Planned Apartment Complex – AO Architects/City of Concord

The Concord Design Review board will discuss plans this week for a six-story apartment building with 183 units and 99 parking spaces on a 1.81-acre site at 1650 Ashbury Dr., which is the former site of the Church of the Nazarene.

The Church still owns the property.

The Church was built in 1983, but in May of 2021, the Church’s office building was destroyed by fire and removed from the north half of the site. The proposed project also includes the demolition of the former Church of the Nazarene chapel and gymnasium building that are currently vacant.

The urbanizers continue to destroy suburbia. So glad to be out of there.
