seen or heard of any convincing evidence that people are getting sick because they are not wearing a mask. For all I know, those that have gotten sick from COVID, did so because they touched their face before washing their hands.
I believe mask wearing, social distancing, stay at home orders, and lockdowns, is all a scare tactic to keep the population under control and bankrupt the country. The goal of the Left is socialism, and to achieve that goal they are exploiting the so-called pandemic to scare people into submission. Once the country is bankrupt, the population will become more dependent on government.

Dee December 3, 2020 - 2:59 PM - 2:59 PM

Right on the money there Dawg!

Roz December 3, 2020 - 4:50 PM - 4:50 PM

@ Dawg & Dee,… Bingo!

Doh December 3, 2020 - 5:02 PM - 5:02 PM

Hand sanitizer in the car before you remove your mask, Gloves protects you hands while shopping. 2,600 died yesterday from the COVID “conspiracy.” The so called leftest goals are only spoken by right wing nuts.

Claycordian December 3, 2020 - 1:04 PM - 1:04 PM

Yes, of course.

Kat December 3, 2020 - 9:39 PM - 9:39 PM

Right on the money, Roz, Dawg & Dee 🎉🎉

Claycordian December 3, 2020 - 1:05 PM - 1:05 PM

Yes, of course. I don’t need a mandate to wear a mask.

Antler December 3, 2020 - 1:42 PM - 1:42 PM

FACT: Oxygen and Carbon monoxide molecules are 100 times SMALLER than the fine COVID-19 protein droplets. If you are having trouble breathing with a mask on, then it most likely is a psychological thing.
However, you could always go ask your physician to recommend the best type of mask for you.

FACT: There is a recognized technique for removing your gloves and mask to avoid contamination. I’ll do my best to describe it:
As soon as you leave the grocery store (let’s say), go to the waste container just outside their door, grip the cuff of the first glove and rapidly peel it off so that the INSIDE of the glove is now on the outside. Now use that glove to grip the cuff of the next glove and repeat the process (i.e. neither hand has touched the soiled outside of a glove). Now use the inside of the glove to remove the mask‘s bands, folding the mask with the OUTSIDE touching itself. Push the gloves and mask into the flapping waste can lid (without touching the lid with your bare hands). Trundle on home again!
If you practice at home, you’ll get to be almost as speedy as is a surgeon! My cardiologist (also a surgeon) taught me the technique.

And yes, I will be wearing a mask until well after the vaccines are proven both safe and efficacious in wiping out the disease. But I’ll still be putting on lipstick, smiling with my eyes, and giving cheerful greetings to absolute strangers.

The will to survive this pandemic should not be contaminated by political involvement. Stand down!!!

ZZ December 3, 2020 - 4:37 PM - 4:37 PM

@Antler you have now become an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder germaphobic.

nytemuvr December 3, 2020 - 6:22 PM - 6:22 PM

@Antler….What’s the proper technique for the removal of a face shield and a hazmat suit?….asking for a friend.

Gittyup December 3, 2020 - 7:55 PM - 7:55 PM

@Antler If you are inhaling oxygen and exhaling carbon monoxide, I suggest you see a doctor immediately.

Silva December 3, 2020 - 9:26 PM - 9:26 PM

👏👏👏👍👍Thank you, Antler. Very nice and clear.

Antler December 4, 2020 - 1:48 AM - 1:48 AM

My reply was an honest suggestion to address Dawg’s concerns; but I inadvertently clicked the “wrong” reply locale above.

Gittyup, I meant to type carbon dioxide….. good catch!!!

Silva, I appreciate your courtesy so very much!

Ricardoh December 3, 2020 - 1:43 PM - 1:43 PM

Not after I get the vaccine.

Kirkwood December 3, 2020 - 2:24 PM - 2:24 PM

Probably until I have been vaccinated.

Original G December 3, 2020 - 2:25 PM - 2:25 PM

Definitely if for no other reason than, it screws up facial recognition software.

Tomato Girl December 3, 2020 - 2:31 PM - 2:31 PM

That would be a hell NO! By all means if you want to wear a mask then be my guest it doesn’t bother me but don’t tell me what to do the media has completely brainwashed half this country with its fear mongering

Pyrrhus December 3, 2020 - 2:38 PM - 2:38 PM

Going forward, after we COVID is done. I will wear a mask when I am not feeling well in order to help protect others. Japan and Korea already do this and I really appreciate their focus on thinking of others. We really need to stop being so selfish and start being considerate of others.

Dawg December 3, 2020 - 4:33 PM - 4:33 PM

It’s unusual for me to respond on Claycord in this way, but your comment calling people selfish is belittling of people you don’t know. You cannot get into their minds, therefor you don’t know their reasons. I for one, do not like wearing a mask. I do so only because I will not be allowed into a business without one. Before this so-called pandemic, I volunteered at Children’s Hospital in Oakland playing with, and entertaining some real sick children, and you have the nerve to say people like me are selfish. Get off your high horse, your arrogance is nauseating.

Anon December 3, 2020 - 6:52 PM - 6:52 PM

Lol, this is the norm for ‘Pyrrhus’ when they’re not begging the government to build clustered villages……forget about your property values!

I’ve got a redpill for you Pyrrhus…..How about when you’re sick STAY HOME!!!!

Antler December 4, 2020 - 5:38 AM - 5:38 AM

Thank you, Phyrrus!

Pyrrhus December 4, 2020 - 12:51 PM - 12:51 PM

@Dawg Did you wear a mask for those sick children? If you were required to do so and you decided you would rather not see those sick children because of a mask then yeah you are selfish. That little piece of cloth may be uncomfortable but it protects others from your sneezes and coughs. Heaven forbid you have to wear a mask for 30 minutes to an hour while shopping. Like Anon said, if you are sick, stay home.

@Anon, you’re absolutely right I do stay home if I can when sick. However, you still need to go out to get essentials. A common cold can be contained with practicing good hygiene and doing what Asian countries do, cover your face. But again you are a so called “red piller” where you only think of yourself and everyone else is a sheep. Yet, you fall for every conspiracy theory that some random teenager from Russia spits out on 4chan. How’s QAnon doing?

bdml December 3, 2020 - 3:25 PM - 3:25 PM

NO!

foonman December 3, 2020 - 3:31 PM - 3:31 PM

Why not? Its not that hard to adjust to it, but a pain. Its the least I can do to protect others and perhaps myself….

Chris December 3, 2020 - 4:08 PM - 4:08 PM

I’m still looking for those masks that Gavin recommended where you can take bites of food without removing
your mask. It’s totally a fashion statement for me.

Meemo December 3, 2020 - 4:19 PM - 4:19 PM

Yes. Mostly just to enrage the people who have politicized a common sense move.

American Citizen December 3, 2020 - 4:35 PM - 4:35 PM

I can barely breathe now. I’ve already got asthma. If I want to become hypoxic then I will continue to wear it.

Pyrrhus December 4, 2020 - 12:55 PM - 12:55 PM

It’s psychological. I have asthma too and while it is not comfortable you can still breathe. There has been ZERO evidence that masks restricts oxygen intake.

Cellophane December 3, 2020 - 4:50 PM - 4:50 PM

First of all, I don’t believe we’ll see anytime soon a lift of the mask baloney.

Second, I wear a mask inside stores that require one.

Otherwise, the thing hangs from my turn signal lever. It’s the same one I’ve had since day one of this nonsense.

One of the old N-95’s or whatever they were called.

FPN December 3, 2020 - 7:18 PM - 7:18 PM

@Cellophane, Lol I thought I was the only one.
Mine hangs off my emergency brake and the inside is covered with lipstick.

The Wizard December 3, 2020 - 5:00 PM - 5:00 PM

No, I going to convert mine to a G string.

PESFG December 3, 2020 - 6:46 PM - 6:46 PM

ROFLMBO!!! You win comment of the week! No one can top your comment on this thread. Thanks for the laugh 😂😆🤣

Zorro December 3, 2020 - 9:27 PM - 9:27 PM

Wow…and I thought Borat’s bathing suit was bad. Comment of the week, for sure, The Wizard!

Clayton Mom December 3, 2020 - 5:05 PM - 5:05 PM

YES, now that I know that I am surrounded by so many stupid people I will be wearing a mask.

Captain Bebops December 3, 2020 - 6:03 PM - 6:03 PM

No, I don’t have a mask fetish.

Gittyup December 3, 2020 - 8:07 PM - 8:07 PM

While I grugingly wear one because I have multiple risk factors, it is positively suffocating me, and I can barely get anything done sometimes when I am out grocery shopping, banking, at the post office, etc. I’m usually huffing and puffing by the time I get back to the car and have to take a few minutes to recover without it on. I’m looking forward to the day things will get back to normal, or, at least the point when one is not required. I rarely have gone anywhere since the start of this whole thing simply because I hate wearing the mask so much. If I am sick, I always stay home until I’m not sick, and I wish everybody else would do the same.

The Fearless Spectator December 3, 2020 - 9:54 PM - 9:54 PM

Grandpa Joe says we must wear masks for 100 days after he takes office. I can’t wait for day 101 when all is well. Such leadership, such depth, such science, such a plan, a true visionary………..

Joatmeal December 4, 2020 - 6:59 AM - 6:59 AM

It’s a recommendation, not a mandate. There is no “must”.

Kay December 3, 2020 - 10:08 PM - 10:08 PM

I suggest the people that are scared 😟 of Covid, stay in their homes, or only go to Lowe’s and Costco, there is an immunity cloud. Employees have been working right thru the entire time, & before masks were required. During the Spring the profit surpassed Christmas time sales! Garden dept.
At Lowe’s my friend almost couldn’t a parking spot when arriving for work. Customers were lined up out the door picking up “essential” supplies to remodel & complete that “honey do” list! They brought friends/family members, even babies with them. Still are.
And Starbucks is not essential 🤨🙄!
My mom has been locked in a convalescent home since surgery in January, 85 years old. No outside visitors since February, they finally got all negative testis last month, only for approximately two weeks. The nursing staff brought it back in, they are the only ones testing positive! Here we go again. Constant cycle. Essentially, doesn’t seem like the shields, masks, protocol is effective.

Silva December 3, 2020 - 10:11 PM - 10:11 PM

I will be so extremely happy (assuming I’m still here) when I have my vaccination(s) and at least 80% of us have them, and we are no longer losing our friends, loved ones, and everyone else. It will be nice when masks are optional again, of course. But I’m not that put out about it anyway. I already go out in p100 filters when the air starts to solidify and It has a bad flavor. My asthma likes it. I’m pleased to think maybe after COVID, wearing masks will have been normalized to some degree and better accepted in public for those of us who are more comfortable wearing a mask for whatever reason. As long as the bad guys don’t go and mess it up. By my criteria I’ll likely wear a face covering after the mandate ends.

Turn n Burn December 4, 2020 - 8:52 AM - 8:52 AM

My family always wears a mask when going out and we use hand sanitizer as soon as we get in the car. But unfortunately we caught the Covid bug. Fortunately though, we had minor symptoms and I have asthma. Didn’t effect me or my son at all. Hubby and daughter had very mild symptoms. Knock on wood we’re all fine.

Captain Bebops December 4, 2020 - 10:10 AM - 10:10 AM

There is a strong likelihood that those who have not become sick with covid so far is because they are immune to it. That’s some the health officials don’t seem to want to admit. And that number may be very large and may even be the majority.
