The Contra Costa County Probation Department is partnering with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to host four public drop-off sites for this year’s holiday toy drive.

Established in 1991, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a nationally recognized charity that collects and distributes an average of 18 million toys to less fortunate children annually.

The Contra Costa County Probation Department will join the local campaign and provide community drop-off sites for the third year in a row.

Deputy Probation Officer Justin Badler, who has led the department’s Toys for Tots involvement for the last few years, said in a statement, “It is a great opportunity to engage with residents and make a difference in children’s lives and in the community we serve.”

The campaign asks toys be new and unwrapped. Toys can be dropped at the following four sites: 4549 Delta Fair Blvd., Antioch; 50 Douglas Drive, Suite 200, Martinez; 202 Glacier Drive, Martinez; 3095 Richmond Parkway, Suite 201, Richmond.

The sites are located within the probation department’s offices and are available to accept public donations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Dec. 15. from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. The offices are closed from noon to 1 p.m. daily.

Interesting article but doesn’t say much? Is the probation dept. only accepting donations? or is it involved in other ways? The Marines are fantastic people for year after year doing this “not really religious but seems like they are doing angles work right here on earth””yeah I know……” so they deserve the help they can get, just curious to know what. Guess I have to look this one up.
