Pleasant Hill construction update: Upcoming construction activities include powering on the new traffic control signals at Conrta Costa Blvd Taylor Blvd and Contra Costa Blvd and Alan Dr. This will include the installation of new traffic cameras, controller cabinets, and other traffic control devices. The signal turn-on is scheduled for May 6, 2025. In order to complete the work, traffic will be restricted in the work zone to one lane in each direction. Motorists are advised to drive slowly thru the work zone and to follow all traffic control devices.
I am not sure who is responsible or approved this so called improvement. Taking away dedicated right turn lanes, making lanes narrow etc; adding a traffic light a very short distance from this intersection is already wrecking havoc on traffic flow. The benefits of having traffic run smoothly far out weigh these changes
the same drunk idiots that relined Concord blvd. between Denkinger and Pt. Chicago.
Another waste of taxpayer $$ … why “fix” something that isn’t broken? …. did a city staffer’s brother in law get the contract?
You know the government’s motto, right? “If it ain’t broke, fix it until it is! “
Yay! Sounds exciting may go to pleasant hill to watch.
the city of concord needs to work on the lights on concord boulevard at concord high school those lights take forever to change.
Well now, in foreground of picture is a patch of dirt then a yellow rectangle,
then ? ? ? ? ? What is purpose of that raised concrete curbing, one end
squared off and other end rounded with yellow rectangles either side ?
A designed in tripping hazard ? ? ? Definitely a hazard for bike riders.
Anyone know why that hole exists ? ? ?
.
Design rates right up there with “bike lanes” on Lennon Way in Walnut Creek.
Bike lane starts at curb, then vehicle parking, then traffic lane.
.
Slight problem aside from massive amounts of green paint, anyone exiting
their vehicle stand a very good chance of being struck by passing traffic
or having their drivers door sheared off.
Area around Kaiser Shadelands medical offices.
Lawsuits waitin’ to happen.
The new traffic light at Alan Drive appears to be just for the benefit of Starbucks.
I think you are correct, which is ridiculous. The placement of this new light will cause rear ends (turning right onto Contra Costa Blvd from Willow Pass) and cars will be backed up into the intersection.
I believe this is for pedestrian access due to future housing that is slated to be built along that frontage (mall parking lot) area of CC Blvd.
Worst intersection ever now! I can’t imagine why it was redesigned this way, or how we will learn to love it.
I’m trying to avoid the area, but can’t. The surrounding neighborhood has really been impacted from cars trying to cut through. Feel bad for them 🙁
It won’t be long before signs and/or cones are put up at the neighboring streets stating “no turns on given days and hours” and/or “no through traffic” at all
