The City of Concord will be performing work at Concord Community Park (3501 Cowell Rd.) during the next two weeks March 5-15, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to construct three new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) parking stalls, weather permitting.

Temporary ADA parking stalls will be placed for the duration of this work.

I hate to play the age card, but more ADA stalls are needed throughout Concord at both public facilities and shopping areas. We baby boomers are now into our seventies and some of us have not faired as well as we might have, had we not run our joints into the ground, or stepped on a booby trap in some far off war. Lots of years + lots of physical exertion + a little misfortune = disability, so more blue spots please.

Not the age card at all. We do have an aging population in this country and many have mobility issues due to various things that happen in life. It;s appalling the lack of “blue” parking spaces at Todos Santos Plaza. Many with mobility issues would love to go to the farmers market, music events, restaurant’s and other shops and events at the plaza but there are few spaces and NO City (more like sh*tty) of Concord) the “blue” spaces in the parking garages are not convenient.
And it’s not just “elder;y” there a lots of younger disabled veterans or younger people disable due to violent crimes against them and sporting/auto accidents. So if the “sh*tty” of Concord is going to spend money on events at the plaza than FSS provide adequate parking for citizens with mobility issues. And no I’m not disabled and when in the area park on the top floor of the newer garage. But when exiting I see plenty of the “blue” spaces on the bottom empty as they are not convenient to most things in the plaza

Wow, 2 weeks! Guess they have to do an environmental study, solicit input from the public and order the blue paint.

They have to re pour the sidewalk to accommodate wheelchairs etc… as well as put up signage and also paint. Good for Concord! Less parking for me but there are people who use that facility that really do need the extra spots. I am mobile for now and glad to walk a bit further for those who cannot!

Gee you think maybe they want to watch their grandchild, niece, nephew or family friend participate in an aquatic event. And no you are not funny
