The Sheriff’s STARR1 helicopter is currently assisting Walnut Creek Police with a search in the area of Bancroft Rd and Banbury Rd. Unfortunately we don’t have any further details, but this does not sound like a missing person case.
UPDATE: STARR1 has left the area after “clearing” all back yards of interest. This may have been related to a residential burglary or attempted burglary and involved as many as 4 suspects. Nobody was found in the search.

Theft of mature succulents from the Ruth Bancroft Garden.

Suspects are five white-haired women, two of which fled on a Buick at an extremely slow speed with their left turn signal left on. The suspects were all wearing khahi slacks and knitted sweaters.

Also heard a couple of firecrackers or gunshots just before the helicopter came.
Be careful. They are not armed, but the saguaro they stole was, and they’re likely very prickly old ladies.
