On Friday March 14, BART will begin installing Next Generation Fare Gates at the Concord BART station off Clayton Rd. Riders are advised to allow extra time when entering or exiting the station.
This update is part of BART’s ongoing efforts, with new fare gates already installed at 23 other stations across the system.
Next generation 😂
Waste of money. I still see people defeat the gate. For example, last Sunday, a homeless guy pushed the gate at 16th Bart station and slid right through while the Bart agent was on the phone. And free riders are piggybacking.
BART= 💩 but they knew this when they sold this bill of goods…nothing but crime & a free ride for parasites & criminals.
“ongoing efforts” to what?
These new gates appear to be fairly flimsy. I wonder how much abuse these gates can take from people attempting to push and/or pushing their way through these gates before they’re damaged and require repair?
I like this….but it will need an officer to make sure deadbeats do not force them. The old gates sucked (rode bart since 74) and you could get by them easy. The problem with the new gates is they will be forced as well as double-ups (two people at a time) and breakage so put an officer at every one “Bart says there 50″….seems like a small number vs the staffing at bart police.
Just another joke and waste of millions by BART.
Thanks for nothing!
It will be interesting to see how they hold up with people who force them. They will definitely work for people who buy tickets.
