Nearly 4K Walnut Creek Kaiser Patients May Have Received Incorrect Dose Of COVID Vaccine

Nearly 4,000 Kaiser patients may have received slightly less than the recommended dose of their COVID-19 vaccination last fall at Kaiser Permanente’s Walnut Creek Medical Center, the health care provider said Monday.

Kaiser is now contacting roughly 3,900 people who received a Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine dose between Oct. 25 and Dec. 10.

According to Kaiser’s statement, the patients may have received between .01 and .04 milliliters less than the recommended dose of .30 milliliters.

Kaiser and medical experts from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention noted that the difference between the administered dose and the recommended dose is negligible and was unlikely to result in reduced protection against COVID.

However, Kaiser said it is offering an additional Pfizer vaccine dose to the affected patients if they request one.

According to the health care provider, the reduced dosage size was the result of miscommunication between staff and was an isolated incident.

“We took immediate steps to confirm that the issue was isolated and promptly retrained staff and validated their understanding of the correct procedure,” Kaiser said. “We are continuously monitoring so this does not happen again.”

.
“Miscommunication”?
.
Ask more in depth questions!
.
What were the circumstances that lead to an alleged miscommunication?
.

And all of those believers jumping to get vaccinated hahahahahagh. Idiots.

Kauai Mike January 18, 2022 - 4:35 AM - 4:35 AM

an innocent, inconsequential oversight. no biggie. move along.

Sam January 18, 2022 - 12:38 PM - 12:38 PM

Inconsequential? How do you know this didn’t prolong the pandemic? You know as we’ve been told, one person could infect thousands. Think of how many grandmas may have passed away because of this mistake. It’s selfish to say this is inconsequential when you have no proof of that. If these people were full vaxed the pandemic could be over.

Never mind, I just remembered masks and jabs do nothing at all other then make you look like a gullible democrat.

Ron January 18, 2022 - 7:24 AM - 7:24 AM

@Told ya – if you had ACTUALLY read the article – “difference between the administered dose and the recommended dose is negligible and was unlikely to result in reduced protection against COVID.” So those affected WERE vaccinated. Judging by your statements, I hope your unvaccinated status has not caused a loved one to suffer ill fully.

Bella January 18, 2022 - 7:26 AM - 7:26 AM

@Told ya. No one getting vaccinated is an idiot. hahaha-ing at a virus that kills is simply ignorance. Way to say it Exit 12A. Miscommunication? Asking what were the circumstances that lead to the alleged? Well said.

Randy January 18, 2022 - 7:28 AM - 7:28 AM

Is there settled-science proving that no actual harm was done to these people? Asking for a Lawyer.

this_that January 18, 2022 - 9:30 AM - 9:30 AM

Yes, the settled science states that 2 + 2 = 5.
No harm done at all.

Cellophane January 18, 2022 - 8:22 AM - 8:22 AM

For me, I’m having trouble believing what Kaizer says about all of this.

Was it really only 4K? Was the dosage really that insignificant?

Will anyone be disciplined?

The funniest line,

“Kaiser and medical experts from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention noted that the difference between the administered dose and the recommended dose is negligible and was unlikely to result in reduced protection against COVID.”

all for a drug that doesn’t really do anything that’s good, in my humble opinion.

Omni Chron January 18, 2022 - 10:59 AM - 10:59 AM

12% less is not “negligible”. But it really does not matter because the vast majority of people are getting the Omicron Variant which does not infect by way of the “Spike Protein” The “Vaccine” has no effect on Omnicron. The Vaccine only works on Alpha – Delta Variants , and the Virus is Mutating away so the Vaccine is actually becoming useless.

Yoyohop January 18, 2022 - 8:53 AM - 8:53 AM

NOTE how they specify that the mistake was made with Pfizer BioNtech – the drug that is NOT FDA APPROVED – but rather EUA approved, thus granting them legal immunity from such misapplications.

Still no Comirnaty available. I guess the printer that makes labels must be out of ink 😂

Jay Roller January 18, 2022 - 9:21 AM - 9:21 AM

This might matter if the shot actually worked!

Bruh January 18, 2022 - 9:34 AM - 9:34 AM

There’s a lot of miscommunication going on with doctors these days.

I think it’s quite obvious modern doctors lack very basic soft skills, which is not good.

Doctors need to be VERY good communicators. This whole “no good communicator” is NOT an excuse.

Medical schools need to start incorporating classes and programs that develop soft skills. If a doctor can’t communicate they shouldn’t be a doctor. Go be an accountant or code or IT or some other job that doesn’t deal with peoples health if talking to people is a problem.

KAISER!!!??? ….That says it all!!

Anon January 18, 2022 - 12:17 PM - 12:17 PM

Something tells me that those 4,000 did not call back to inquire about adverse reactions, don’t worry……the next shot will give you plenty of adverse effects.

MLF January 18, 2022 - 2:53 PM - 2:53 PM

Kaiser is the worst!!!

J to the C January 18, 2022 - 7:04 PM - 7:04 PM

Don’t worry, the shot clearly doesn’t work.
And to all the people who say it helps lessen the symptoms, all of the un-jabbed people I know who have covid right now have LESS symptoms then the infected vaxed people
