The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon.
Today’s question:
QUESTION: When was the last time you flew on a plane, and where did you go? Also – was it a good or bad experience?
Talk about it….
Today
1974, when I came home from the Army.
You need to get out more.
Flew to Burbank airport and a relative pick me up to stay in Malibu for Christmas. Then flew to Vegas for new year for 4 days vacation. Flew back home to sfo. It was a great experience even with the delayed flights. Just bring some money when you are in Vegas cuz slot machines are everywhere, including the airport.
A few years ago to Escondido, and the experience was not the best. I had a window seat and
an enormous, fat woman sat in the seat next to me with a good portion of her body hanging
over the armrest onto my side. She felt like a soft pillow and I just sat there looking out the window. I kinda felt sorry for her, but at the same time, being that fat is entirely her fault.
Yeah. We’ve all been there. I had a fat German dude leaking into my seat years ago, there’s really no excuse.
A friend of a friend of a friend who is heavy buys two seats so she won’t bother anyone.
Last summer to Austin TX for a hot & humid wedding …. flight itself was ok – but waited for bags on landing for almost 45 min … Southwest
January 2019 to Seattle Washington for my granddaughter’s baby shower. Great flight- friendly people and timely exit leaving the airport. Wonderful flight home a few days later arriving in Oakland. Southwest.
November of last year to Costa Rica
Early 2000’s when i flew alaska airlines to portland oregon. Really nice airport. Alaska has always been a good airline to me.
.
October 2019.
.
I stopped flying when they stopped paying me to fly.
It’s the only way I’ll do it.
2018 is my answer.
My second to last flights were to Regina Saskatchewan in February
for a week. Still can’t feel my toes.
Also Canadian customs are d***s.
May/June 2024, to Colorado for a week and back home.
We flew Southwest and it was nice.
This year will be our first road trip to see Daughter & Hubby in Colorado.
Looking forward to seeing some other States and some Landmarks.
Wrong thread.
Last month, March 2025. Flew from Oakland to John Wayne, Orange County Airport, Santa Ana.
Santa Ana.The WORST city in California.Don’t even bother seeing the crime stats and the daily murders. No leadership but for illegals…that are steered wrong as usual.
1979 to England. Will never fly again.
Hawaii subsidizes their tickets heavily, so I go every few years, because it is beautiful, the people are very friendly, and the food is twice as good as California while being maybe 70% of the price.
Hawaii is really a lovely place.
Quite a few years. I think when I flew to Texas for some insurance training. I used to fly a lot, Denmark every other year, and when I was married sometimes twice a year. Would also fly to NYC or Boston to visit friends. Also visited friends in Denver and Miami. Sold enough insurance one year to qualify for a free trip to London. My ex-husband was from Madison Wisconsin and had family in Chicago, and Arizona, so it added up to several trips a year. Flown to Mexico for vacation. Now I live a more sedate life and usually drive where I want to go, my daughter in Pasadena, and years ago drove to Seattle to visit a girlfriend. I could have flown, but I wanted to drive and experience the landscape. Saw Mt. Helena and Mt. Hood, drive back I from Portland I took the coast road.
2007 when I flew up to Seattle over the holidays to visit friends. At that time it was my first flight since 9-11 so didn’t know what to expect but actually the TSA staff was friendly and even the manager in Seattle when I left was apologizing because he had trainees on the scanning device and were a little slow.

I did a lot of air travel in the 1990s even outside of the US. In the late 1970s I was to fly down here from Seattle with my brother in his private plane but he was not instrument rated and was unable to get out. I had an airline flight booked anyway so took it but he flew down the next day after weather on the coast was clear and did fly back with him. That evening I had to play a club job in a band and the room was swaying from all those hours in the plane just like one might experience if they spent the day in a row boat.
Sunday–Nice to Munich to San Francisco
