A former U.S. Postal Service employee from Vallejo has pleaded guilty to a daring theft of mail from the trailer of a mail truck while it was stopped at a red light, according to federal prosecutors.

Edison Small, 42, pleaded guilty last Thursday to theft of government property, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Phillip Talbert of the Eastern District of California.

Prosecutors said that on May 24, 2022, Small climbed inside a trailer that a postal truck was towing in Vallejo while the truck was stopped at a red light. Once inside, Small grabbed a bag and hid it under his shirt and hopped out of the trailer as the truck began to move down the street.

The bag contained $17,460 in cash, $1,300 in money orders, and $504 in checks. During a subsequent search of Small’s apartment, $15,240 was found.

Small faces a maximum statutory penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

These are Federal Crimes, so our soft DA can’t get involved.

Is locking the trailer to much to ask?

How is it possible that there is $17, 460 plus checks and money orders in one bag of mail in a small trailer being towed a mail truck? Who gets cash in the mail? Nothing about this story seems right.

Don’t go to bed with no price on your head, no, no, no…. don’t do it!
Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time… don’t do it!
Keep your eye on the sparrow when the going gets narrow
Don’t do it!

No, Blake COULD do the time…. that’s all that mattered.
He probably did kill her, and I don’t blame him…. she was a succubus.
Prison would be preferable to living with her.

Yeah, this sounds fishy! Inside job? They should look into the driver of the truck. Why would all of those items..cash, checks, money orders, etc. be in this one bag? At a quick red light…to enter, and grab all these specific goods, and get out….REALLY?
