Claycord Donut Wars – Happy Donuts On Monument Blvd. In Concord

Up next in our installment of the Claycord Donut Wars is Happy Donuts, located on Monument Blvd., just west of Oak Grove Rd. (next to Walgreens) in Concord.

Happy Donuts has been in business for decades, and just like King’s, they seem to be family owned, and are very nice and appreciate your business.

Here’s our recap.

Happy Donuts is a hidden gem. They don’t get talked about much since they’re in the same city as King’s and Chicks, but they can definitely hold their own. The positive is they have a great selection of donuts during the morning, but the negative is they’re only open until noon.

Six donuts at Happy Donuts cost $8.25, which is cheaper than Krispy Kreme ($14.94) and Donut King in Pleasant Hill ($9.50), but still a little more expensive than King’s and Dunkin’ Donuts in Concord.

They take credit/debit cards and other forms of payment, but they do charge you a little extra if you don’t pay with cash.

They didn’t give any extras. So far, King’s in Concord is the only place that gave us a few free donut holes with our order.

Now, about the donuts. They were fluffy, fresh, tasted great, and honestly, we were a little surprised Happy Donuts doesn’t get more credit from our fellow Claycordians. If you live in the area, it’s worth a try.

We give Happy Donuts 3.5 out of 5 donut holes.

CLAYCORD DONUT WARS SCORECARD (donut holes = stars):

  • Krispy Kreme in Concord gets 1.5 out of 5 donut holes.

OVERALL LEADER = KING’S IN CONCORD

(ratings are based on location, hours, customer service, cost, selection, taste of donut, extras)

The Claycord Donut Wars will continue next week.

Do any of the donut shops offer a senior discount? Most places that offer senior discounts, consider 55 and older to be a senior, but they don’t advertise it, so you usually have to ask them for it.

Best Donuts in Pittsburg is literally the best donuts in the area. Always busy in the mornings. Tons of options. All are tasty. They also have croissant sandwiches which I’ve never tried, but people are always buying. They’re huge!

The worst donuts in the area are Dunkin. I’ve never had a good donut there. They tie 7 Eleven donuts, which are also bland.

The worst donut i ever had was an onion donut from safeway. ….🤔 come to think of it, it may have been a bagel
