Walnut Creek police are looking for the suspect responsible for a Saturday night shooting that left one person in John Muir Hospital with non-threating gunshot injuries.

Police received multiple 911 calls at 11:20 p.m. regarding shots fired in the 2700 block of Hutchinson Ct. Police contacted the victim at the hospital, where they were already seeking treatment, according to the Walnut Creek Police Department.

Police say it’s still an active investigation, so only limited information can be released at this time, but investigators believe it was an isolated incident between the involved parties.

Anyone with information about regarding this incident can call detective Gerstner at gerstner@walnutcreekpd.com.

The hood has come to the suburbs. They’ve arrived and armed.

I suggest building some affordable housing housing in this area to help promote a more peaceful resolution in the future.

PO'd October 17, 2022 - 1:10 AM - 1:10 AM

What does affordable housing have to do with this act? Especially with
very little info to go with. We don’t know who the perp(s) is and we don’t know what the altercation is about.

Yes, we need more projects and Section 8 homes in WC. Walnut Creek needs to follow the path of Antioch and go all in on Section 8.

Vote Mary Knox and this shooting would of never happened.

Who wants to bet that the perp was from Pittsburg/Bay Point/Antioch?

Check out the “street view” in Google maps. Black Tesla in the driveway of one of the houses, see what kind of element EVs bring to your neighborhood?

… no surprise given the lack of prosecuting to the full extent of the law and lax enforcement

It’s The Wild West out there. Get some training.

I think the isolated perps are ready to turn them self in at the self-help kiosk. The judge will be impartial.

No worser for ware.

There was a party in a house near NorthGate High School. The party got put on social media and many uninvited guests showed up from who knows where.

Had a similar situation 5-6 yrs ago on Halloween night. Our street is always very busy on Halloween. One year, a sophomore on the street had a party and posted pix on instagram. Before we knew it, the streets were jam packed with young people. There had to be at least 500 people hanging out. Drinking in the street. Sitting on cars while smoking pot. Trying to drive through the crowd. It was like a scene from Mardi Gras.

It got so bad that Clayton PD posted 2 cars at the end of the street with their lights on. They stopped everyone who tried to drive in. Don’t live on the street, then go away. They were still turning cars away at 12:30, when I went to bed.

I talked to a cop friend shortly afterward and was told that most of the people that they didn’t let onto the street were from Pittsburg and Richmond. There were no shots fired but things were a bit tense between the neighbors and trick or treaters vs. the party goers.

Well. Let me address the perps directly. Do you want to face my judge that will show leniency, or do you want your judge? You decide.
