I can’t answer this question. I’m always invited for Thanksgiving dinner, and the thought of asking the hostess what sex the turkey identified as, never crossed my mind.

I get the hen & tom, but what kind of pronoun is yuk? 😉 😉 😉

S November 21, 2022 - 10:29 AM - 10:29 AM

HUMMMmmmmm Yuck can be a noun as in something that is disgusting… so therefore and to wit; I’ll go out on a limb here… Yuck could possible be a pro-noun for the bird?????????????

🙂

@S….I bought a turkey breast and I’m still trying to figure it out….is it a prepubescent Tom with “boy boobs” or a underdeveloped older Hen still in a training bra?…hmmmm

Cyn November 19, 2022 - 11:45 AM - 11:45 AM

Good one, S. Some people gave you a thumbs down….must be vegetarians. 🙂

Anyway, I’ll take A and B. Different sizes but both are delicious. Bring it!

.
Monkey pox.
.
What happened that pandemic?
.
All of the mainstream media outlets have stopped covering the spread.
.
Much a-do about nothing?

… once Pres Joe said it’s over the media for the most part said crossed it off their list … it’s all connected

The Fearless Spectator November 19, 2022 - 6:41 PM - 6:41 PM

When family dogs and children started getting it the reporting stopped.
So apparently, just like Antifa, monkey pox doesn’t exist.

Sick of it November 19, 2022 - 7:45 AM - 7:45 AM

Hey. Would it be to much to ask everyone to start using stop signs and lights again. It’s getting to where I worry about getting hit from behind when coming to a stop at a sign or light these days. Seems like no one is using them or following any laws win driving anymore. Remember driving rules and laws are there so we all pretty much know what the other guy is going to do to make it safer for all. Also all residential streets unless posted are 25mph. Not 30 o 50 mph. People live there and should not have to worry about being hit by a speeding car when backing out of there own driveway.

SICK OF IT ~
It’ all reminds me of the way the people drive in Puerto Rico. It’s crazy!

.
Observing traffic laws in most every Third World country is “optional”.
.
Liberal, lax, a lack of law enforcement, non-existent consequences, and diminished social standards is how Third World conditions start.
.
The leaders of Khalifornia are doing a great job protecting the general public health, safety, and welfare.

Captain Bebops November 19, 2022 - 9:52 AM - 9:52 AM

Anyone remember it being this cold this long around here in November? I’ve talked with others who say don’t remember anything like this. I’ve lived in the area for over 30 years and usually the cold spell is in late January.

Dawg November 19, 2022 - 10:43 AM - 10:43 AM

Ordinarily, the first half of November is just as warm as October, the second half is when it starts cooling off. Usually, I don’t even turn on my furnace until late November, or early December.

We have micro-climates around here. It’s often a different temp on Claycord than it is in Martinez. And these days we have to think about the hefty bill PG&E is going to send us if it gets cold. I’m still not sure I understand the logic behind charging more from 4PM to 9PM other than psychological torture.

Captain Bebops November 20, 2022 - 5:26 PM - 5:26 PM

I’ll also bet that the geoengineers will make sure next Thursday is a nice day. 🤣

So, What the Heck… (wanted to use a stronger word)

I never knew that Teacher Unions receive Federal Funding = Our Money…

Seems there is a movement to stop it…. Democrats LOVE the Unions, so the Bill doesn’t have a chance right now…

I am not a fan of this new “look” for Claycord. It’s redundant to see the topic and posts twice while scrolling down and everything in such small type. The comment space is before the posts. That doesn’t make sense.

Amy – Thanks for the feedback. What do you mean you see the topics and posts twice while scrolling? Are you on a phone or a desktop computer?

Also – the comment space is after the posts on each post.

S November 21, 2022 - 10:37 AM - 10:37 AM

thinking what Amy meant is after the article but before people’s comments?????

Anyway, took me a few days to get use to, but the old dog is learning new tricks. New format is fine by me………………

Thanks, S. Always appreciate your comments.

I miss the “Most Recent” comments under the “weather” column. Will you consider bringing them back? Try using a smaller type face, without any “bold type” to make them less distracting.

Bill November 20, 2022 - 9:28 AM - 9:28 AM

Do you know of any family members, seniors or friends that don’t go out (restaurants, shopping, entertainment etc.) like they use to since Covid?

Dr. Jellyfinger November 20, 2022 - 11:50 AM - 11:50 AM

@Bill ~ Yep. Just about everybody

Cyn November 21, 2022 - 11:43 AM - 11:43 AM

@Bill
I gave Dr. Jellyfinger’s post a “thumbs up” because that’s pretty much my answer. I and a lot of others don’t go out as much due to higher prices and just not feeling all that safe sometimes.

Dr. Jellyfinger November 21, 2022 - 4:43 PM - 4:43 PM

Hey Cyn, watch it! you put your thumb right up my @.

Same here. I used to go out regularly, and just to places like the bank, the Dollar Store, Macy’s, Target, TJ Maxx, PostI Office, Ross, just to look around. I usually ended up buying something I didn’t even know I needed. If I didn’t, I worked in the yard most of the day. There is always plenty to do there and it’s piling up, … but “outdoors,” for sure. Now, it’s basically to the drug store and the supermarket and back home. I dread going to the bank anymore and I hate making any kind of appointment and having to be somewhere all “cleaned up,” presentable, and on time. I’d live in my bathrobe if I didn’t have to leave the house to get the mail from the mailbox everyday. I guess I’m still worried “What will the neighbors will think?” The whole “stay at home,” and “wear a mask” thing, has really damaged my psyche, I’m afraid. I can’t imagine the impact it must have had on children at their impressionable ages to have been “locked away” for two years.

Ok, did it, done it…. who pulled the trigger, or triggers?
I don’t believe it was “Leaning Lee” Harvey…. at least not all by himself.

nytemuvr November 24, 2022 - 1:42 AM - 1:42 AM

@DOREMI….I read an article a few years ago that city workers took down a stop signal that was between “Harvey’s window” and the point of bullet contact. There was what looked like a ricochet strike on the top of the signal pole that hung over the street. There was a picture of it and it did look like a bullet had struck the top of the pole. It was somewhat corroded and hard to tell how long that mark might had been there. Interesting as that would have been a bullet that wasn’t counted. I don’t believe we’ll ever get the whole story.

What a difference one day can make, from Thanksgiving to, you touch that 50 inch TV you’ll pull back a bloody stump.
